Epilogue
Oonagh
Cassidy had worked a miracle getting my dress ready in time. Ivory silk and lace that flared at the waist to cover my rounded stomach. Crystals decorated the bodice and highlighted the pattern of the lace in the skirt.
After I agreed to marry him, Liam lost no time in making that a reality. He’d returned at the end of September; tonight was Halloween and the back garden of our home was decorated in pumpkins and spooky witches in the branches of trees. He took my favourite day of the year and made it even more special.
“Happy?” Liam whispered in my ear, his arms wrapping around my waist, tugging me into his strength.
“Hmmm. You do like a good theme.”
His chuckle made my heart flutter. “There was no way you were getting away after you agreed to be mine.”
“Possessive much?”
“Only for you.” His lips on my neck made me shiver.
Every aspect of the day had been perfect, every detail planned to perfection. I had no idea how he did it in such a short time. We’d been married on our faery mound where he constructed an arch made of hawthorn and other twisted branches. Tiny lights decorated every tree, bringing the garden to life.
“I love you,” he muttered against the sensitive shell of my ear. “Do you want to know what I have planned for tonight?”
I turned to look up at him.
“We finished the old lighthouse. I made the room at the top into a bedroom just for you.”
Our first time together had been in that room. I gasped, grabbing his face and kissing him with everything I had in me.
“Would you put my sister down?” Niall grumbled, wandering over. I was happy to report that Aoife had disappeared from his life.
“Technically, she accosted me,” Liam said, smiling down at me.
“Mum’s loving the decorations. Maybe we should move our birthday from August to October. She could work wonders with her decorations and cupcakes.” Niall stared at Liam for several seconds. “You do realise if you hurt her, I’ll come after you?”
Liam arched an eyebrow, his arm tightening around me. “No offence, Niall, but I’ve been in love with your sister since I was five. You have nothing to worry about.”
Niall nodded, giving him one last glare, and pressing a kiss to my cheek before wandering off to indulge in the confectionary table. Liam had filled it with all my childhood favourites and candy apples to add to his theme.
“Liam?”
“Hmmm? ”
“Let’s just go without telling anyone. I want to spend the rest of the night with my husband.”
He led me into the house, helping me take my dress off in our bedroom before we wandered down the road hand in hand, dressed in matching black that hid us from the rest of the world.
The bedroom in the lighthouse was perfect, decorated in shades of blue to match the ocean. A painting of me as a mermaid hung above the bed.
“Welcome home, baby,” Liam said, hauling me against him. “And by the way I love the red lace panties.”
My dress didn’t need a bra, but my signature underwear was red lace panties from our first night together. Trust Liam to notice them when I was getting changed.
I wrapped my arms around his neck, drawing his head to mine. His lips met mine in a kiss that felt like a solemn vow. “I only wore them in case I bumped into a boy I met here years ago. He was hot as hell with stamina that was boundless. If he turns up, you’ll have to step aside.”
Liam’s lips twitched on mine. “I only came here looking for a girl I knew years ago. She drove me fucking crazy with her shy touches and pouty kisses. She tends to wear red lace panties. Sound like anyone you know?”
“Maybe when you unwrap your present, you can let me know if you find her,” I whispered against his lips.
He saw the panties under my dress, but he didn’t see the bodysuit with lace panels and gossamer material holding it together that was hiding in the bathroom.
Liam’s eyes darkened as he removed my clothes. “Yeah, cancel the search party. I found what I was looking for. ”
I grabbed his face, bringing his lips to hover over mine. “Show me what it feels like to be owned by you.”
His feral grin sent a shiver of lust deep into my core. “On the bed, ass in the air, baby.”
Sometimes you find love where you least expect it. I discovered it while searching for shells on the beach. Liam was my anchor, the centre of my storm in the sea of life. We were bound by chains of love and devotion that strengthened every day.
His warm body covered mine. “Truth or dare?” he asked.
A dark smile crossed my lips. “Dare.”
