I never expected backlash from the biggest deal of my life.

It was my last closing as a real estate agent. I traded open houses and commissions for an investment in Cuffed. I’d only visited a handful of times, but it only took one visit to know what a gold mine they’d created. Plus, it was a place where I could express my needs openly—without judgment.

They had purchased properties on either side of their building and were creating a whole complex. With my background in development, it was going to be right up my alley. A dream project.

The grandson of the late owner of one of the buildings is kicking up a fuss, but with the executor having approved the sale and closing months before, I didn’t see a thing he could do about it. Boy, was I wrong.
