Chapter 23

Chapter

Twenty-Three

SUGAR BABY

I groaned as the sun disrespectfully let me know it was time to wake up.

Moonshine was officially not my friend. Though I sobered up rather quickly last night, I still had a headache and my stomach felt like shit.

Before I sat up, I prayed and thanked God that we were able to make it home safely.

While I didn’t know the reason behind what happened last night, I knew if Cash took it there in front of me, it was for a reason.

I’d be lying if I said it didn’t catch me off guard, but I had to accept every part of him in order for our relationship to work.

As I yawned, I sat up. When my eyes landed on Cash seated in the corner of the room staring at me, I jumped. Clutching my chest, I chuckled.

“Jesus, you scared me. How long have you been up, and why are you just sitting there staring at me?”

“How do you feel?”

“Fine, Cassius. Hungover but fine.”

He looked perplexed. His mouth opened and closed but nothing came out. As his head tilted, he slumped down in his seat.

“Cash.”

“Do you still feel the same way that you did last night?”

“Yes,” I confirmed with no hesitation.

“Why?”

“Because I love you.”

His armor cracked and he smiled. “I love you, Sugar Baby James. I hate the first time I told you was under those circumstances, but in case things played out differently, I wanted to make sure you knew.”

“I knew, but I’ve been waiting to hear you say it.”

“Get up and get dressed. I have something planned for you.”

I slowly got out of bed. Even with me feeling horrible, I’d never turn down time with my man.

After I handled my personal care and got dressed, I found water and a liquid IV pack along with Tylenol waiting for me on the nightstand.

I took the pills expeditiously and drank all the water because I felt a little dehydrated.

When I made it downstairs, Cash was already dressed in his signature all black.

He told me he was going to feed me something that would help my stomach.

As we walked to the beach hand in hand, I could feel something was bothering him.

I wasn’t sure if it was what happened last night or how it affected me.

“Are you okay?” I asked him. “Is whatever that was about over?”

“Depends on how Sko responds. If he wants to come after me because I put four of his men down, it won’t be over until his life is. It would be best if he let the shit go though. Either way, that ain’t shit for you to worry about. ”

“I worry about you. I know you can take care of yourself, but I still do.”

“You been talking to God for me?” I nodded. “Then there’s no need to worry.”

That made me smile.

At the beach food court, we had two juicy, greasy burgers and cheese fries, and it was just what my stomach and soul needed.

He added a fried egg to mine and it was like a heavenly party for my mouth.

By the time I was done eating, I felt so much better.

We didn’t head home immediately, opting instead to spend time on the beach.

At no point did I think the impromptu beach time was a ruse until we returned home and I saw Rittany’s car pulling out of the driveway.

“Uh . . . What’s going on?”

“You’ll see in a moment. I need to get one more thing set up, though, so don’t get out the car,” he said, pulling into the garage.

“O-okay,” I mumbled as my heart started to race.

“Relax,” he commanded through his chuckle. “No need to be nervous.”

After giving me a quick kiss, he got out of the car and went inside. I busied myself scrolling on social media trying to distract myself from overthinking his surprise until he came out to get me.

“Forever Mine” by The O’Jays played as we entered the bedroom, instantly making me sniggle.

I guess he wasn’t playing about that being our song.

The lyrics meant even more now. I was so happy just to hear the song that I pulled him into my arms for a dance.

I hadn’t bothered to look at the rest of the room until the song was over.

Gasping, I covered my mouth as my eyes watered.

Balloons hung from the ceiling, rose petals were on the floor and bed, and there was a bouquet of them along with gift boxes on the table in the corner of the room.

“Rittany grabbed the items I asked her to while we were out. I know I can’t accurately express how what you said and did last night makes me feel, but I have to at least try. I also wanted to double down on the fact that I love you. I hope this shows you.”

He helped me into the chair, and when he removed my sandals and put my feet in the warm water, my tears fell.

For this man to submit to me, to serve me, to humble himself under me, to show his love to me in this way .

. . I couldn’t stop the tears if I tried.

The more he kneeled and washed my feet, the softer my heart became.

The safer I felt with him. I knew our relationship wouldn’t be perfect, but this man was absolutely perfect for me.

I didn’t even care about the gifts on the table.

There was nothing he could have purchased that would top him washing my feet as a symbol of his love, service, and submission.

The second he was done drying my feet, I leaned forward and connected my lips with his.

“Make love to me, Cassius,” I requested against his lips before reconnecting them with mine. “Then, I want you to fuck me.”

“Mm. You know I love when you tell me exactly what you want me to do.”

“Are you going to do it?” I asked as he picked me up.

“Hell yeah. In that order.”

And that was exactly what he did. Cash demolished my pussy in the nastiest and most delicate way with his mouth until I was a wet, quivering mess.

Then, he slow-stroked me to a hard, intense missionary climax.

We switched positions, and I rode him with a medium pace that he matched, cumming right after he told me, “You look so beautiful up there.”

And then, he put me on my hands and knees, and he fucked me hard and deep until I begged for mercy. I took him into my mouth and let his seeds shoot down my throat before riding him reverse cowgirl until he was empty.

I laughed as he muttered, “Nasty lil pussy cat,” while smacking my ass. “Look at me. You got my dick and thighs soaking wet.”

“ You got your dick and thighs soaking wet,” I countered, climbing off him. Leaning down, I kissed his lips. “Thank you for the gesture. I loved everything about it.”

I wanted to tell him I loved everything about him, but he grabbed my neck and pulled me down for another kiss. A deeper kiss. A deeper kiss that had him flipping me over onto my back and sliding inside of my pussy all over again.

A Little While Later

The vibe was definitely sweet at Rittany’s going away party.

Aunt Terry threw down with the food, and of course I made my girl a sweet treat table.

Everything came out perfectly. As happy as she was, she’d shed tears a few times, which put me in my feelings as well.

By the time the party was over, I felt like we both were all cried out and excited about this new journey for her.

“I’m gonna miss you,” I told her as we held each other and swayed. I was prepared to say goodbye, as prepared as I could be, but I still didn’t want to let her go.

“I’m gonna miss you too.” She held me tighter. “Don’t replace me. You know I’m your only best friend. You can’t have another one.”

“What about me?” Cash asked, and even though I couldn’t see him, I heard the smile in his voice.

“No! Not you either. Just me.”

I laughed as I released her and looked at her with pride. “I’m so happy for you, bestie. Seriously. I can’t wait to hear your stories from this new adventure.”

Rittany took my hand into hers as Cash made his way next to me and Dre stood behind her.

He was going to fly out with her in the morning to help her get her new place situated, which I thought was sweet.

Neither of them were looking for anything serious, but I liked that she had a man who would at least be a good enough friend to pull up and make sure she was straight if and when she needed him to.

“You take care of my girl,” she instructed Cash. “She’s one of my most valued treasures. Treat her as such.”

“Yes, ma’am,” Cash agreed, wrapping his arm around me. “I give you my word.”

“And you get my girl to Virginia safely,” I told Dre. “She has a habit of overthinking, so if she gets there and wants to change her mind, just reassure her that she’s made the right choice and she’ll be okay.”

“I gotchu,” he agreed, tossing his arm over her shoulders.

She and I locked eyes again, and even though I couldn’t see my pout, I imagined it looked like hers.

“I love you,” she whispered, pulling me in for another hug.

“I love you too. See you soon, Ritt.”

“Promise?”

“Promise.”

I gave her a kiss on the cheek and released her, then quickly turned.

Cash had already opened the passenger door of his Corvette, which I was grateful for.

If we didn’t get out of here, me and Rittany would spend the rest of the day standing there holding each other.

I looked at her as he walked over to his side of the car and waved with a smile, restraining my tears.

“Whew,” I said shakily as we pulled off.

“You gon’ be aight?” he asked, taking my hand into his.

“Eventually. I’m good enough for now.”
