10. Chapter 4

Zach

Our pack, Sugar Society, has a ceremony tomorrow, and Kaylynn has no clue what is in store for her.

The Sugar Society has standards. There are rules and regulations that everyone must follow.

My brothers and I are the kings of this society.

We rule, do what we want, how we want, when we want.

Authorities? What authority? We are the authority in our society.

Rubbing my hand down my face, I exhale. This was not how things were planned to go.

Opening the back door of the club, I head towards the Tahoe.

We have a fleet of cars here since this is our home away from home.

We have to get her back to her dad’s house.

She can’t be out at night, not here, and especially not alone; the other societies and packs will try to stake claim if they find a lone woman, especially the rarest of her kind, wandering the streets.

Her father is a little prick and will be dealt with separately, for not keeping a closer eye on her.

Kaylynn is ours. We own her mind, body and soul.

She belongs to my brothers and I in every way possible.

She’s our one true mate. We've known she was ours since she was a kid.

Our society holds meetings where all members must show up, and occasionally children of the members come to select meetings.

It only took one glance, and a whiff of her scent, and we all knew then, even if she was only human, that she was intended to be ours.

Kaylynn is much more than just a human, she is a rare human-omega.

She will never be able to shift, but she can take our knots, and we can breed her to have our pups.

Honestly, she has no idea about any of this.

Yes, it's fucked up, but we had to protect her from this world. If others knew what she is, she could have been, and can still be, stolen and sold to the highest bidder. That isn’t happening on our watch.

So much as a single glance at our girl, and they will wish they never looked in her direction.

I can feel my canines protrude slowly. I really need to calm down, but I’m so angry.

I can’t believe she snuck out. ‘If someone got to her…’ My fists clench from just the thought, and it leaves a trail of blood in the palm of my hand.

Luckily, it will heal before anyone even notices.

It’s one of the better attributes of being a shifter.

Pulling up to the curb in the alley, I jumped out and headed straight through the back doors to retrieve our girl.

Fuck, where is she? She couldn’t have gone far.

She was supposed to meet us when she was done cleaning herself up.

I was only gone for two minutes, between getting the car started and pulling up.

“FUCK.”

Smelling the air, I catch her scent. It’s so sweet, like cotton candy in my senses. It’s sin wrapped in innocence. My fangs and claws start extracting at the thought of her and what we will do with her. I force myself to calm down, because now is not the time for this.

She's gone.
