38. Chapter 32 #2

“Really, I don’t care what you think or say.

You sold me off like hot cakes, and now you want me to welcome you with open arms?

You were a horrific father who gave no shits about me.

You conditioned me for this society. Why father?

For your own gain. To be honest, am I even your daughter?

Where is my mother?” I am so furious, I can barely take breaths.

“You abused me, and used me for your own personal gain.” I knock him down with my boots.

“You low life dog. Why would I want you back in my life after everything?” I laugh hysterically.

Little Reds men come up at the same time mine do. I must have been making a bigger scene than I thought.

“What’s going on over here?” The guys’ father seethes out.

Ugh. I try not to say much, but that voice really needs to get away from me. “Nothing.” I roll my eyes, and remember that he can’t see me. Well, on the bright side, this mask comes in handy.

“Let’s get you down from there.” Andrew says, reaching out to me.

“No, I’m good. I just need someone to get rid of him.” My eyes lock onto my father’s mask. He’s so lucky he has that thing to hide behind.

“Kay baby, let’s get you down.” Zach now reaches out for me. Gods, these men are persistent.

“I just want to dance with my friend.” I shrug.

“You know, you have the right to challenge your father.” Little Red says nonchalantly. Challenge my father? I start to think about it.

“You have to publicly announce the challenge, then the stage is yours for the taking. No one can tell you no, even if you're a woman. These sexiest pigs think they're superior." She spits out, while the guys keep on insisting I get down.

“Fine. I challenge you, father, and when I win, I want you to excuse yourself from the Society!” I’m shaking in rage.

My feelings are a whirlwind. I’m sad, mad, and frustrated, and I feel like my heart is torn in half.

I honestly feel like there’s a knife in my back, but I will come out on top, if it’s the last thing I do.

“No, she doesn't know what she’s doing.” My father yells.

“Maybe not, but there’s nothing any of us can do. If that’s what she wants. then that’s what she gets. You know the rules.” Tommy replies to my father.

My Alpha's father speaks. “No Kay, you can’t, you don’t know how to fight.”

Andrew pushes his front against my back.

“This is a power game, sweet girl, and you can’t shift.

Even though your father is lower on the totem pole, I can’t have you get hurt.

I will break all our rules to save you.” He whispers, aggressively.

I know he’s upset by my outburst, but I need to do this for me!

“I also want to know about my mother.” I quickly blurt out.

“That's not happening.” My father remarks.

“That's not how it works, and you know it. You have to if she wins, you have to do what she requests.” Little Red steps up to my defense, her hands on her hips. It makes me smile to see how she can stand up to such large men. Nothing ever phases her

“This has to be just a stupid joke. You know this shouldn’t be allowed.” My father keeps demanding.

“Well, good thing you’re not in charge.” The guy’s father comes to stand next to my father. Isn’t this funny, the two people who I despise the most, right here in the same room.

“We will take this to the pit tomorrow night.” Everyone cheers around us. “Let’s get back to tonight’s agenda.” With that, the music and dancing start back up.

“You know, you can’t fool us old man. You're not getting your hands on our Omega ever again.” Zach spits out every word into his fathers face. I am still so thankful the mask is hiding all my expressions. I’m disgusted with everything.

“Little Red, why did you do that?” I hear the men all talking to her.

“She’s my friend, and I’m going to help her find her peace.” Little Red replies to everyone around.

I smile. I have never had a friend before. “My friend. I have a friend?”

“Of course you do! I hope you know you're stuck with me for life.” Little Red says with a giggle.

“Everyone, take your seats. The show's about to start.” The guys’ father announces.

The guys pull me down to our seats. “Be very quiet Kay, just watch it, or close your eyes if you have to. The mask will hide all your reactions. Other than that, don’t move, don't whimper. Please, just be our good girl tonight.” Zach pleads with me.

“No promises, but I’ll try my best.” I can’t make a promise to something I have no idea about. Tommy pinches me and I jump. “What’s that for?” I ask.

“Kay, I don’t want any problems tonight. I really don’t feel like cutting anyone up in front of you. I’m really trying to be a gentleman, so please behave.”

I put my hand on my sides, popping my hip. “What’s that supposed to mean?” I sass.

“Look, something is going on with your Omega, and it’s causing her to become aggressive and irritable." Zach talks to me so calmly as if it’s just a common fact, like the sky being blue.

“Ok.” We take our seats.

Everyone around us still wears their mask as the lights dim. “Gentlemen, we have a surprise for you.” The announcer comes over the speaker. ‘Nice, no mention of women whatsoever’, I think as I roll my eyes.

“We have a lot to talk about after this.” Zach lets me know, before turning to look at the makeshift stage. The guy's father steps up to the platform.

“I have been working on changing Syrup. I wasn't sure what would be the answer, until recently.” He stops, and looks towards me. Even with the mask on, I have a gut wrenching feeling that there’s more to this than I know.

I think the guys get the same feeling, because they keep turning from me, then back to their father.

A man with raggedy clothes comes out onto the stage.

“I want to show you how strong our Syrup is, and to show everyone what we are trying to show the world, that this could be ours.” He makes his little speech.

Another guy walks on the stage looking like a living corpse.

Their father takes a cap off a syringe with his teeth and shoves the needle into the walking corpse.

His body convulses, as the pigment of his skin comes back to life, his bones breaking and creaking, as his body bows, then his screams send chills down my spine.

All of a sudden, he drops to the floor and stops moving.

Then, as if nothing happened, he jumps up to his feet again.

“Syrup has the ability to heal you, and make you 100 times stronger than you were before. There are side effects though. It only lasts so long, so every one is different, and the crash is insufferable.” Andrew whispers.

A loud thud makes me turn to look at what’s going on the stage.

“You see, look at what this can do. This could make us unstoppable. We would be on top of the food chain, and no one would be able to stop us.” He continues on with his speech.

He shoves a needle into the other man’s neck, and I watch as the same thing happens to him.

It’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to watch, as his bones pop out and the color of his skin changes.

It looks like he’s dying, but then somehow, he comes back to life, all because of this “Syrup”.

“That stuff is highly addictive, and that’s why we depend so much on our shipments.

Once you try it, it’s very hard to get off of it.

” Zach whispers on my other side. “Most end up physically killing themselves by shredding their skin and bones apart one by one. It’s one of the things that we’ve been trying to figure out for a while now.

It is hard to perfect the Syrup. Every batch comes out a little bit different from the previous ones.

” He finishes telling me. “We usually get a shipment every week, but the last few have been missing. My thought is someone’s stopping the shipment.

Could it be the other families? We really aren’t sure. ” He continues.

I look to see the first guy that was given the shot. He starts to slump and become tired. Blood is flowing from his wounds from the other guy. It looks like a full blown blood bath.

“I need more! Please give me more, don't do this to me.” He begs on his hands and knees. While he’s a pathetic mess, the other guy is not having any of the same side effects.

“I found the secret ingredient, with no more side effects! No more shredding your body to pieces.” The crowd gasps and goes into a frenzy.

“Calm down.” He orders, and the crowd seizes all commotion.

“The only problem is, that this ingredient is so rare and valuable, we don’t have much of it available.

” His voice drops. “Perhaps, I’ll have to figure out a way to get more.

” The way he says it, is almost like he’s talking to himself, more so than the audience.

“Can we leave yet? This vagina plug is making me feel funny.” I give a pathetic excuse.

Honestly, it’s making me feel turned on at the worst time possible.

I look back towards the stage, and I see the one guy doing exactly as I was told, his claws are out and he’s gashing at his body over and over again, gnawing on his bones also.

Crunch. Crunch. I think I’m going to throw up in this mask. I definitely can’t keep watching this.

“Please, let’s go. This is torture to watch. Does he have any care for life?”

Andrew snorts. “If you mean his own life, for sure, but to care for any other person, being, monster, whatever you wanna call it, absolutely not.” He shrugs like it’s not a big deal.

“Well, I just can’t do this, it's way too much. I think I’m going to be sick.” The unfolding is horrific, one out of nightmares. I stand up to leave, because I just can’t help it, my feet guide me away, while other masked people turn to look at me. I can’t let anyone get to me. I just keep walking.

“Kaylynn, where do you think you're going?” Their father is all but screaming.

My feet want to stop, but I know I can't. I don't want to be wrapped up in these men’s games.

“Grab her, she can’t just walk away from a formal meeting.” My Alphas all stand up.

“Over our dead mother fucking bodies, father. Unless you want a blood bath, I suggest you cut your theatrics.” Zach stands at his full height.

His shoulders tighten and I can see his body ripple into affect.

His claws start to extract, as fur slowly starts to show.

“Back away now, because I'm ready to rip your throat out, and hang your body from the rafters for everyone to see what we do to our traitors.” Ha!

“Me? A traitor? How can I be a traitor, if I’m the one who rules it all?

” He smirks in delight, as if he has something hanging over their heads.

“This is mine.” He spins around in a circle with his hands up in the air.

“Whatever I say goes.” He shrugs his shoulders as if everyone means nothing to him.

He’s not worried about me or the guys. “Go ahead, test me, and see what happens.”

“You think that this is yours?” Zach practically growls. “You're losing your damn mind, old man. These people aren’t loyal to you, look around. Everyone here has turned their allegiance to my brothers and I, and Kay is a part of us. She is not yours by any means.”

“Until they find out that your little prized possession here, is the very ingredient that is needed in Syrup.” His fangs come out, and claws extract.

“Kay over here is our secret little ingredient. What did you guys think I was doing with her?” He laughs, tilting his head back.

“She is everything that we need, so is she valuable? Yes, but she is not yours, because this society needs her in order for the Syrup to work. If this doesn’t work, we are going to have a lot more problems on our hands than you can even think about. ” He hisses through his teeth.

“I don’t give a fuck what the case is, she is not yours, and you are not going to touch her or use her for anything.

” Zach is so furious, I can see that he’s on the verge of a full shift.

I look around to see where everyone else is at.

Where’s the rest of my Alphas? They should be around here somewhere, right?

The lights start to flicker, and they start strobing on and off.

My head gets so dizzy, but I still try so hard to see what’s going on.

It’s dark, then lights turn back on, and then back to total darkness.

This is when I wish I had wolf senses. Don’t the guys have wolf senses?

My Omega giggles for a second, but really, everything is so serious right now.

A scream makes my ears perk up, as I try to figure out where it’s coming from.

“I told you, you can’t fucking touch me! You can't, there's no way! This is mine! All of this is mine! You wouldn’t have any of this, if it wasn’t for me!” The sound of claws on the floor makes me cringe.

“Let me go!” He shrieks.

“None of us are going to let you go, especially not after what you said about Kay. Do you think we are that stupid? Because I’m gonna tell you right now, our mate, she is here to stay, and she will rule the Society with us.

You kidnapped our mate, ran experiments on her, and have been messing around with Syrup.

You’re probably the one who’s been messing with our shipments too. ”

“Now, that was not me. That wasn’t me.” He just keeps repeating himself over and over.

“Okay, so maybe you have nothing to do with the shipments, but you’re still tampering with the Syrup, and now you’re using our mate, and that’s just something that we cannot stand for.”

The lights flipped back on, and it looks like total chaos has hit the room.

Blood spatters the walls, the curtains to the VIP sections are loosely hanging by threads.

The wall art is drooping, claw marks line the walls, and there’s a few bodies laying still on the floor; there's no way they are alive.

I slowly swallow my saliva. No, no.
