43. Epilogue
Kaylynn
“Jenny stop, eating the dog food.” I yell.
“But why mama. Tommy Junior gets to eat it all the time..” Jenny asks.
“Tommy Junior is not eating dog food. He’s just being crazy, you know that.” I respond to her.
“Whatever.” Jenny says, as she stomps away on her little feet.
I love all my kids. I wouldn’t change it for the world. All my kids have the ability to shift, except Abby. She looks and talks just like me. I really did get blessed.
“Kay, come on, we're going to be late.” Zach yells from the hall.
“Don’t wait for me, I'll be down in a little while. Why don’t you get everyone ready to go.” I shout back to him.
I swear I’m starting to get gray hairs. I'm so stressed. No one ever tells you the hard parts about being a parent. My life is not mine, but sadly, it never was. But I wouldn’t change a thing about it, but something has to give. I need a break.
“Kay, you need to get down here now, please.” Andrew yells up this time.
“Go. I’ll be out in a minute. Just give me a second.” I yell, getting annoyed.
They are so demanding, but that has never changed. My mates softened up after the children, but in the end, they are still the men they always have been.
“I can see everything you're doing Kay, you know this. Get down stairs to the others, before they blow a gasket, please.” Mathew comes on over the intercom.
“Fuck! Just give me some privacy, will you?” I ask as nicely as I can, without showing more of my annoyance.
“Kay Baby, what’s wrong? Do you need me to throw you over my leg?” Tommy shouts up to me. That’s fucking embarrassing. I exhale slowly, trying to stay calm.
You know the other thing no one tells you, is how lonely you can be, even after having kids and husbands. I look around and head to my bathroom. I turn on the faucet and open the window. Sometimes you just need a moment to yourself to breathe, and pull yourself back together, before anyone notices.
My cell starts ringing and I pull it out.
“Hey Red, how's everything?” I ask quietly.
“Girl, can you go out tonight?” I look around.
“I mean that depends.” I laugh. “Can I go? I definitely need a break.” I sigh.
“Girllll, me too. I can’t take this shit anymore. The house is roaming with little cars and Barbies with heads I want to pop off.” Red sounds so frustrated, I can feel it through the phone.
“Will your guys know about this?” I ask, out of curiosity.
“Hell no! I’m going to change and go. The kids will be fine with their dads.” She sasses.
I laugh. “You’re right, the dads can put up with the kids for one night!” I laugh so hard. “Give me a couple of minutes. Are we meeting over at Knotted in Chocolate?” I ask. I mean there’s not many places to go.
“Yeah, I’ll meet you there.” She says.
“Alright, I’ll see you there. Bye!” I tell her, as I hang up the phone. Taking a deep breath in, I release it. I go close the window, and turn off the water.
“You guys go without me. I'm honestly feeling very sick.” I actually am feeling a little under the weather, so it’s not a total lie. Right?
The guys come upstairs, each giving me a kiss, saying their goodbyes.
I carefully wait, until I hear the cars start up and leave.
The only thing I have to get around now is the surveillance system, but luckily, I have been living here for over 10 years now.
It’s not that I’m a prisoner, but I feel bad and guilty that I wanted time away from the kids.
Does this make me a horrible mom? I shake my head, putting my face in my palms.
None of that. Is everything ok? I feel the distress coming down the links. Zach asks.
He's such a wonderful husband. They all are.
I’m fine. I'm just exhausted and don’t feel so well. I reply to his question.
I try to give away nothing, because I don’t want anyone stressing over me.
I feel my head, and I am slightly hot. Must be this stuffy room.
I go back to my bathroom and open the balcony window.
I still have my own room, but one or all of the guys are always with me, which I love.
I go down the stairs that were put in place for me, so I could easily go down to the small garden.
I was given this a year after our formal ceremony.
I’m spoiled to death, me and all eight kids; two with each of my Alphas’.
We have no number on how many, we just decided a long time ago that will just flow with it.
The goddess will give us what we're meant to have. I jump into my blacked out SUV and take off. I’m sure the guys will say something soon.
Andrew
The link feels off. We were able to repair what was done to Kay years ago luckily, because to not have a link with my mate, was absolute torture.
“Dad! Dad! Where's mommy?” My daughter asks.
“She’s not feeling well. We will see her after dinner.” I calmly reply.
I close the link off to Kay, and just connect to my brothers.
What’s going on? Something seems off with Kay.
“She left.” Mathew casually says, as he taps away on his tablet.
“What? Where is she headed?” This isn't like Kay at all. “We can follow the GPS.” I say.
“Actually, she disabled that. She must really be paying attention to me, because her phone is off too.” Mathew says.
Kaylynn
I pull up and look out at the sign, Knotted in Chocolate.
I love this place. It’s run by best friends and their mates.
It's its own society, and they have their own rules.
My mates do business with them, but I try to stay out of the trades and deals.
That mafia shit is on them. This place is a fantasy shop, and in front there's a cafe. The back holds all the fun stuff for adults. Rooms for anything and everything, from BDSM to voyeurism. They have even weird things like craft rooms, and rooms to read in. This is truly Angelica’s dream come to life! I head in and go straight for the cafe.
“Can I get a mocha please, with extra whip?” I ask the cashier kindly.
I take a seat in the very back away from the window, and my stomach starts to cramp. Shit! Gods, not tonight. My Omega whines. She won't stay still. I just want to leap up and shift, let my fur out, and glide my body on the cool floor. I start to pant.
“Hey…..girl.” The words linger in the air, as Red comes up to me.
Turning to the cashier, “ Can I get the keys to the master nest please.”
Without any hesitation, he turns the keys over to Red, as his eyes linger on me. Oh yeah, it's happening.
“Do you want me to call Sugar Society, and get your mates down here?” He asks.
“Not yet.” Red tells him.
He nods, and goes back to making a coffee.
“Fuck, Kay. Why would you agree to go out if you knew you were going into heat at any time?” Red gives me a look.
“Look, I’m so tired of being this fucking puppy dog.”
Red snickers. “I mean you are kind of a dog.”
I roll my eyes at her antics. “I am not a fuckin dog Red. I’m a wolf, there’s a big difference." I defend myself.
“Yeah. Sure. Ok, whatever helps you sleep at night.” Red walks in front of me.
“Please, just hurry Red.” I grip my stomach, and my words sound so quiet to my ears. Luckily, her fox ears pick up a lot.
When we get to the end of the hall, she pulls out the keys that the barista handed her. A loud bang comes from the front.
“Red, just get that door open.” I say through my clenched teeth. I’m so fucked. The lights flash and flicker, before turning off. “No.” I scream. This is such a shitty night.
I just wanted time with Red. The kids are driving me insane, and I feel like my mates, even though they truly are amazing, they just don’t understand things sometimes.
There’s so much put onto a woman, with too many standards.
If a dad is tired, then he must work hard for the family. If a mother is tired, she’s just lazy.
I fall against the wall in the hallway, until my ass hits the carpet.
Tommy
We dropped the kids off with a sitter, and immediately figured out where Kay was. The sweetest candy smell tickles my nose. My Alpha purrs at the scent. “She’s in heat.” I tell my brothers, and they groan.
“Fuck. I think Kay needs a spanking.” Andrew says and I couldn’t agree more.
We noticed Kay tends to act out at times when she needs to be reminded who we are, and that we’re her Alphas. Time to give our girl what she needs.
“We need to show her who her daddies are.” I pull my mask from my back pocket, pulling it on, and I snicker. It’s showtime.
Mathew cuts the lights from his phone. “Man, that must be nice, you just hit a button, and boom darkness.” I tell him, my jealousy showing a little.
He laughs and shrugs. “Sure man.” I push open the door, and Red is standing there with the keys in her hands.
“Go sit at the tables where your mates are waiting for you.” Her face pales, as she walks down the hallway.
Turning, I see Kay slouched on the floor grasping her stomach. My sweet little Omega. I lift her into my arms and stroke her face. “It’s ok, we have you.” I turn and Andrew shuts the door behind us, as I lay her down on the couch in the room.
“You know, you could have just told us you needed space baby Kay, we would have given it to you.” Andrew tells her in her ear, even though we can all hear it regardless. She whimpers, and lifts her head.
“You're the love of our lives, Kaylynn. You gave us everything we have ever wanted. We have a home, our children, and you. What more could we ask for?” Mathew crosses his arms over his chest.
“Sometimes, it just gets to be so much. Being a mom is wonderful, but so draining. I just feel like you guys don’t understand how much is on me every day, and to be the best mate I can, to not just one, but four mates.” She whimpers, while holding her stomach.
“Should I show you what happens when you don’t communicate with your Alphas?” I grab her ass, tearing off her pants.
