Ours was great but not as interesting as Max’s…

Oh reeeaaalllyyyy. Maxwell? Speak up, I can’t hear you all the way down under here.
Me
I don’t think that’s how the phrase works, man. But yeah, interesting is a word for it. I’d even go as far as to say today was a really good day.
Wells
yeah? That’s great, Max. I was thinking about you guys with it kicking off the first holiday season after… everything.
Me
Appreciate that. I could say the same for you and Tinsley though. Did you guys get to relax a bit? She works nonstop.
Jack
She absolutely should have taken more time off. She works way too hard; she needed more time off
Wells
ha! That’s rich coming from you, man. If you tell my darling sister that, can I witness it, please?!
Wells
But seriously, we had a good holiday and it was nice to have some down time between her shows.
Always a bit weird to celebrate a holiday where the locals don’t partake in the festivities but I’m not mad about the Aussie sunshine.
Allie, Tinsley, and I had a low-key day, we had way too much food catered in and watched movies. It was great.
Me
How are the girls feeling? Is everything still healing alright for Tinsley?
Jack
Tinsley is a warrior.
Wells
Ahem. I think he was asking her brother, but yeah she’s amazing. Still a long way to go but we’ll get there. Allie is doing well overall, they’re both seeing therapists and doing the work to heal in all the ways. It’s going to take time.
Wells
But back to your Thanksgiving, what made it so good?
Me
Honestly? Broken ovens and hidden pantries.
Wells

Lol not the response I expected.
Wells
I didn’t know the combination of lol worked on your phone, Jack. Should I warn Tinsley you aren’t feeling well?
Jack

Now that sounds more like my bestie.

But seriously, I need to hear this story. I’ll call you in a few hours, don’t leave your phone on silent, Max!

Why do you like to talk on the phone so much?
Me

Wells
Despite NOT feeling the love right now, I do want you two assholes to know how incredibly thankful I am for you, especially with the epic shitshow of the last five weeks. I don’t know how I would’ve navigated or survived it without you both.
Jack
We always have your back, man, without hesitation. You know this.
Me
Same here. You both proved that to me as well in the last year in ways I never would’ve expected and I’m beyond grateful, not just to have a career I love, but for your loyalty and friendship through everything.
Wells
Love you too, Max. But seriously don’t leave your phone on silent and miss my call. I need to know about the broken oven. I’ve fixed a lot of things but never an oven, could be fun!
Jack
Wells, he doesn’t need you to fix an oven.

The oven is indeed broken. I promise my phone will not be on silent.

Max?? I want the scoop! I feel left out. This is why I should have dragged you all to Sydney with me. I don’t like missing things.
