36. Blaine
Chapter thirty-six
Blaine
F uck .
Her name isn’t Renee. Just like I did that first night we met, she deceived me with lies to get me in bed with her.
It all makes sense. The fear in her eyes when she asked if someone would come in three years ago. How she never texted me back. The fact I haven’t seen her in almost three years.
The rest of practice is a blur.
“Mitch, c’mon!” Someone yells at me for missing another pass. I just got announced as one of the alternate captains; I need to get my head in the fucking game.
Somehow, I manage to make it through the rest of practice without losing my shit, but the second I’m in the locker room, I grab my phone to ask Libby for details.
Me: Who is that girl?
Me: Libby? Who is she?
Libby: Her name is Raven
Me: But who is she?
Me: Why are Laur and Lucas on edge ?
Libby: Don’t tell anyone, okay?
Me: You know I won’t.
Me: You can trust me.
Libby: She’s Lucas’ ex-girlfriend.
Libby: They dated all of high school until his freshman year of college.
Libby: No idea why she is here.
Libby: Shit’s about to get messy.
Panic consumes me and nausea fills my gut, surging through me like I’m seasick.
Fuck .
Not only did I sleep with Lucas’ ex-girlfriend days ago while I’m trying to turn a new leaf and stop being the infamous bad boy of the hockey team, but I hooked up with her three years ago when she was still his girlfriend.
There’s no way he can know. Right?
