Chapter 10
After he struggled a little with the sweet potato stew, Matt got more comfortable making dinner. Bailey wouldn't have minded doing it himself, but Matt usually had things handled so he didn't need to.
That night, Matt made sausage with rice and vegetables on the side. It was basic but good. Then as they were cleaning up in the kitchen, Matt mentioned that he would be going out when he was done with work that evening.
"Good for you. You work hard, you deserve to have fun," Bailey told him, but he was disappointed he wouldn't get to spend time with Matt, especially after Joey went to bed.
So far they had just watched some stuff together, or Matt would play a video game while Bailey was reading. But tonight was a reminder to Bailey that he shouldn't get used to that kind of thing.
Later on, Matt got ready to go. That just meant he was wearing a different shorts and t-shirt combination. Of course he looked hot in anything.
Bailey wanted to ask him where he was going, who he was going out with, but he didn't let himself pry. He wanted Matt to feel comfortable living there, and an interrogation before he went out wouldn't help with that. He was dying to know though.
Late into the night, Bailey was still up splitting his time between not reading a book and not watching what he had playing on the TV. Though he knew he shouldn't, he couldn't help waiting for Matt to come home.
His friend from work, Verna, texted with him and demanded some pics of the beach house and the view from the beach house. Because he was a good friend, Bailey also sent her a picture of Matt and Joey playing beach basketball. She really appreciated that.
"That is a pretty view," she texted back. "You're living the life, and I'm so jealous."
After that, Bailey talked to his friend Kyle, updating him on what he had been up to, how he was now staying at the beach house. This was the first time Kyle was hearing about him hiring a manny and he had words of wisdom.
"That manny better be butt ugly."
"He is the opposite, as opposite as it gets," Bailey informed him.
Kyle didn't mince words about that either. "You fool, you utter fool."
Bailey laughed, and he couldn't say that Kyle was wrong. "Matt is a great guy first, and everything else second. He's a big help and I really respect his work ethic. It's unmatched."
"Oh, my god. You're in love," Kyle gasped.
"That's what you heard? That was respect, maybe some admiration," Bailey insisted then he wanted to get off the subject of Matt. "Now let's stop talking about it and you tell me what bad decisions you've been making so I can judge you."
They talked for some time longer, and then Bailey went back to trying to read. After a while, he noticed how late it was and he wondered if Matt might stay out all night. It would hardly be surprising. At least then he wouldn't catch Bailey staying up to wait for him.
Deciding to go to bed, Bailey got up but went out on the porch first. It was nice to look out at the beach and the ocean before going to sleep. He breathed in deep, taking in the salty sea breeze, feeling the cool night air.
Just as he was about to go back inside, Bailey noticed something on the beach. No, it was someone lying right where the sand rose so he didn't notice him right away.
Going over, it took only a few steps and he saw a blond head. That made him think it might be Matt and he started running. It was Matt though he was shirtless.
"Matt?" Bailey said, kneeling next to him. "Are you okay?"
Matt moved sleepily, and his eyes opened slowly. "Hey," he said, his voice low and a smile on his face.
"Are you alright?" Bailey asked again and leaned over him.
"I'm good," Matt said and he stretched out on the sand, the muscles of his chest and arms on display. Bailey tried not to stare. He was worried about him, but maybe he was just drunk.
"Matt, are you drunk?"
Matt grinned up at him. "You bet I am. But I'm not passed out drunk. I'm good," he claimed though he was slurring his words as he explained himself. "I just didn't want to come in all drunk and clumsy and disturb you guys."
"Were you going to lie on the beach all night?" Bailey asked.
"Wouldn't be the first time," Matt says. "When things got to be too much, you know."
Bailey didn't know but it made him worry that Matt was finding working for him stressful. He was smiling at Bailey now though.
"Come inside," Bailey told him.
"But everything is spinning," Matt moaned.
"I'll help you," Bailey said but when he tried, Matt pulled him down on top of him and laughed.
"Did you do that on purpose?" Bailey asks as he experienced way too much physical contact and bare skin.
As Bailey pulled away, Matt smiled at him and put his muscular arm around him. He was pulling him down again and holding him even closer. With his free hand, Matt caressed Baileys hair and face taking away his ability to speak or to move away even an inch.
"I know it's not OK, but..." Matt whispered but didn't finish as he pulled Bailey down for a kiss.
Matt's mouth tasted like beer and booze confirming that what he said was true, this wasn't OK. But Bailey found himself pressed against Matt's naked, muscular torso, feeling his erection through his shorts and how Matt moved his hips for more contact.
Bailey couldn't help grinding into him too, his tongue in Matt's mouth but then he realized they couldn't do this. Matt was drunk. That was why this was happening and why it couldn't happen.
He wanted so much to give himself up to this completely. It was painful to come to his senses and it was even more painful to stop kissing him. "No," Matt groaned as Bailey drew back.
"Someone might see us," Bailey said though that wasn't his main objection. It was just what he blurted out.
He shouldn't have let himself get carried away with Matt, not even for as long as he did. "Let's get you inside," Bailey said and got Matt to sit up. He let Matt lean on him as he helped him stand up.
Dropping his arm around Bailey, heavy and muscular, Matt asked drunkenly, "Am I in trouble?"
"No, I am," Bailey said.
"You're mad at me," Matt insisted.
"I'm mad at me. You're fine," Bailey assured him. "You just need some sleep."
Taking Matt inside, Bailey led him to his small bedroom and dropped him to lie on the bed. He then went to get a bottle of water. When he got back and tried to give it to him, he got pulled down on top of Matt again.
"No one can see us now," Matt said huskily. Bailey was in danger of getting carried away again.
"You're drunk, Matt," Bailey pointed out to him, not letting himself lose his head this time. Pushing away from Matt and getting to his feet, he took in the sight of this gorgeous man lying there half naked, his arm reaching out for him.
"I need you," Matt said, his voice thick.
"Drink some water. And sleep it off," Bailey told him and put the water bottle down.
"I can't sleep this off," Matt said and rubbed his hard cock through his shorts, squeezed it, making Bailey uncomfortably hard just from watching him.
He needed to stop doing that. Shutting his eyes to the sight of him, Bailey shook his head and made himself turn away. He got out of the room while he still could. As he closed the door, he wanted to bang his head against it. Nothing in his life had ever been sexier than Matt right now.
