Chapter 787 Which Clan Are You From?
Looking at the monkey alone, it did not seem much, but when placed next to Ye Xuanyue’s Little Monkey, it was clearly a whole size bigger.
Ever since Little Monkey had appeared out of thin air, its expression had been a bit off. It hesitated for a moment, then stared at the Spirit Beast in front of it for a long time.
Ye Xuanyue felt that… from her perspective as an onlooker, that look was practically one of infatuation. It was honestly a bit unsettling.
However, this so-called Lord Fei Lian clearly did not think so. It stared intently at Little Monkey, hesitated for a while, then finally spoke softly.
“Do you have family?”
A glimmer of confusion flashed in Little Monkey’s eyes, but it did not speak.
Lord Fei Lian looked seriously at Little Monkey, as though wanting to see every single hair clearly. Finally, its gaze rested on Little Monkey’s eyes. It spoke softly.
“You haven’t undergone your Awakening yet, have you?”
Little Monkey looked somewhat hesitantly at the monkey across from it.
Lord Fei Lian stared straight at Little Monkey, then suddenly turned its head to look at Ye Xuanyue. Its eyes darted around, clearly thinking about how to phrase its words. After quite a while, it finally spoke.
“Did you bring it here?”
Ye Xuanyue hesitated for a moment before replying.
“It’s my friend.”
“Friend…”
Lord Fei Lian seemed to chew over those two words. Its gaze shifted back to Little Monkey. It looked at it, then gently patted its head and said softly,
“Would you like to come with me to see a place?”
Little Monkey was slightly stunned. Its first reaction was to turn its head toward Ye Xuanyue. Seeing her nod, it was still hesitant and could not make up its mind. Ye Xuanyue smiled lightly, her voice soft.
“It might be good to go see.”
Little Monkey gritted its teeth, then finally spoke.
“Okay, I’ll go with you to see.”
Lord Fei Lian turned its head and glanced at Ye Xuanyue. Its tone sounded surprisingly excited.
“Seeing as you let me meet this Little Monkey… the Earth Flame is yours.”
After saying this, without any further ado, it instantly vanished with Little Monkey, leaving only Ye Xuanyue standing quietly in place. She blinked her eyes, still unable to process it all.
Little Monkey…
Little White sent her a mental message.
“It will be fine.”
“This might even be its opportunity.”
Ye Xuanyue took a deep breath. Right, since that was the case, she could only think positively.
She looked at the pitch-black deep hole before her, her expression somewhat calm...then she summoned Jiji.
Whether it could absorb the Earth Flame inside would depend on Jiji’s ability.
Little Monkey was still a bit dazed as it was taken away. It looked at the Spirit Beast before it, hesitating for a brief moment, but then heard it speak.
“I am Fei Lian.”
It did not call itself Lord Fei Lian this time. Its gaze was fixed seriously on Little Monkey, and then it spoke.
“Are you really from the human world?”
Little Monkey blinked twice but said nothing.
Sacred Beasts possessed Inherited Memories.
And within its Inherited Memories…
Seeing Little Monkey remain silent, Fei Lian frowned and asked,
“Have you never been to the Blazing Fire Pool?”
Little Monkey just blinked its eyes again, determined not to speak.
“Which clan’s descendant are you? You don’t know either?”
Fei Lian was rather at a loss with this Little Monkey. Although it could no longer truly be considered part of the clan...ever since it had left and come to Dark Abyss Canyon, it had essentially bid farewell to its past...seeing this Little Monkey before it, Fei Lian could not help but feel a bit of pity.
It looked intently at Little Monkey, then said in a low voice,
“Wait… let me show you something.”
On the other side.
Ye Xuanyue stood motionless in place. Jiji had already been inside the fissure for some time, and she was feeling a bit nervous. But presumably, the little Phoenix would not be coming out any time soon.
Leng Moran, seeing her nervous, lip-pursing expression, suddenly found this side of Ye Xuanyue rather adorable. He patted her shoulder and comforted her softly.
“It’s fine.”
“Relax a little.”
“Your Little Phoenix is so powerful, it shouldn’t have any problems.”
Absorbing Earth Flame was simply a Phoenix’s instinct.
Ye Xuanyue lowered her head, her expression faint, then she spoke.
“I know.”
“But after all, it’s been by my side. I worry I’ve let it down.”
Little Phoenix and Duoduo were both top-tier Divine Beasts. Duoduo had returned to its clan and, though it had suffered hardship, its future was now bright. Presumably, the Dragon Clan would spare no effort in providing Duoduo with the best resources. There was little for Ye Xuanyue to worry about there.
But Little Phoenix was different. If not for Ye Xuanyue...its future would be worrying. It, too, was clearly a top-tier Divine Beast, and rightly deserved to enjoy the world’s best resources.
Ye Xuanyue lowered her head slightly, her voice soft.
“I want them all to be well.”
This sentence was simple, but coming from Ye Xuanyue’s mouth, it felt warm and gentle.
In her heart, from beginning to end, there was always the softest place reserved for these Spirit Beasts who had accompanied her, sharing life and death along the way.
Leng Moran looked at the young woman beside him. Her expression was gentle, probably because her heart was warm at this moment, making her eyes seem soft as well. The wind stirred her hair. She stood atop the mountain summit, graceful and elegant, like a dancing, peerless Fairy.
She was so beautiful, so transcendentally lovely.
This kind of beauty made it seem as if nothing else in the world existed.
She was the girl he liked, wholeheartedly, never hesitating.
Warmth rippled in Leng Moran’s heart. He gently held her hand, as if he could feel the beating of her pulse and her heart. His voice softened unconsciously.
“Mm.”
He moved closer to Ye Xuanyue. Seen this way, her pupils seemed to hold a dark light, yet it was a gaze that could pierce right into a person’s heart.
Like melting streams in February...a trickling flow that never ceased, making one’s heart drown in her eyes.
He moved closer to her. Ye Xuanyue frowned slightly. The next second, she heard him lean close to her ear and whisper softly.
“I really, really like being with you.”
“Let’s be together forever, Xuanyue.”
“In this world, I only like you.”
A gentle breeze brushed her cheek.
The person beside her, his voice gentler than the wind.
It made one feel as if the air itself was swirling with sweet fragrance.
