Chapter 807 A Familiar Old Face

Ye Xuanyue stared at the snake and spoke softly.

“Oh?”

In fact, this snake’s cultivation strength was not weak; it appeared to be at least at the high level of Martial Venerable. But in the eyes of Ye Xuanyue and Leng Moran, it was clearly insignificant.

Her gaze carried a hint of amusement as she lifted her head and saw a dark figure rapidly approaching. This should be the “uncle” the snake had mentioned, right?

Ye Xuanyue blinked slightly and raised her eyes, letting out a soft sound of puzzlement.

“Huh?”

Why did this figure seem somewhat familiar to her?

The dark figure opposite looked at Ye Xuanyue, and his expression suddenly changed drastically. His voice instantly filled with hatred and resentment.

“It’s you?”

Ye Xuanyue looked at the creature covered in scales before her and suddenly felt like laughing. Wasn’t this the snake they had encountered back at the Cloud-Supporting Tower?

Later, Ye Xuanyue had realized that the snake’s human form back then had not been a true transformation at all. The transformation of a snake could not possibly retain such distinct scales, making it look more like a snake than a human. He had probably used some method to hide his true form—perhaps even some kind of illusion art.

That snake’s cultivation strength had not originally reached the Martial Emperor Realm. A transformation could not have been so complete. Now, looking at him, things were even clearer.

This snake’s cultivation strength was roughly at the mid-stage Martial King level. In the past, Ye Xuanyue had found it formidable. But now, she was no longer the same Ye Xuanyue who had entered the Cloud-Supporting Tower back then. This snake was truly not worth her attention.

Ye Xuanyue found it amusing. When this snake had tried to harass her before, could he ever have imagined today? Since he had come looking for trouble himself, he should not blame her for being ruthless.

The moment the snake saw Ye Xuanyue, his expression shifted slightly at first but soon turned into one of intense desire. This scent… wasn’t this the very scent that had haunted his thoughts?

Ye Xuanyue had always been particularly attractive to Spirit Beasts. Moreover, her aura was now even purer and cleaner, making it incredibly alluring to snake-type Spirit Beasts like him.

This spirit snake gave Ye Xuanyue the impression that he was about to drool at any moment—he eagerly wanted to get closer to her, and his voice sounded utterly disgusting.

“It really is you…”

“What a stroke of luck… hehehe…”

“This scent… how sweet the blood must be…”

Ye Xuanyue coldly glanced at the spirit beast. She could not even be bothered to move.

The next second, Little White suddenly leaped up. He had originally been curled in his master’s arms, sleeping soundly. Opportunities to sleep nestled against Ye Xuanyue like this were truly rare. She carried a faint fragrance that reminded him of when he had first followed her in the Spirit Tomb, the two of them depending on each other for survival. Back then, his beloved Xuanyue had often held him like this. He had found it especially wonderful.

But now, it was completely ruined by this intruder. His lewd laughter was nothing but unbearable noise.

The snake spirit beast, held by Leng Moran and unable to move, had initially felt a surge of wild joy upon seeing the newcomer, immediately wanting to shout, “Uncle, save me!” But the next second, his plea was abruptly swallowed back—because Little White’s claw slashed through his tough skin, making him scream in pain.

“Get away from here.”

Little White’s voice was fierce. He was genuinely angry. This creature that had disturbed his sleep truly deserved no mercy.

Ye Xuanyue silently watched her fiercely determined little white fox. She thought the snake’s fate would be quite miserable. Little White was not one to hold a small grudge.

With one swipe of his claw, Little White tore open the snake’s body. The snake’s eyes widened.

Wait… Hadn’t it only been a short time since the Cloud-Supporting Tower? This girl’s aura… how could it have risen to such a terrifying degree? Was she even human? How could there be such horrifying growth?

Little White could not be bothered with all that. When Lord Little White was angry, there was no need to consider so much. The straightforward approach was simply to strike.

The snake wished it could curl into a ball. Trembling, it looked at the little white fox but could not hide anywhere. Little White’s claws mercilessly left scratch marks all over its body.

By the time Little White had vented most of his anger, the snake did not have a single patch of unharmed skin left. It looked utterly pitiful.

Only then did Ye Xuanyue approach, clicking her tongue twice. A faint smile glinted in her clear eyes as she spoke.

“Well, let me ask you a question.”

“Where is your settlement?”

The snake pitifully glanced at the girl before him. His eyes still held a trace of longing, yet he dared not look too much. He could only lower his head, stubbornly refusing to speak.

Ye Xuanyue could not help but reflect on how fortunes had turned. Back at the Cloud-Supporting Tower, this snake could have plunged her into great crisis, but now, it was being thrashed. Indeed… power was the ultimate truth.

Leng Moran blinked. The next moment, he applied a bit more force. The snake in his hand had already been trembling with fear. Startled by Leng Moran, it immediately blurted out,

“I’ll talk, I’ll talk! Our clan isn’t far from here. It’s hidden in the hinterland behind Ancient Ning Peak. You… please don’t kill us… Our clan is not some small group… If… if you kill us, you won’t be able to get away…”

But Leng Moran frowned. He glanced at Ye Xuanyue. Deciding what to do with these two snakes was indeed a problem.

Ye Xuanyue’s expression remained calm.

“If they go back, they will surely mobilize their forces to surround us.”

“That is undoubtedly true.”

Leng Moran knew this as well. He smiled lightly and said softly,

“How about I make a deal with your clan?”

The snake stared blankly at Ye Xuanyue and Leng Moran. In its mind, it thought these two humans must have gone mad. A deal? What kind of deal? Were they insane?

Ye Xuanyue’s expression remained composed as she looked at the barely-alive snake and spoke softly.

“Your clan must be quite large and know a fair bit, right? We naturally have something to exchange with you.”

Ye Xuanyue blinked playfully and then said,

“Consider yourselves hostages. Take us to your clan. Don’t think about trying anything. Otherwise…”

A faint trace of cunning flashed in Ye Xuanyue’s gaze.

“You will definitely regret it.”

Her voice was clear and cold, inexplicably sending chills through the hearts of these two unfortunate snake spirit beasts.
