2. Felix #3

After minutes of chasing her around, I tackled Dream, knocking her down onto the floor as my knees pinned her flat.

She laughed hysterically, smearing more paint across my face as I, too, lost myself and laughed alongside her.

I carefully grabbed her arms and forced them above her head as my face hovered over hers, our rapid breathing mixing as I looked into her eyes.

“Felix,” I huffed. She blinked, looking confused. “My name…is Felix.”

Her face softened. “Nice to meet you, Felix. My name's Danika. Danika Dream. Though most people call me Dream.” She paused. “I’d shake your hand, but, um…” Her eyes raised, her torso arching slightly against me as she looked at her arms.

“Dream.”

She looked at me with those wide eyes. “Stalker.”

My jaw clenched as I looked deep into her honey-colored gaze, the pain-stained tips of my hair brushing along her face. “Felix,” I growled softly. “Say it. Say my name.”

Please.

Dream rested her head back against the floor, paint smeared all through her hair and along her face. She lifted her mouth into a smile, while shaking her head. “Make me.”

A high-pitched sound rang through the speaker, interrupting the moment as the voice of the woman from the front desk shrieked through it. “Umm…everything okay?”

The voice startled me enough that Dream was able to slide her arms free and sit up.

She shot her head back and looked at the camera.

“All good!” The music resumed after hearing her response.

She stood up and offered her hand out to me, helping me to my feet.

“What do you say we switch things up a bit…Felix?” My heart nearly stopped at the way she spoke my name, perfectly drawing out the last syllable with a naughty little smile.

I mirrored the expression and lifted my safety glasses, resting them atop my head. “What did you have in mind?”

She reached out and grabbed a handful of my protective coverall, leading me out into the hall.

We both laughed like clueless children, running through the building until we finally stopped outside a set of blacked-out double doors.

Dream released her grip on me and spun around, then walked backward toward the closed doors.

“Pretty sure I know the answer, but have you ever shot a gun before?”

Almost every day.

Instead of answering her question, I crossed my arms and looked her up and down. “Have you?”

Dream just smiled and kicked the doors open.

Inside was a giant room lit purely in blacklight.

Neon and glowing paint covered every surface, and instead of random piles of junk, there seemed to be numerous obstacles and targets similar to what you’d find in an actual shooting range.

And even further into the room was what appeared to be a maze.

The whole thing resembled a mix of an indoor paintballing experience and a gun range. Just…more colorful.

“This isn’t another rage room, is it?” I asked.

Dream excitedly shook her head. “Nope!” She picked up what looked to be a glow in the dark BB gun and offered it to me.

“This is called the Playroom…and that’s exactly what we’re going to do.

” I took the BB gun from her as she raised a second one and pulled the trigger, shooting me in the face with brightly-colored paint. “Whoops!”

I wiped the yellow paint from my face and pulled the protective lenses down with a tight jaw. “I take it you know how to shoot?” I asked, wiping my glasses.

Dream nodded. “Yup. My daddy taught me when I was seven.” She aimed the BB gun at me perfectly, her posture and stance exactly as it should be.

“Used to have me shoot old cans from the back porch of our trailer with an old rifle he kept above the doorway in our living room.” She smiled.

“One of the many things he taught me before he died.”

My own smile fell at her words and I mustered the only response I could think of. “Oh.”

Dream looked at me, confused. “What? You didn’t know?” I didn’t speak. “Figured you’d know everything about me by now. Huh.” She blinked. “Yeah, so both my parents are dead. They died when I was sixteen and I’ve been on my own ever since.”

“No siblings?” I asked, already knowing the answer.

Dream shook her head. “Nope. But I always wanted a sister.”

I scoffed. “Hell, you can have mine. She’s a bit of a handful. Though I doubt her twin brother would let her go, so you’d be stuck with both of them.” I froze, realizing I let too much slip.

Dream’s eyes lit up like fireworks. “Oh my gosh! You have siblings?!” I nodded. “Ahh! I have to meet them one day!”

“No!” I snapped. “I mean…” I pulled the trigger and shot her in the face with more paint.

“Whoops.” She yelped, shooting me back. “Oh, you’re going down, cottontail!

” Dream screamed and ran toward the maze, shooting more paint at me as she did so.

I laughed, getting her back as we ran into the small maze.

We must’ve spent at least an hour running around, shooting and tagging one another.

We threw more paint-filled water balloons and refilled our BB guns, just letting go.

It all felt so carefree and innocent, leaving the weight of my job and past behind me.

My stomach hurt from how much she’d made me laugh, the two of us behaving like children.

And I was beaming with such forgotten emotions…

like that warm, fuzzy feeling you get when you realize how much something can make you feel.

Only it was her making me feel. And for the first time in forever, I felt alive.

“Oh, Felix!” She sang my name, and it was enough to throw me off as I spun around, apparently, a little too excited to meet another face full of glowing paint. Dream’s squeal and laughter filled my ears and made my heart do a backflip. And I had finally had enough.

I’m done playing nice.

I threw my BB gun down and charged her, picking her entire body up in one effortless motion, and slammed her into the nearby wall.

She gasped, wrapping her arms and legs around me as I held her.

“Easy,” she cooed. “I’ve always heard that stalkers can escalate to violence…

but I’m not like most girls. I won’t shy away from it. ”

Fuck me.

I tightened my grip around her, gently pushing her even more against the wall. “Stop calling me that,” I growled.

“What? Stalker?” she teased. “Why don’t you try asking me nicely?

Hmm?” She tilted her head, purposely rocking her pelvis against my body.

“Go on…I’m waiting.” Every inch of my body tensed, my dick fighting to stay restrained beneath my jeans.

And the worst part? She knew exactly what she was doing to me. And she fucking liked it.

“Say my name…” I slowly leaned my head toward her, pulling her body even closer.

Her spine curved and she arched into me, letting me take control.

“Please?” I whispered the single word, my mouth hovering over hers.

I slid one of my hands from her waist, taking my time as I followed her curves and reached her chest. My fingers glided along her body, tugging the zipper of her coveralls down, and the entire time, her eyes remained locked onto me, starving for more.

“Please,” I whispered again, reaching under her micro shirt to find she wasn’t wearing a bra.

I quivered, feeling just how fucking perky her nipples were as I brushed my fingertips along them.

I could hear her breathing increase and felt her thighs tighten around my waist.

God, I want her so fucking bad…right here, right now.

Dream’s hand gently tipped my chin, her fingernail scraping the underside of my jaw as she closed the space between. “Felix,” she whispered into my gaping mouth. Her smell engulfed me and I felt as though I was drowning in it, struggling to breathe the air around us as my heart raced in my chest.

If I die, leave me. This is exactly where I want to be.

We inched closer and closer until our lips almost met. And then, the doors to the playroom shot open. “Oh my god!” a voice shouted from the right of us, and the sound of someone gasping could be heard as they just stood there and gawked. “Uhh…sorry, but—”

I snatched the BB gun from Dream’s hand and swung it in their direction, aiming while barely moving my body. “This room’s occupied.”

The couple standing in the doorway looked at one another before looking back at us. “Um…we just reserved it—”

My head remained turned over my shoulder as I spoke to them. “So you can either watch, or get the fuck out. Your choice.”

“But—”

I pulled the trigger and unloaded the entire BB gun, shooting what felt like an endless amount of paint at them. It covered their eyes and faces, forcing them back until they finally realized I didn’t give a fuck, and then shut the doors behind them.

“Fuckers.” I turned back to focus on what really mattered—Dream. She was beaming, her smile reaching ear to ear, her cheeks flushed. “What’s got you all flustered?” I asked teasingly.

She bit her lower lip. “You’re fucking crazy…” She pulled me closer, bringing her mouth to mine as she breathed, “Felix.” And at the sound of my name, I fucking broke.

My hand gripped her breast tight, pushing my pelvis against her body as her spine ground against the graffiti wall.

Our mouths crashed into one another, sucking the air out of our lungs as we completely lost ourselves.

I felt dizzy from the surge of adrenaline shooting through my veins. And all I fucking wanted was her.

Dream’s nails found their way beneath my coveralls, one hand scraping along my back as I held her while she played with my hair. Her body rocked against me, grinding against my cock as I tried to hold back. A faint moan trickled from her mouth and I swallowed it, thirsty for more.

The speakers screeched again as the same employee’s voice shouted over the music. “You guys can’t do that in there.”

I pretended to ignore her, enjoying myself way too much.

“Ugh. I know you can hear me,” the employee groaned.
