CHAPTER TWELVE

KIEF

The private physician finished wrapping my hand with a fresh set of bandages, then reminded me which medication to take for pain. I still couldn’t believe Felix’s little slut had the balls to shoot me, leaving my hand disfigured.

Crazy fucking cunt.

The physician tried to talk to me about the aftercare of my injury, but I was in no mood to deal with them.

“Get the fuck out,” I snapped, ripping my arm away.

She seemed to pass my aggression off with a smile, as if she presumably cared about my health.

“I said get the fuck out!” The physician scuttled from the room.

Pathetic.

One of my men entered as she left.

“What?” I snapped, storming to the liquor cabinet. I snatched a bottle of bourbon, drinking straight from it.

The man cleared his throat. “Sources tell us Felix was detained at the scene of the crash. Detectives tried to interview him, but someone got to the police chief before we could.”

I wiped my mouth. “Did he walk?”

He nodded. “His lawyer, a man by the name of Hui, escorted him out himself. Him and the woman.”

I rolled my eyes, fighting back a headache.

“Fucking Hui, always sticking his nose in everyone’s business.

” I took another swig of bourbon. “Put more pressure on the police. Squeeze them until they have no choice but to go after those fucking Osvaldo siblings.” I looked down at the gold signet ring.

“Where’s Felix now?” The man pulled his phone from his jacket as it buzzed. “Well?”

He looked up at me with an odd expression. “It seems Ray has returned.”

I smiled instantly. “Oh, has he now? I’m curious to know how things went with him and our little white-haired friend. Send him in.” He nodded and left. I plopped down on the nearby lounge chair, groaning at how excruciatingly painful it was to even set my hand down.

Fucking Felix…just had to wreck everything, didn’t you?

My man returned with Ray.

“Fuck me…what the hell happened to you?” I asked, pointing to him.

His cheeks were clawed up, his face was bruised, and he had a bandage along his collarbone, while walking with a slight limp.

Ray bit his tongue. I stood from my chair and strolled over to him, holding the bottle of bourbon. “I said…what the hell happened to you?”

He clenched his jaw, finally opening his mouth to speak. “I did what you asked. I followed Danika, and—”

“And, what?” I scoffed. “Did that harmless woman beat you up?” He didn’t answer.

“Ha!” I slapped his face playfully, taking another drink as I paced the room.

“My oh my, that woman really is something, isn’t she?

” I stopped, dropping my smile. “She’s just like her counterpart, Felix… a real pain in my ass.”

Ray tsked. “That little slut is nothing. I’m not sure why you’re wasting your time on her.”

I turned to look back at him, feeling that Osvaldo temper in my blood rising. “Wasting my time?” I cocked my head. “The only one wasting my time at the moment is you, Ray.”

My eyes met those of my man’s behind him as I nodded. He immediately put Ray into a chokehold, then held a gun to his temple. Ray panicked. “Wait, wait, wait!”

I walked over to him, gripping his face. “Do you even realize how long I’ve waited to set things right? To wipe out those undeserving, selfish, fucking Osvaldo siblings?!” He didn’t speak. “No. You have no idea what’s even happening. Let him go.”

My man released Ray, who fell forward onto his knees. He was panting hard, noticeably frightened of what I was going to do.

As you should be.

I took a final sip before slamming the bourbon bottle against the coffee table, shattering the glass.

“The only one wasting my time here is you. And my time is quite valuable.” I swung a sharp edge from the glass, cutting his face from one side to the other, then knocked him to the ground.

Ray screamed and cried out as I smiled, watching him bleed all over the floor.

I stood in front of the petty drug dealer, handing the broken glass off as the man gave me a handkerchief.

“I’m going to give you one more chance.” I wiped my hands and bent down.

His bloodshot eyes raised to mine, tears falling down his shredded face.

“Bring me that woman, or I’ll personally make sure you never see the light of day again.

” I tossed the handkerchief at him before storming away.

“And clean yourself up…you look like shit.”
