Epilogue

Mira

Three months later

“Is he all moved in?” Kelly asked over our FaceTime call, her pretty blonde hair falling around her freckled face.

“Yes. He turned over the keys to his apartment last night. It only made sense, considering he was always in my bed.” I grinned, and Kelly laughed.

“Damn straight, girl. You’re practically glowing through the screen. Must be all that vitamin D.”

My cheeks warmed, and I covered my face with my hands. “Is it that noticeable?”

“I’d say.” Kelly brought her phone close to her face. “There’s no way you’re outside that much.”

“Hey, I’ll have you know I go outside plenty now. The view of the orchard from the back porch is gorgeous.”

“Mm hmm, are you sure it’s the view of the orchard or your man?”

“Both.” I grinned like a fool.

“I love seeing you this happy, Mira.”

“Thanks, Kels. Now move here and find your own mountain man.”

Kelly groaned. “But the city calls my name…”

“I know.”

“When I come visit next month, you can prove me wrong. Maybe I’ll change my mind.”

“Okay, deal.”

We chatted for a few more minutes before clicking off. I missed her a lot and couldn’t wait for her to visit next month. While Ezra had been a great distraction, there was nothing like time with your bestie.

“Hey, sexy lady.” Ezra’s sexy voice washed over me as I walked into the kitchen. “I made you a cup of tea.”

“Thank you. Just what I needed.”

Ezra kissed me before handing me the warm mug. “How about we go out to dinner tonight?”

“Out to dinner? What’s the special occasion?” I sipped my tea before placing the mug on the counter.

“We deserve to celebrate. We’ve worked hard on the orchard and besides, I have something I want to tell you.” Ezra winked. It still made me weak in the knees.

“Oh, you do?” I wrapped my arms around his waist and rested my chin on his chest, looking up at him.

“Yes.”

I nuzzled into him and he hugged me close, resting his chin on the top of my head.

My mind drifted to our time together, how we said I love you after a week of amazing sex and nonstop time together.

Then, Ezra asked me to be his girlfriend a couple of months ago, and I said yes without hesitation.

We got along, we had great sex, we always had a good time together, and he was here all the time anyway, so what more could I ask for? “Okay, hope it’s good. I love you.”

“I love you too, always.”

And later that night, over a candlelit dinner at one of the fancier restaurants nearby, Ezra surprised me. With a trip to Hawaii. A getaway for just the two of us.

On that trip, Ezra asked me to be his wife. I said yes, a thousand times over. And I also found out…

I was pregnant.
