22. Chapter Twenty-Two

Chapter Twenty-Two

Sophia focused on calmly walking into the clubhouse, fighting the urge to skip through to where Tack was. He’d had Church, and then he’d said he and Justice were going to work out.

It had been a month since they’d made love at the hotel.

So many things had happened. Adley had agreed to be the lawyer for Rufus and Jolene on the condition that they agreed to the plea bargain she worked out with the District Attorney and gave up the name of who had sent them.

Since in their statements they’d admitted to planning and killing her parents, plus numerous other things, the sentencing was going to be stiff.

Sophia didn’t care because she’d never have to see them again.

Once Cuffs had dug into them, the club had found they were wanted in multiple states for fraud, identity theft, and burglaries.

If they were ever eligible for parole, there were plenty of other states waiting for their turn.

In fact, a couple states were actively pursuing having Rufus and Jolene stand trial in their states first.

She and Tack were looking through house plans to find the perfect one for them.

With them planning a family, they were going to split their time between the club and her farmhouse until their house was built.

Although Tack offered to have them live in both places, Sophia wanted a home at the compound.

She’d keep her bedroom at the farmhouse so they could stay over sometimes, and she could lay down during the day if she needed it.

With the test in her pocket, she could see needing naps at work. She was also going to look at taking on another vet like she’d considered. She’d still work but she would decrease her hours. She wanted to be home with her kids to watch them grow.

She walked by the room they held Church in. The door was open and the room was empty. She headed around the corner to the gym entrance. Adley was standing in the doorway, staring into the room where Sophia could hear Michael Jackson’s Beat It playing.

She stopped next to Adley and paused at the sight of Justice and Tack working out.

They were side by side on the floor, doing push-ups in time with each other.

Every so often, they’d switch to only one hand.

Tack’s muscles in his shoulders were straining, and sweat was dripping off his chest that she wouldn’t mind licking.

Her man was hot enough to set fire to her panties from across the room.

“Amen, sister. Workout time is one of my favorite sights at the clubhouse,” Adley breathed out.

Sophia grinned. “You might want to wipe the drool off before it drops from your chin,” she teased.

Adley wiped her face. “Funny.”

When Tack started clapping between push-ups, Justice groaned and called him a couple names before adding the clap between each push-up, too.

“They’ll do this until one of them falls and gives up.

They need to stop, or Justice won’t have time to shower before we leave.

I don’t know if it’s the psychological effect of being pregnant but I’m always hungry.

Their little competition is not getting in the way of us eating barbecue,” Adley said.

Sophia patted her shoulder. “I’ll take care of this.”

Sophia walked into the room and, when she got close to Tack, tossed the positive pregnancy test in the plastic bag onto the floor underneath his face. He stopped, jerked his head up to see her with a look of wonder on his face that she hoped she remembered for the rest of her life.

“Really?” he breathed out.

She nodded, stepping toward him. He jumped up, striding toward her to pull her in for a kiss. Oh, she’d never get tired of this man’s mouth on her. He pulled back, holding her shoulders.

“You’ve made me the happiest man. Can I share?” he asked.

She nodded.

He turned to Justice and Adley. “We’re having a baby!”

Justice and Adley congratulated them.

“Oh, how exciting. We’ll be preggos together, and the kids will be close in age,” Adley cheered.

Sophia loved having her MC family to have her kids grow up with. They’d never be alone. She’d always wanted a brother or sister. With the club, even if she and Tack were only blessed with one, their child would always have family around.

Justice pulled her in for a hug, “You’ve made him very happy, and I’m so glad you’re a part of the family.”

Tack loved seeing how happy Sophia was with everyone fawning over their pregnancy.

They’d gone out to dinner but returned to the clubhouse for an impromptu party celebrating it.

The pregnancy had given him the nudge he needed.

He’d been okay with waiting while Sophia decided when she wanted to get married, but now that they were expecting a baby, he wanted to be married sooner rather than later.

He got up from where he was sitting with Sophia and his mom, making his way to Justice.

“I want to marry Sophia as soon as possible, but I also want it to be special for her,” Tack explained, hoping his brother could help him out.

Justice pulled him in for a hug. “Happy for you, brother.”

Tack nodded. “Thanks. I didn’t understand what you and Pit had until she came into my life,” Tack said.

Justice chuckled. “We’re lucky fuckers with our women. Have you asked Sophia what she wants? I’ve learned that sometimes it’s better to actually ask Adley instead of deciding for her what I think she’ll like.”

Adley leaned around Justice, “It’s only taken a year, but he’s finally learned.”

“Tack, if you want my opinion—and I’ve decided you do—go ask her. Her parents won’t be there, and from what I’ve seen of her, she’s not one to want a huge, fluffy dress,” Adley prodded, placing her hand on his arm and giving him a push toward Sophia.

“Thanks, Adley. You’re the best sister-in-law, especially having to deal with Justice,” Tack teased, heading toward where Sophia was chatting with his mom.

Tack rushed over to Sophia and his mom, sitting down and taking Sophia’s hand.

“Tack, is something wrong?” she asked, her forehead furrowed.

“Nothing’s wrong, but I need your help,” Tack disclosed.

“Okay. How about you tell me what you need,” Sophia urged.

“I know it’s months until the baby is here, but I need to know you and the baby are mine—and that you’re taken care of if something happens. I want to marry you as soon as possible, but I don’t know what kind of wedding you want," he prodded.

Sophia leaned toward him, taking his hand.

“I want you in jeans and your cut, okay, wait a minute. Cut or SWAT uniform,” she mused, moving her head side to side, staring at the ceiling.

“Cut, definitely. I want it to be casual. Our friends and family can wear jeans, dresses—whatever they want. I want it either at the farm underneath one of the big trees or here at the compound. I want the ceremony to be short because I want us to have a big party where our friends, family, and co-workers can relax and let loose. For my wedding present, I want what you’ve promised but haven’t been able to deliver on—having your way with me on your bike,” Sophia declared, winking at him.

Laughter from their friends had Tack pulling his woman in close for a hug.

“I promise I will make that happen. How soon could we do this?” Tack questioned.

“I’d say we could pull it together by September 26th, a little less than two weeks if you wanted people to have time to request off work if needed,” Ruthy suggested.

“Sophia, September 26th work for you?” he asked.

“Yes, let’s start planning now. I’ll text Lake and Freedom to head over to help too,” Sophia proposed, turning toward Ruthy and motioning Adley, Charlie and Ariel over.

Tack grinned at the two most important women in his life getting along.

Although his mom couldn’t replace Sophia’s mom, she’d be the best mother-in-law that Sophia could ask for.

Seeing Ariel, Charlie, and Adley welcoming his soon-to-be-wife gave Tack the peace he’d been missing before falling for Sophia.
