Rebellion & Micro-Sabotage

The red error message flickered across the obsidian display in a mocking pulse. Sub-routine access denied.

I clenched my teeth until my jaw cracked and swiped the machine code off the screen with a sharp gesture.

Sixteen hours. I'd been sitting in this room for sixteen damn hours since Jules' evacuation had been confirmed, and I still hadn't cracked the system.

His firewalls weren't elegant. They were a brutal, interlocking labyrinth of isolated server nodes that physically disconnected from the main network every time I tried to manipulate them.

The muscles in my neck burned. My eyes felt like someone had rubbed fine sand under the lids.

I shoved the stool back. The metal legs scraped loudly across the polished stone floor. I ignored the sound, stood up, and stretched out my stiff back. Pain flared in my bruised ribs—a dull, constant throb.

The warlord's heavy, pitch-black shirt still hung on my body. It reeked of him—relentlessly. Musk, heated stone, leather. The scent had seeped into my pores, lay heavy on my tongue with every breath. There was no escape from his presence, even when he didn't speak.

My gaze fell on the matte gray metal tray sitting on a side table next to the locked double door. A silent guard had pushed it through a small floor hatch hours ago. On it sat a portion of roasted, fibrous meat, still steaming slightly, and a bowl of murky, reddish liquid.

My stomach cramped with hunger. I ignored it. I wouldn't eat a warlord's food in a cage. Accepting your captor's food meant unconsciously accepting their care. Accepting the dependency. I'd chew my own boot soles before I gave him that satisfaction.

I turned around.

He lay on the gigantic metal bed, his violet body barely distinguishable against the dark gray furs.

On his back, hands clasped behind his head, amber eyes half-closed.

He wasn't sleeping. He hadn't slept all night.

He just lay there watching me. Every frustrated movement at the terminal, every sigh, every grind of my teeth.

He wore only his pants. His broad, scar-laced chest rose and fell in a calm, provocatively slow rhythm. The thick, armored tail rested lazily across his right thigh, its tip twitching occasionally with a life of its own.

I hated that absolute, unshakeable calm. It was silent proof of his superiority.

“Your security system is inefficient.” My voice cut through the silence—cold, calculating, primed for confrontation.

A deep vibration began in his chest. A rough rumble that filled the room.

“Inefficient enough to keep you out of my hangar doors for sixteen hours, little strategist,” he rumbled, his voice deep, heavy, dripping with amusement.

“Brute-force blockades are primitive. A clever virus eats through these nodes like acid through cheap plastic. It just takes longer.” I looked away. If I stared at him any longer, I'd lose my focus. His sheer physical mass was a distraction.

I walked to the long table against the south wall. His personal weapons lay there. Two heavy, matte gray plasma burners, half a dozen vibro-blades of varying lengths, and several tactical energy cells. The arrangement was chaotic. A pile of deadly metal.

I grabbed the first plasma burner. The weapon was massive, designed for hands almost twice the size of mine. I hefted it up and set it on the left side of the table, exactly parallel to the edge.

“What are you doing?” His deep voice came from the bed. The rumble had grown louder.

“I'm correcting your chaos.” I grabbed the second firearm and placed it in mirror position beside the first. I measured the distance between the grips with my thumb.

Exactly three centimeters. “If someone storms this door, you lose a second and a half adjusting your grip angle. Inefficient. Weapons get sorted by range, access speed, and weight. Not like a damn junkyard.”

I pushed three vibro-blades into a perfect, symmetrical row beneath the blasters.

The cool metal felt familiar. It calmed my racing thoughts.

I arranged the energy cells in an exact square.

My fingers flew over the table, creating structure where only raw force had existed before.

It was a tiny act of control in a room where I had none.

Behind me, the heavy furs rustled. The sound of mass in motion.

I didn't turn around. I grabbed the last, longest vibro-knife.

“You refuse to eat your rations.” His voice came closer. The vibration of his footsteps traveled through the stone floor into my soles. “You stare at my firewalls half the night. And now you're playing with my blades.”

I pushed the knife into the perfect center of the arrangement. “I'm not playing. I'm optimizing.”

I tapped the holographic interface next to the weapons table. The system responded to my input—the tactical overlay, the one that wasn't locked. The projection of the mining city flickered to life before me. Red and blue dots marked patrol routes and guard posts.

I crossed my arms over my chest. The too-long sleeves of his shirt slipped over my wrists.

“Just like your troop deployment here,” I continued, my tone arrogant, my eyes fixed on the hologram.

“Sector Four, the eastern slope. General Kael left a two-hundred-meter gap between the patrolling mechs.

A blind man with half a leg could plant explosive charges on the coolant tanks without a single infrared sensor going off.

Your people rely on thick armor, but they don't think in vectors.”

The heat hit me before he even came to a stop behind me. It settled like a heavy, dry blanket over my back. The smell of ash and musk thickened, almost stealing the oxygen from my lungs. He stood so close I could feel the raw heat of his body radiating through the thin fabric of the shirt.

“Little strategist,” he murmured. His breath grazed my left earlobe, hot and moist. A shiver raced down my spine. “The sensors on the eastern slope aren't defective. Kael leaves the gap open deliberately.”

I snorted contemptuously and refused to back away. “An open flank is an invitation. Not a tactic.”

“It's a funnel.” His deep voice vibrated against my ear.

“Predators and raiders avoid resistance.

They seek the path of least effort. The gap lures them in.

The moment they enter the corridor, the pneumatic gates close at both ends.

They aren't fought. They're crushed. A passive meat grinder. Saves ammunition. Saves time.”

My jaw tensed. I stared at the hologram. The architectural lines of the eastern slope suddenly made sense. It wasn't a mistake. It was a trap. A brutal, merciless trap.

I hated that he was right.

“Still,” I countered, lifting my chin and turning my head slightly to the side. I refused to give him the satisfaction. “If the enemy has air units, your meat grinder won't do you any good. Your tactics are one-dimensional.”

I expected an angry reaction. I expected him to roar, spin me around, or smash the holographic projection.

Instead, I felt movement at my right hip.

Something heavy and warm slid silently over the black fabric of my shirt. The thick, scaled muscle cords of his tail. The armored tip lay flat against my stomach while the rest of the limb wrapped around my waist like a thick steel belt.

The grip wasn't painful, but the weight was relentless. It pulled me backward with a slow, inexorable tug until my spine slammed hard against his bare, stone-hard abdomen.

I gasped softly as the impact drove the air from my lungs.

He hadn't even raised his hands. He controlled me completely through the thick muscle coiled around my hips. The heat of the tail burned through the fabric, seeping into my skin and sending my pulse hammering traitorously in my throat.

“You talk a lot, my loud pet,” he whispered. The deep, rough rumble in his chest vibrated through my back. “You criticize my weapons, you dissect my tactics. You resist every command just to prove you're not broken.”

I gripped the edge of the weapons table with both hands. My knuckles went white. “I'm not your pet. And I'm definitely not broken.”

The tail around my waist contracted—a hard, brief squeeze that pressed me even tighter against his hips. I felt every line of his body, the hardness of his muscles, the slow, powerful beating of his heart against my shoulder blades.

His face came closer until his jaw rested against my temple.

“I know,” he rumbled. His fangs barely grazed my skin. “A broken creature bores me. I enjoy your little rebellion. But we should clarify one thing before your ego gets you into a situation your brilliant mind can't get you out of.”

“What situation?” I hissed.

I slammed my palms against the edge of the weapons table and shoved backward with all my strength, trying to throw my entire body weight against him.

A naive, useless reflex. My back bounced off his hard torso like hitting a granite wall.

His boots didn't shift a millimeter. He stood as firmly rooted as if he were part of the ancient rock of this fortress.

The vibration of his laughter rumbled through my spine and into my stomach.

“A situation where your brilliant mind no longer helps you because your body takes control,” he murmured.

His massive right hand rose. The pitch-black, sharp claws stroked almost gently over my right forearm.

Then his thick fingers closed like a steel vise around my wrist. He wrenched my arm from the table with a brutal, fluid motion, pulled it behind my back, and pinned my hand flat against my lower spine.

At the same time, the tail around my waist changed position.

The thick, scaled coil released its grip around my hips.

I gasped for air as the crushing tightness disappeared, but the relief lasted only a fraction of a second.

The limb slid lower. The armored, hot tip stroked over the outside of my left thigh, wandering slowly and deliberately downward into the hollow behind my knee.

Then he pulled tight.

The tail wrapped around my leg and yanked it outward and upward. I lost my balance. My left boot left the floor. I had to cling desperately to the table edge with my remaining free hand to keep from tipping sideways. My back slammed against his hard chest again.

My legs were now spread wide. My body was completely off balance, entirely dependent on the stability he forced upon me.

“You sort my knives,” he whispered against my temple.

His left hand reached forward, slid over the cool metal of the table, and gathered the vibro-blades I had just arranged with painstaking precision.

With a casual sweep, he scattered them into a chaotic pile.

The metal clattered loudly. “But you overlook the obvious.

I don't need these toys. I am the weapon.”

The tail holding my left leg in the air shifted shape. The thick muscle cords contracted. The scaled tip slid from the hollow behind my knee upward along the inside of my thigh.

The heat radiating from the limb was extreme. It burned through the sturdy material of my combat pants. I clenched my jaw. I wanted to close my leg, wanted to stop the movement, but against the raw, hydraulic force of his anatomy, my resistance was useless.

The tip pushed relentlessly higher until the thick, hot muscle pressed exactly between my spread thighs.

A strangled gasp escaped my throat.

The tail lay directly against my crotch. Heavy. Hard. Boiling hot. The scales rubbed through the rough fabric of my pants directly against my mound. It wasn't a gentle caress. It was dominant pressure. A physical claiming that left no room for interpretation.

“Stop that,” I hissed. My voice trembled. Not from fear, but from the sudden, treacherous rush of blood to my lower abdomen. The friction of the hot, pulsing muscle against my most sensitive spot severed my rational focus like a blade.

“Make me,” he rumbled.

He shifted his weight slightly forward. The thick tail between my legs pressed harder against my center, crushing me against the table edge. At the same time, his hard, massive arousal pushed from behind against my ass. I was trapped between two fronts of boiling heat and merciless muscle.

He moved the tail. A slow, deliberate roll of the muscle.

The rough scales rubbed back and forth. The friction generated an electrifying heat deep in my pelvis that burned into my nerve pathways like molten lead.

My body, wound tight after days of tension, reacted immediately.

Moisture gathered at my center. A deep, involuntary throbbing began in my clit, synchronized with the slow, heavy beating of his heart against my back.

I hated him. I hated him for using my own biology against me.

“You like giving orders,” he murmured. His breath grazed my neck. The hand pinning my right arm behind my back pressed me closer. “You criticize my fortifications. You plan counterstrikes at my terminal. Your ego knows no bounds. But your body…”

The tail tightened, pressing hard against my slit. I threw my head back. My breath caught. A soft, uncontrolled moan escaped my lips before I could suppress it.

“…your body responds to strength,” he finished. His fangs grazed the pulsing vein at my neck. “Your mind resists, but your skin doesn’t lie. You feel the weight. The heat. You know exactly where you belong in this hierarchy.”

“Fuck you,” I forced out through clenched teeth. My left hand clenched around the table edge. My fingernails scraped across the obsidian.

He laughed, deep and dark. The vibration rolled through my entire body.

“Not yet,” he whispered. “We’ve only just begun.”

Without warning, he released my wrist. At the same time, the tail unwound from my leg, slid from between my thighs, and glided soundlessly across the floor until it swung calmly behind him again.

The abrupt loss of heat and pressure made me stagger.

My left foot crashed to the floor. My knees gave out for a fraction of a second.

I leaned heavily on the table edge, head lowered, breath coming shallow and ragged.

My core throbbed painfully, a hollow, aggressive pull that screamed for the friction he’d just taken away.

I stared at the cool obsidian of the table, trying to banish the fog of arousal and rage from my head. I wrenched back control. I swallowed hard, straightened my shoulders, and slowly turned around.

He stood two steps away. Arms crossed over his massive chest. A smug gleam in his amber eyes. Not a drop of sweat on his skin. His breathing calm and even. He’d driven me to the edge of losing control within seconds without expending even a fraction of his strength.

He raised his chin and gestured toward the small side table next to the door. Toward the matte gray tray with the roasted meat.

“You can mess with my weapons. You can hack my terminals if it distracts you.” His tone was no longer amused. It was pure command. Raw, relentless dominance. “But you will not starve in my cage. Eat your rations. Before I throw you on that bed and feed you myself.”
