Enzo #2

“She calmed me down. Talked some sense into me.” She put a hand on my shoulder, adjusting her position, and inadvertently rubbing my cock.

This was the best, most painful position I’d ever been in.

I wasn’t going to move an inch, though. “She pointed out that I knew the dangers before I said yes to you. There’s danger every day, and I shouldn’t shy away from someone I like because something a little scary happened.

Plus, she pointed out that if there was anyone who would keep Harper and me safe, it would be you. ”

She had that right. Though I don’t think she realized how far I was willing to go to ensure they stayed safe. I wouldn’t say having men sneak up on us in the dead of night, intent on killing us, was merely a little scary, but what did I know?

“It was intense. I’m sorry it happened at all,” I said, holding out a chocolate-covered strawberry for her.

“I’m okay; nothing bad happened other than being scared. Once the shock wore off, it didn’t shake me as much as I thought it would. Probably because I knew you were there, handling the situation.” She pulled my wrist to her mouth and finished the strawberry.

I leaned in and kissed her neck, allowing myself to linger there. That small drop of trust was worth millions of dollars.

“I’ll protect you and Harper with my life.” I fed her more fruit, loving the content expression on her face as she chewed. A little juice leaked from the corner of her mouth, and she leaned in to lick it away, needing to touch her.

“This isn’t how I planned for the second day of our date to go.” I admitted.

“I think it was perfect,” she said, turning her head to look out at the pool and the ocean. “I’ve never had a chance to slow down and take a day for myself. It feels almost wrong for Harper to be with other people, so I could do something like get a haircut.”

I’d heard of this feeling—Mom Guilt.

“If you don’t take care of yourself and keep running on empty, you’re no good to anyone,” I said, hoping to ease her mind. “Harper needs to see that you care about yourself, too.”

She wrinkled her nose at me. “You sound like Minnie and Martina.”

“They’re right. Taking time for yourself helps,” I said.

“So, you’re saying I should slow down?” she asked, cocking her head to the side.

“Yes,” I said, rubbing a hand on the small of her back.

She sat up and gripped my cock, placing it near her entrance.

“I know what I want to slow down this time.” She slid down, taking me in one move.

I groaned and held her in place.

“I can do slow,” I said, wrapping my arms around her.

“I’d like to see that.” She bent down and kissed me.

“I can’t believe this.” Serena’s face was full of childlike wonder as she looked out of the helicopter window. I didn’t bother to look out. There wasn’t a chance I was missing her reaction.

“We’ll be landing momentarily.” The pilot’s voice beeped into our headphones as we neared a tall building with a helipad on top.

Serena reached over and squeezed my hand, vibrating with excitement in her seat.

Arranging a helicopter to pick us up was easier than I anticipated. I made sure that we’d circle the city, giving Serena time to enjoy the experience. Luckily, the hotel Martina and Minnie had picked out had a helipad on top, something not many places in the city had.

Thanks to a connection Minnie offered, we were able to land there when it was typically only used for emergencies.

We landed and got out, running to the door while the wind from the helicopter whipped around us.

The door closed, and Serena jumped into my arms and kissed me. Flipping our positions, I pushed her into the wall and gripped her ass while she ground down on me.

She pulled away, tilting her head, giving me room to kiss down her neck.

“We can’t do this here,” she gasped as I sucked on her pulse. “Lorenzo. We can’t. Anyone could see.”

Only the thought of someone coming up on us, witnessing Serena’s pleasure—something that was meant for me—made me stop.

Resting my head on her shoulder, I gathered the last of my strength, dragging her down the front of my body as I set her down.

“Feel free to throw yourself at me anytime, amore,” I said, holding her hand as we descended the steps.

The elevator waited for us to take us to the penthouse suite. When the elevator opened, we heard shouting.

A man’s voice—not Rafael. I sped up and used the key card to gain entry.

Che vada tutto a quel paese. What was Charles doing here?

He stood over Minnie, face red. Martina wasn’t in view, which made me think she’d taken Harper to another room so she didn’t have to deal with her dad yelling at her grandmother.

Anger, hot and fast, whipped in me, and it took everything I had to rein it in before I acted on it. I gripped Serena’s hip, trying to keep myself composed.

If I could, I would’ve stormed over, dragged him out by his hair, and thrown him into one of my warehouses for days.

Then I would’ve taken my sweet time beating him into submission and having him crawl back to the women he just disrespected.

The door closed loudly behind us. Minnie and Charles turned, both glaring at us, but with different meanings. Minnie glared in frustration, like she was mad we showed up on time. Charles was angry. As his eyes went from me to Serena, who still held my hand, he processed what this meant.

The second it dawned on him, his face grew angrier, and his ire went from Minnie to Serena in an instant. He stomped over to us. I moved forward, putting myself between Serena and him.

Serena could handle herself, but I wasn’t going to allow him to try to intimidate her any longer. He needed to know she wasn’t alone, and it wasn’t his mother he had to worry about.

It was me.

“She’s coming with me.” He pointed his finger over my shoulder at Serena.

“No, she isn’t,” I said.

“You left our daughter so you could whore yourself out to him. You’re unfit. She’s coming with me.” Spittle flew out of Charles’ mouth as he raged. Gently, I pulled Serena closer to my back.

I looked down at Charles, allowing the anger to show on my face. He’d been a big fish in a small pond for a long time. He was finally going to get a dose of what the real world had to offer him.
