Chapter 14 #2
I wished I could be more open; heck, I wanted to let them in on more details, but I didn’t want to get burnt.
I felt our friendship was safer with no one holding a debilitating secret over the head of another. The floor was even and we were all good.
“So, you think the night was worth a commitment?” Rose asked, sucking on her straw.
“I don’t know.” Caroline shrugged. “He did say he wanted to be exclusive, but I’m still thinking about it.”
I swallowed the question in my mind; it didn’t feel right to probe when you had secrets.
“But do you think you’re tilting towards a yes?” Rose pressed.
“Yeah. He treats me nice, he’s really sweet, he has money and the sex is great. I just need to put my head in order before diving in.”
“So you like him.” Rose grinned.
Caroline rolled her eyes. “Fuck off.”
Abigail entered with another lady with her, both swaying lightly. “Time for games, girls, get your ass to the stage.”
Rose squealed, hurrying off before Caroline and I could stand.
The games were great. We played charades, drinking games, made impressions of the superiors and placed bets.
I don’t think I ever had that much fun in my life.
I drained what would become my fourth glass of cocktail, leaning to whisper into Caroline’s ear.
“I need to use the bathroom, be back in a few.”
She nodded, returning her attention to the game while I walked off in the direction of the restroom.
I was grateful for the privacy and lack of queue at the entrance. I couldn’t imagine standing in a queue right now.
The bathroom was just like the rest of the lounge: low-lit, luxurious, but with louder music.
I did my business in peace whilst taking out my phone to update Anna on how the night was going.
It was a pact to always keep the other updated while out at night.
I was lost on my phone. I didn't see the person in front of me till I bumped into them.
Strong arms wrapped around me, steadying me till the woozy feeling died down.
“Hello, beautiful.”
Collin smiled down at me when I looked up.
“Hey.” I tried to step back, but his arm didn’t budge. “Are you lost? This is the ladies' restroom.”
“I’m aware. Figured we needed some alone time.”
“Oh.” I took a step back and this time, his arm loosened around me. “I’m sorry I didn’t get back to you on the date, I’ve been very busy.”
He raised a questioning brow. “Really? I thought the boss was away.”
“Yeah.” I sighed, inching towards the door. “But he made sure to leave me with enough work to keep me occupied the whole time.”
“Good thing I’m here to relieve all the stress, then.”
Collin didn’t look drunk by any inch, but something in the way he smiled at me gave me the chills.
I reached for the door handle. “Why don’t we head back to the others, then we can plan a proper date?”
His hand came down, slamming it shut. “I think we already have the perfect one going on.”
Panic rose to my throat as I took in his expression. His lips curled into a predatory smile as his eyes raked over my body.
A shiver that had nothing to do with the cold air conditioning skittered down my spine.
Collin must’ve mistaken it for an invitation as his head lowered to mine.
I turned immediately, causing his lips to land on my cheek.
“I knew you loved to play.”
“Collin,” I backed away slowly. “Why don’t we take some time to talk about this?”
“There’s nothing to talk about. You can drop the pretense; I know all of your antics have been to get to me.”
My expression soured. “Antics? I’m sorry, but I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Collin drew closer. “Drop the act, Genevieve, I’m familiar with your innocent girl act. You join me for lunch, sit next to me at meetings and whisper into my ear. Come on, I know you want me.”
My heart plummeted to the pit of my stomach. “Collin, I’m sorry, but I think you have mistaken me. I was only being nice.”
“Nice?” His eyes flashed. “You put on a dress like this to a company meeting knowing I’ll be there, to be nice?”
My eyes raked over the restroom looking for a secret exit. He was currently blocking the only one, and unless someone miraculously walked in—
I suddenly remembered the phone in my hand, but as if he saw my intention right through me, he grabbed the phone before I could punch a digit.
“I’ve had enough of your teasing, Genevieve.” His voice was strained as he backed me against the sink. “Now I’ll take what you’ve been dangling in front of me.”
His palm wrapped around my neck as he lowered his face to mine. I fought back, screaming and clawing at his hands, but my cries were swallowed by the music and my hands were no match for his bulging arms.
He pressed against me, his erection digging into my belly. “I know you want it, Gen, and if you are a good girl and calm down, we can enjoy this together.”
A shudder swept through me. I tried to lift my knee, but he caught it in time, forcing his leg in between mine.
“Get off me.” Tears stung my eyes, but I refused to give him the satisfaction of seeing me cry.
His leg hitched higher, taking my dress with it. I wasn’t aware of what to fight first: his legs forcing their way to my pussy, the hand trying to steady my head for a kiss, or the hand trying to grope my boobs.
I tore at every part of him I could find, screaming my lungs out while praying that by some miracle, Caroline realized I was taking a longer time than needed.
“Please don’t do this,” I pleaded when his hand tore at the collar of my dress, exposing an eye full of my cleavage to him.
“Too late, sweetheart. Can’t walk away now I’ve seen you.” He dipped his head, his tongue darting out for a taste while I braced myself for a wave of disgust, but he never made it all the way.
Collin was torn from me and sent flying to the other side of the room by a force I couldn’t see, and before I could make sense of my environment, Kazimir appeared from nowhere, descending on him with multiple blows.
It took a moment for me to realize the hysteric scream was coming from me.
The bathroom filled with coworkers. Rose took one look at my partly exposed state before hurrying to me.
Caroline loosened her scarf, wrapping it around my torn neckline.
“That bastard.” Rose swore, looking at Collin.
Collin's face was near disfigured when Nikolai arrived to pull Kazimir off him.
“I’ll take it from here.”
Kazimir stood, his eyes searching the crowd till they landed on me.
He walked over to me, covering me with his blazer and taking me out of the crowded bathroom.
