Chapter 7
CHAPTER SEVEN
Delaney
Stretching my body, I turn in my bed only to be stopped by a warm body. My eyes pop open.
There sleeping soundly is Tank. I expected him to slip out in the middle of the night. Isn’t that what a hookup does?
Maybe I shouldn’t be taking my knowledge from movies when it comes to flings. I’m not really sure what to expect with Tank.
Getting out of bed, I go to the bathroom to handle my morning business. Once I go through my routine, I grab my robe and head back into my bedroom to grab some clothes.
“Morning.” His voice is raspy.
“Morning.” I look over at him.
“Sorry I fell asleep. I fully intended on a second round, but I guess my body had other plans.”
“It’s okay,” I tell him as I collect my clothes.
“If I overstayed my welcome, let me know. I’ll make sure it doesn’t happen again.”
I stop what I’m doing and turn to face him. “You didn’t. I don’t know what to expect with all of this, but I didn’t hate having you here when I woke up.”
“Good. Then if I can, I will always stay.”
I nod. “I’m going to get dressed and start breakfast. Feel free to join me if you’d like. If not, I have to get to work, but you can stay as long as you want. I can leave you my spare key.”
It feels weird to be offering him a key to my house, but we are doing this thing together, and well, I want to trust him.
“I’ll be out in a minute. I’m already late for work, but I’d love some breakfast.”
I nod, heading into the bathroom. I quickly change before I head into the kitchen. I’m making eggs when he comes out of my room naked as the day he was born.
I avert my eyes, not quite ready for all of that this early in the morning. He’s so damn attractive, he might as well be made of stone.
He walks to the island, grabbing his clothes. Then he stops behind me, dropping a kiss to my shoulder.
“Smells good. I’ll be right back.”
My body shivers as he walks away. I like the way he makes my body feel alive. I’m still unsure about him, but last night was amazing. It made me feel different. I was so close to letting go for the first time in my life.
I’m plating the food when he comes out. He smiles as he takes a seat at the island. I bring the food over before I grab two glasses and the orange juice from the fridge. I pour us each a glass before I take the seat next to him.
After a moment, he starts talking.
“We should talk about last night. What worked and what didn’t. What did you like? What didn’t you like?”
I chew my eggs and swallow before I speak. “I had a really good time. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about all of it, but once I let all the nerves go, I found myself having fun. I quite liked ordering you around.”
He smiles. “I really enjoyed you ordering me around. The butt plugs were for you?”
My cheeks heat. “That was the plan. You surprised me when you wanted one.”
“Have you ever done butt stuff?”
I shake my head. “No, but I’m intrigued. It was something I found in my research.”
“You researched? That’s so fucking hot,” he mumbles.
“I did. I’ll admit I did see guys who enjoyed anal play, but I didn’t think that would be you. I mean, you’re big and strong. Then again, I never thought you’d give away control either. I think there’s a lot about you that I didn’t know.”
“There is,” he says. “So much, and maybe I’ll let you know one day. I enjoy anal play. The prostate is so sensitive. In fact, I haven’t taken the plug out yet.”
My eyes widen. “You kept it in all night?”
He looks a little sheepish as he shrugs. “You didn’t tell me I could.”
That same, familiar feeling fills me. I feel powerful. I think I have found my feminine energy for sure.
“So, if I don’t tell you that you can take it out, you’ll leave it in all day?” I test.
He swallows hard but nods.
I smirk at him. “Maybe I should. Test how good you can be.”
“Fuck,” he mutters.
“I’m kidding. We won’t see each other tonight, so that would be cruel, but I will put that in my pocket for later. You really like being ordered around? Like even when not actively in the bedroom?” I ask.
He nods. “I know it sounds weird, but I do. I’ve never handed over control like this before, though. Not willingly, so I know this is new for you, but it’s new for me too. Showing you my vulnerable side and trusting you to take care of it.”
I nod. “I won’t betray your trust. You’re helping me more than you know. I can help you too. You’ve really never done this? You seem so comfortable with it.”
He frowns. “I have some issues stemming from my childhood. I have tried to give up control with a few women before, but they never truly wanted it. They didn’t take it seriously.”
“They suck then. You deserve to have your needs met as well as mine. This isn’t a one-way street.”
He reaches out, grabbing my hand with his. “That’s why you’re perfect for this. You crave the control, and I want to be controlled.”
My body lights up at his compliment. He thinks I’m good at this. Maybe this is what I needed all along.
“So when do we do it again?” I ask.
He chuckles. “You run the show, remember? You tell me to be here, and I will be here. Barring any conflicts with my work schedule.”
He winks at me.
“Friday. I don’t work Saturday, so we can have the entire night to do as we please.”
His eyes sparkle. “That sounds promising.”
I stand, taking my plate to the sink. He does the same.
“If you are a good boy all week, maybe I will even reward you.”
He growls, leaning in to kiss my neck. “I’ll be the best boy.”
I angle my neck. “Then you better get to work. From what I understand, you’re already late. That’s not what good boys do, now is it?”
He turns my face, kissing me hard before he pulls away. “Friday, but I’ll be texting you all week, giving you my good boy updates.”
“You do that.” I look down at his ass. “Oh, and Tank? Leave the butt plug.”
Then I smack his ass, making him moan.
Yeah, this is a lot of fun.
Tank
“He’s on drugs. He has to be,” Jagger whispers quite loudly.
“Drugs? He had a lobotomy. It’s the only way he is this happy,” Sloane adds.
I pull myself out from underneath the car I am working on and sit up. Rubbing my hands on my rag, I look over at the group.
“You are a bunch of gossips. Can’t a man have a good morning?” I ask.
“You were late to work, which you never are. You have been humming under your breath. Seriously, did aliens visit you? Probe your ass or some shit?” Jagger asks.
Not that far off.
“That would explain a lot. Like how he keeps checking his phone,” Sloane adds.
“Leave him alone, Trouble,” Gunner growls from the car he is working on. “You’re supposed to be working.”
“Okay, Daddy.” She rolls her eyes. “Ruin all of our fun.”
“Trouble.” He gives her a stern look.
She sighs, looking back at me. “Happiness looks good on you. Whatever it is, keep at it.”
Sloane pushes off the work bench and heads back to the car she was supposed to be doing an oil change on.
Jagger doesn’t move.
“Bro, what’s going on?”
I shake my head. “Nothing. Had a good night.”
“Is it that girl you left with last week?” he asks.
I frown. I forgot that he met her.
“It’s her, isn’t it? She was pretty.”
I narrow my eyes at him. “Watch it.”
He smirks. “Well, no need to deny, you just confirmed it. Fuck, dude. That’s great.”
“Shut up,” I mutter, going back to my car.
Before I can get back under it, my name is called out.
“Tank.”
I look over and see Smoke with his head poked into the back room. I nod and get back up to head his way.
“Now he’s really in trouble,” Jagger jokes.
“I will cut you in your sleep,” I threaten.
He only laughs.
Fucker.
Walking through the front lobby into the back room, I find Smoke waiting for me.
“What’s up?”
“Need you to handle an issue. Hanks is stepping out of line. Fox is going to send you a file. Go have a chat with him.”
“Got it. Need me to go now?”
“Yeah. Jagger has been a real dick lately. He can cover your work.”
“You heard that, huh?”
He nods. “It’s none of my business, but if you’re happy, then I am. If she becomes worth it, bring her to meet us.”
“I will.”
Leaving him in the office, I walk back through the shop toward the back room. “You’re picking up my work, Jag. Enjoy,” I call out to him.
“What the fuck, man?”
I smile, ignoring him as I get ready for my next task.
I slip on my cut, ready to head out and do my job.
Pulling up to the construction site, I turn off my bike.
Crow looks over at me from the roof of the house. I give him a nod to come meet me.
He says something to the guys before he climbs down from the roof and heads my way. “What’s going on?”
He knows as well as I do that I don’t stop by in the middle of the day unless it’s club business.
“I need Hanks.”
“Got it. Anyone else?”
I shake my head. “Tell him to suit up. He won’t be coming back today.”
His face hardens. He gets what I’m saying. As the enforcer, I am sent out when shit is going wrong. When someone is in trouble.
“Understood.”
“Do you need extra help?” I ask as I realize that I’ll be leaving him shorthanded.
“Nah, I can handle it.”
“Cool.”
He walks back to the jobsite as I lean against my bike, taking out a cigarette. I smile when I think of how Delaney told me smoking is bad for me. The way she made me pick up my cigarette butt the night we met.
Instead of lighting up, I put the cigarette back in the pack and slip it back into my pocket. She didn’t demand I quit, but if she doesn’t like it, then I can abstain for a while.
Hanks looks nervous as he walks over to me. He has his cut on, which means he stopped at the work truck where they keep their cuts while they work.
“Hey, man. What’s going on?” he asks.
“Let’s take a ride.”
He swallows hard. He knows he fucked up. He’s trying to figure out how badly in his head. The ride will keep him on edge. He will wonder how much I already know. Hopefully he will slip up and tell me it all before I have to get too violent.
Climbing onto my bike, I lead the way. Hanks follows, not once veering off. I’m sure he has considered the merit of running, but he’d be excommunicated from the club. He needs to take his licks like a man. It’s only his first offense. The club will likely vote to keep him on but still punish him.
After riding all the way out to our property in Jay, I turn off the engine. No one is around, but I knew that it would be empty. Smoke wouldn’t have sent me without clearing the place.
Walking away from the driveway, I take him over to look at the pigs. They are interesting creatures. They will eat just about everything.
“So, Hanks. Why don’t you tell me why we are here?” I start, turning to face him.
He is sweating profusely. To be fair, it is Florida, so it is often hot, but his sweating has nothing to do with the weather and everything to do with the reason we are here.
“I don’t know what you mean.”
I punch him in the gut, not giving him a minute to lie to me again. “Choose your words carefully. You know I don’t fuck around.”
Then again, maybe he doesn’t know. I haven’t had to enforce much down here. He’s a newer member, not one from Boston. He hasn’t seen me truly lose my shit.
“Fuck, okay.” He coughs, still bent over. “It’s the gambling. Right?”
I snort. “You mean, running illegal poker games behind the club’s back. Bringing heat onto us that we don’t fucking need for pennies.”
“Running it? No. I don’t fucking run it.”
I grab his head, smashing it into my knee. I hear his nose break, blood spraying everywhere.
“You think we don’t already know? You think I’m out here expecting you to tell me the truth without knowing what the actual truth is?”
“You broke my fucking nose.”
“Yeah, and if you don’t start confessing to your fucking sins, I am going to break your fucking jaw,” I growl.
“Fuck, man. I’m not running it. Seriously. This other dude runs it, but he pays me to show up and gamble. I’m part security, part credibility. He didn’t think anyone with real money would show up without someone shady in the mix.” He spits out blood, looking down at the ground.
“Fox says otherwise. I read the file, man.”
He sighs. “It’s meant to look like it’s not him running it. He is a legit guy. Runs in circles that would get him in trouble if they found out what he was doing. He doesn’t want his career fucked up.”
“So you offered up your services? For a price? Did that seem smart, dude? Do you even fucking know the bylaws? No brother will take on illegal activities outside of the club sanctioned ones. You could be kicked out or fucking killed,” I remind him.
“You think I do it because of the money? Guy has dirt on me. Caught me banging the mayor’s wife a while back. Threatened to tell him. I’m doing this to save the club,” he hisses.
“You are a fucking idiot. I’m going to give you an ass beating then you are going to the clubhouse and tell Smoke everything. I do mean everything. You won’t leave anything out.”
“Yeah, man. I got it.”
I shake my head. “Take it like a man.”
Then I go to work, beating him until he has a black eye and several bruises to remember me by. I leave him well enough to ride, but that’s only because I don’t want to have to figure out how to get him back to the clubhouse.
“Next time, you go to the pigs,” I tell him as he lies on the ground moaning. “Don’t ever break the rules again.”
Leaving him to pull himself together, I walk back toward my bike.
Looking down at my fists, I see the blood.
This is my job. It’s what I do.
I’m the enforcer, and it’s time these new guys remember it.
