Caspian

A message on my phone comes through while I’m in the shower trying to relax after Leo had his fun earlier, and I damn near break my neck sliding across the bathroom floor to see what it is.

Leo has made it clear that when gives me instructions, I need to make sure to follow them.

He was already more aggressive than usual tonight.

I shouldn’t have argued with him like I did earlier.

La-La:

Any chance you’re busy tomorrow night?

I need a fake date of the manly variety for a family thing before they try to set me up with some rando asshole that can make them money

I chuckle at Sheila’s message. We had a brief fling and maintained a bit of a friends with benefits relationship back in college.

She was a welcome respite during some of the times when Leo got fed up with me and would start openly dating other guys.

We’re not exactly close these days, but we occasionally help each other out with things like this where hetero dates are needed and there are no real strings attached.

It hits me that I might be able to solve my problem with Leo’s surrogacy plan as long as Sheila is willing.

If I’m going to sleep with a woman again – something I thought I would never be able to do since I’m with Leo for good – it might as well be someone that I know won’t be a stage five clinger, who is intelligent, beautiful, and caring.

She’s everything I would want in a mother for my child.

Me:

I can do tomorrow on one condition.

La-La:

Name it and it’s urs

Me:

Let me get u pregnant

Chuckling to myself, I return to my shower with the image of La-La sputtering in disbelief.

Running the washcloth over my body, I wince at the bruises from the too tight confines of the contraption.

Turning off the water, I glance down at the chastity cage.

If Sheila agrees, then I will have to get the cage off for tomorrow, right?

I don’t even hesitate to send a text message to Leo.

At the very least, I need to get this damn gag out of my mouth or else I can’t leave the apartment.

Me:

I made the choice.

I’m meeting with her tomorrow

Leo has made it abundantly clear that he doesn’t care for Sheila in my life, so I don’t give any specifics.

Every time I ask him about it, he just says he doesn’t like spending time around women.

Sheila calls him an overbearing misogynist. I play referee.

Since he is leaving the choice up to me, he doesn’t need to know who I’m choosing just yet.

Leo:

I knew you were a good boy

Keys are in the freezer

I race to the kitchen with a towel wrapped around my waist and pull everything out of the freezer in search for the keys.

Sure enough, he didn’t lie about where he put them, even though they were tucked away in the back of the very bottom shelf.

What he neglected to mention was the fact that each of the keys were frozen inside separate blocks of ice – the giant balls of ice that were placed inside of the glasses at high class bars when someone orders a drink on the rocks.

Setting the balls of ice into a strainer, I place it in the sink and start to run warm water over them.

I wish I could trust using hot water, but with Leo out of town with his key, I can’t risk warping or damaging this one.

I settle myself on the floor with my back against the island to wait for the ice to melt enough for me to gain my freedom while I continue to ignore the phone calls from Sheila.

I couldn’t talk right now even if I wanted to.

I didn’t think I had any more tears to give up tonight, but they continue to fall silently down my cheeks as I turn off my phone.

Not for the first time, I wonder what life would have been like had Mom never moved us in with Aunt Gina after Grammy died – what life would have been like had I never gotten caught up in the whirlwind that is Leonardo Radcliffe.
