Chapter 33
KC
The sound of the suite door closing startles me awake. I push myself up and back against the bed’s headboard. The same one I held onto last night while Mattie pounded my pussy from behind.
His hand wrapped around my neck, forcing my head to turn, just enough, allowing him to devour my mouth.
Once he had pulled out, he laid me down on my back and twisted my nipple piercings, my lower back arching in response.
His hands handled me in all the right places.
Mattie kissed my inner thigh before he placed one leg over his shoulder, leading his cock back inside of me, allowing it to go deeper.
Blah, even with our mind-blowing sex, my mind kept drifting off to images of Jared being the one who was getting me off in all the right ways, instead of Mattie, whose dick was buried in my pussy, blowing into a condom.
I bang my head against the headboard softly.
I’m the worst… I cover my face with both of my hands and let out a deep breath, What the fuck, Kailey?
I’m sure I won’t run into Jared again. I didn’t even know he was a cage fighter, but if I’m honest, I don’t know anything about him nowadays. I’ve made that my mission.
I turn my head and look at the pillow on Mattie’s side of the bed, and I notice there’s a small white envelope in his place.
I wrap my naked body with the tan silk bedding, my fingers holding onto the envelope, and pull out the folded piece of paper inside it.
I puff a forceful amount of air from my mouth to get the stray hairs out of my face, and then I read the note that he left for me.
You’ll be mine again, Beauty, very soon.
—M
Folding the note back up, I place it next to my cell phone on the nightstand.
I tap its side button, and the screen lights up.
Text message notifications fill the screen.
I notice Britters is on the top, and she says how sorry she is, again, that I had to see Jared, ending it with a date for a girls’ night this week because there’s information I, “need to know.”
Yuck. I can only imagine what happened at the after-party once Mattie and I left. Do I really want to know?
Travey’s name pops up next. His message reminds me not to miss our family video chat tomorrow, and that he misses me.
I smile and lower myself back into the soft, silk bedding.
The standard black alarm clock lets me know it’s only 8 A.M. Whew, I can go back to sleep for a couple more hours before I have to get ready for my shift at The Purple Room.
Brittney mentioned last night there was no rush for me to leave the suite today.
She probably assumed that Mattie and I would be having fun in the sheets today.
Honestly, I don’t know where he’s always rushing off to, or for whom…
After sleeping in at the hotel, the rest of my day flew by, and now I’m walking into work.
I’m wearing my hair half-up, half-down, and a pair of blue jeans with a black, strapless, fitted shirt.
The chain of my necklace stands out. Brittney called me earlier, making sure that I was really okay.
She only let me off the line after I had agreed to a girls’ night this week.
Pizza, wine, and a movie night with her always sounds amazing.
Or, we can always hit up our favorite karaoke bar, Darla’s.
I might even see if Ajani wants to join.
While I put my personal belongings inside my locker, located in the employee break room, I hear my name being called out—the voice sounds like Melissa, the manager of The Lavender Room.
“Hey! I’m in here!” I yell out in response.
Melissa’s expression is panicked, then relief washes over her once she spots me.
“What’s up? You look worried…”
She crosses her arms and cuts me off. “So… Do you still take those pole dancing workout classes?”
“Oh for sure, once a week. Are you looking to sign up? The instructor is wonderful. It really is an amazing workout, Mel.”
She leans her body back against the wall next to the door and clasps her hands in front of her tightly. “Well, not exactly… I need a favor from you, KC.”
She needs a favor? Oh no, please no, do not ask what I think you’re about to ask. Because it’s Melissa… Nobody is stupid enough to tell a powerful woman like her no.
“Okay?” My eyes don’t leave hers.
“Shelby started puking all over the place after she clocked in. I only need you to do two dances before her replacement dancer can make it here.”
“You do know that I’ve never performed, right? I work out with the pole, not show off.”
Her face doesn’t change from her stone-cold stare as she waits for me to finish.
“KC, you’re beautiful. Your body truly can sell itself.
And you already know how to dance with a pole.
” Her hands go up, pointing outside the break room.
“I even talked to Carter before I came to find you. He said you could leave for the night after your two dances were finished.”
“Really? He doesn’t mind? When I walked in, it looked packed in the bar.”
“Babe, if you think the bar is packed, wait until you see upstairs. Hell, we might even be over capacity up there. And yes, he said you’re good to go home after.”
Well, that would be good for me. I dance to two songs, then go home and read a smutty book to help take my mind off of Jared… and how sexy he had looked last night. Stop it, Kailey. He showed up to the party with not one, but two women, for fuck’s sake.
I twirl my body around in a circle and give her my answer, “As long as you don’t care if I’m horrible on stage, I’ll do it.”
Melissa runs up to me and pulls me in for a quick, and awkward, hug. “Thank you, and I owe you one, love.”
Never know when I might need to call in that favor, but I’ll have it in my back pocket.
Mel looks down at my feet, which are covered with solid black flats. “You can dance barefoot, but only wear this bikini,” she points at my chest, “and lose the necklace.” She hands me a thin, solid black bikini. “Is this what Shelby was going to wear tonight?”
“Yeah, sometimes she does the crotchless bottoms, though. Figured this would work, instead, for you?” Her eyebrows raise as she starts to make her way out the door.
I nod to her and turn back to my locker. It’s time to mentally prepare myself for this. “Wait! How much time do I have to get ready?” I shout, hoping she can hear me.
Popping her head back through the doorway, Mel looks down at her fifty-thousand-dollar watch. “Fifteen minutes.” Then closes the door behind her.
Once I’m in The Lavender Room’s dressing room, I get changed into the bikini, and nerves start to wash over my body.
My breathing becomes erratic, and I feel a sudden bout of lightheadedness.
I look myself up and down in the giant mirror that’s surrounded by light bulbs.
I can’t deny it, I do look very sexy. I pull at my thick hair, and it free falls from the ponytail.
I tussle my hair a few times, spraying it with hairspray—instant volume added.
Thank goodness my toes are cute; they’ve been painted a bright neon teal polish.
A simple diamond-studded belly button piercing has my stomach looking flawless.
There’s lotion next to the mirror. I pick it up and read the fine print.
It’s a perfume lotion with glitter mixed into it. I rub it on my body, everywhere.
“One minute, KC!” Melissa yells, while doing a double knock on the door, and continues walking down the hall.
Nervous is an understatement, but I also feel a thrill of excitement humming underneath my skin.
It’s just a little teasing dance; I can handle that.
I will be powerful out on the stage. I’m about to own that pole for two songs.
Hope the critics out there are ready for me.
This right here is the perfect distraction from Jared, and it starts now.
Two dark purple velvet curtains separate, allowing me to walk out into the darkly lit room.
I head straight for the stage, where there’s a tall, shiny pole right in the middle.
The announcer yells my name as “Gas Pedal” by Sage the Gemini starts to play.
I fix an invisible mask over my face, showing indifference. Now it’s time to sweat.
