Chapter 14
Chapter Fourteen
TECH
Weeks had passed, and there were still no signs leading us to Sire. The girls and I were trying our hardest. Even though I had begged Cara to take a break, she wouldn’t relent. She was determined to find Sire as she adjusted to being a mother of five.
Will's ribs were pretty much healed now. The only lingering injury he had was his broken arm. Unfortunately for him, he still had another month before he could get rid of his cast. He still hadn’t returned to work.
The girls and Crystal felt like he needed to wait until his arm was completely healed.
There were now sixteen kids on the compound, and only four weren’t babies or toddlers. The girls didn’t want any of the younger kids accidentally injuring his arm any more than it already was. Will didn’t like the decision at all.
He was slowly going crazy being stuck in the house. I had taken him to the clubhouse a few times to change the scenery, but that only pacified him. He wanted to meet up with Oscar a few times. I wasn’t taking any chances, though. Sire was out there, and I didn’t know if he was watching.
Will understood, but he didn’t like it. Things wouldn’t be like this forever, but I had to keep him safe. I had already failed him in more ways than one, and I refused to make that mistake again.
Over the past few weeks, I had been over that news article about the cult’s takedown so many times that I could recite it from beginning to end.
There was no mention of anyone being charged with the murder of Cody.
I was beyond frustrated. Guilt kept my mouth closed for a long time.
I should have gone to the police all those years ago when I escaped.
It was too late to turn back now. All I could do was find Sire and seek justice for myself and Cody. His days were numbered.
My ringing phone from the other side of the bathroom door broke my thoughts.
I finished rinsing the soap from my body before stepping out of the shower.
After I dried my body, I wrapped the towel around my waist and made my way to the bedroom.
Will was sitting against the headboard with his legs crossed.
His eyes roamed my body like I was a three-course meal and he was starving. We hadn’t done anything beyond kissing. As much as I was ready to be inside him again, I was also patient.
I grabbed my phone off the dresser and saw I had a missed call from Axel.
I set it back down and grabbed some briefs from the top drawer.
I had practically moved in with Will and his roommates.
No one seemed to mind, though. I was glad no one held my wrongdoings against me.
All the ladies seemed genuinely happy that Will and I were working on our relationship.
When I dropped my towel to put my briefs on, I heard Will gasp behind me.
I looked through the mirror of the dresser, holding back a smirk.
I swear there was a tiny bit of drool leaking from his mouth.
He got out of bed wearing nothing but a pair of sweatpants.
My eyes roamed over his lean body. He walked over to me and threw his arms around my neck.
My hands moved down on their own accord and squeezed his ass.
Will bit his lip, staring into my eyes. “How are you holding up?”
I moved my head from side to side. “I’ve had better days.” I pecked his lips a few times while he ran his fingers through the nape of my hair.
“I need you to start taking care of yourself. I understand that finding Sire is important, but I need you to be healthy, Jacob. You barely get three hours of sleep these days.”
I smiled down at him, loving the concern in his voice. At one point, I lost hope in ever getting him back. Will giving me a second chance made me cherish him even more. He chose me when he didn’t have to, and for that, I would always strive to be a better version of myself.
“Thank you,” I told him again. I didn’t need to elaborate because he knew exactly what I was thanking him for. I had been doing it since he forgave me.
“You don’t have to keep thanking me, Jacob.
When I said we could try again, I meant that.
I love you with all my heart. I don’t want to be with anyone but you.
We were always good together. Our only issue was secrecy.
Now that everything is out and in the open, we’re good.
Nothing about our past will affect our future.
I am only worried about how you treat me from this point on. ”
I kissed him slowly, enjoying the feel of his soft lips. Once I felt myself hardening, I broke the kiss. “I love you so fuckin’ much. You know that?”
He nodded as he blushed from my declaration. “I love you, too.”
Like magnets, our lips found their way to each other. We moved in sync, sucking, licking, and twirling our tongues together. I reached inside his sweats and underwear and gripped his bare cheeks. Will moaned into my mouth, clutching my shoulders.
His hard dick pressed against mine. I ripped my lips from his and began sucking and biting his neck. Will let out that sweet fuckin’ whimper that always drove me crazy. Precum oozed out of my hard rod.
“Fuck, Dimples.”
“Jacob, I need you,” he pleaded, rubbing his length on mine.
Right as I was about to strip him, my phone rang again. I peered down at the screen and saw Cara’s name. I ignored it and got back to the task at hand. I hadn’t been inside Will for too damn long. I wasn’t stopping this moment for anything.
Before I could make my move, my phone rang again. I was ready to fucking lose it. Still, I ignored that call as well. Cara was relentless and called a third time.
“Just answer it, babe. It must be important for her to keep calling.”
I stepped away from Will and snatched my phone up.
“Yeah,” I answered on speaker while panting. Will had me worked up. I felt like I was about to burst at any second.
“I need you and Will to stop humping on each other and turn on the Channel Five news,” Cara said.
Will gasped, and I immediately started looking around the room. Did she have a camera in here?
“How the hell do you know what we were doing?”
“I can hear both of y’all breathing harder than a fat kid who just chased the ice cream truck, that’s how. Now turn on the damn news.” Her voice was filled with urgency.
I grabbed the remote from the nightstand and turned on the television. Once I tuned in to the news, my eyes widened at the headline.
Man Found Beaten to Death at Lakeside Park.
“What the hell is this?” I asked no one in particular.
“Just watch,” Cara urged.
The news anchor was standing not too far from the scene where caution tape was everywhere.
“At approximately six this morning, a local runner found a man dead on the hood of his vehicle. The scene has been cleared, and the body has been removed. Authorities don’t know what the motive is for the crime.
The suspect did however, leave a message on the windshield of the victim's car using his blood. It read ‘Jesus always prevails. SW’ Right now…”
I turned the volume down, not wanting to hear more. Sire had truly lost his fuckin’ mind. He was killing innocent people. I had been looking for him for weeks and hadn’t gotten anywhere. Yet he was able to slip through the cracks and commit murder.
“Oh my God!” Will shouted with tears in his eyes.
I turned to him and saw he was watching the screen, as if he had seen a ghost. I snapped my head back at the television to see why he reacted that way. They were now showing a picture of the victim of the attack.
“What is it, Will?” I asked him.
He shook his head with his hand over his mouth. “I know him. He’s a regular at one of the gay clubs I always go to.”
“Well, there goes the motive,” Cara growled. I forgot I had her on the phone.
“But how the hell would Sire know he was gay?” I started pacing the floor.
“Maybe he watched him like he did me,” Will suggested.
I swayed my head from side to side. “True. But what the fuck does SW stand for? He’s never said that to me.”
It was silent for a moment before Cara spoke up. “I’m willing to bet SW stands for Sinful Warriors. That motherfucker is trying to send a message.”
My heart beat a mile a minute. Was Sire really trying to make it known he was coming for me? If so, he could come out of hiding because I damn sure wasn’t hiding from him. I wanted his ass more than I wanted my next breath.
A baby’s cry broke me from my thoughts. Cara’s voice came through next. “Ah, I have to go. Jasper just woke up. Try not to stress, Tech. We’re going to get his ass. Believe that,” she said and hung up.
Will rubbed my arm and laid a gentle kiss on my chest. “He’s so fuckin’ evil. How can he just take an innocent life like that?”
“Because he’s sick. In his twisted mind, Sire really believes that he’s doing the Lord's work. This isn’t anything outside the norm for him.”
“I hope when you all get your hands on him, he suffers.”
“He will. Without a doubt. But I don’t want to focus on that right now.”
Will gave me a coy smile. “What do you want to focus on?”
I growled, bringing his body to mine. “I can show you better than I can tell you.”
Right as our lips were coming together again, there was a knock on the front door. I swear somebody was about to fucking die!
I snatched a pair of basketball shorts and a shirt and threw them on. Will went into his closet, grabbing a shirt as well. When I swung the front door open, Axel stood there with a worried expression.
“What’s going on?” I asked him.
His eyes shifted to Will, who stood behind me, before he refocused on me. “Uhhh, can we talk in private?”
“Is it club business?”
Axel hesitated for a moment and shook his head. “Umm… No, it’s not.”
“Then tell me. I don’t keep things from Will anymore.”
Will grabbed my hand and linked our fingers. “Babe, it’s fine. I can just go back to the room while—”
