Bonus Epilogue

ENTRY FROM MAISIE’S JOURNAL

Summer before Sophomore Year

Summer has been crazy! Wren and I have spent nearly every day together whether it was at work or on the lake. The barista’s at Lakeside Grounds are probably having to order soooo much caramel syrup from the amount of iced caramel oat milk lattes we order. I can’t help it, they’re so good.

Anyway, I can’t believe next year I’ll be a sophomore! Freshman year went by so fast but I’m glad I’m not at the bottom anymore. It makes me feel more grown up knowing we aren’t the “fresh meat” … what a gross thing to say!

Speaking of school, Miles Bellwood came into the diner!

I haven’t seen him since he graduated, I couldn’t believe it!

Yes, he’s still just as attractive. I didn’t get to wait their table but Wren did, nope not jealous at all (sarcastic much?) She said that he wasn’t with his parents but there were two other adults and a boy who looked our age.

I’m so jealoussssss, ugh! I wish he had a brother or something, but if he looked like Miles, he would be wayyyy too hot to be with someone from small town Ruby Lake. Bleh.

I wonder when I’ll get a boyfriend… The boys here are just… no. Not my type. I honestly don’t know my type except that it’s no one in Ruby Lake. One thing is for sure, though, and that’s that Joe Jonas will always be my type. I hope he doesn’t go bald.

Today’s Sunday which means Grandma, Mom, and I are doing our weekly pasta night.

I think tonight is Grandma’s fettuccine Alfredo, aka my favorite.

I love these nights we have together so much, just us three spending time together.

Actually, I should go see if they need help with anything… bye for now!

xo, Maisie
