Chapter 12 – Andie
ANDIE
We walked back towards the booths side by side, not touching at all, though I desperately wanted to take his hand.
That was the most mind-blowing sex I’d ever had.
How the fuck could Brooke say he was a shit lover?
But then, I knew she was just saying things to hurt him.
He was ah-maze-ing, and not what I thought he would be—no shy guy in the bedroom.
My legs still felt shaky, and my body tingled all over.
“Hey, I hope you’re making them pay for drinks,” I said to Lauren with a smile as we stood beside the booth.
“They’ve been perfect gentlemen, though we have bought a few of our own so as to not bankrupt them.” She laughed.
“Yeah, the drinks here are super pricey. Ridiculous really,” Baz said with a smile and a wiggle of his eyebrows.
“Talk to the owner mate,” I replied, laughing.
It was nice to have their company. They were loud and boisterous, but not too much, and it added to the fun.
Morgan and I slid into the booth, next to the girls.
Morgan’s hand was on my thigh under the table, tracing circles on my bare skin.
It was sending jolts through me as my mind and body were at war about having sex with him.
The end of the night had come too quickly, between having fun with the larger group again and my dalliance with Morgan.
I said goodbye to Morgan and promised to call him in the morning.
I locked up the club with Lauren and Betty, then Jameson and Kirrick, two of my security team, walked us to our car, though it was only a few spaces down, and wished us good night.
We were just pulling away when Lauren spotted Morgan and Baz walking down the street.
I pressed the privacy button and asked our driver to stop the car.
Pushing down the window button, I called out, “Hey, what are you two doing?”
“Our so-called friends have taken the taxi without us,” Morgan said. “We’re headed to the taxi rank to see if we can get another.”
“We can give you a lift home,” I said, opening the door and scooting across to let them in.
“That would be great, thanks,” Morgan replied, letting Baz get in first, then following before closing the door.
“Thanks for this,” Baz said. “Assholes went off and left us.”
“You should have come back to the club. We’re always there until about three-ish.”
“Well, we know that now for future.” Morgan smiled at me. I felt his gaze burning on my skin.
We dropped Baz off first, then the girls. As soon as Lauren had gotten out of the car, Morgan slid across to the seat next to me.
“I’m glad they’re finally gone.” His hand slid up my dress. My legs opened of their own accord and he started rubbing at my clit as he sucked on my neck.
“Mmm, that’s nice.” I turned my head and met his lips with mine. “Tonight, was amazing.” I moved back and rubbed at his erection through his jeans.
“I agree, and not to push it, but maybe we could have more amazing moments?” He looked at me hopefully as we pulled up outside his house.
“Maybe we will,” I replied and left him with a lingering kiss, watching him as he walked to his door.
The driver pulled into my driveway and watched me until I got to the front door and stepped inside before driving away.
My cheeks ached from the smile on my face, and I fought the urge to clap my hands together.
I hadn’t been this happy in a long time.
I just hoped that I wasn’t making a huge mistake.
I locked the door behind me, dropped my bag on the floor and toed my shoes off, before floating to my bedroom.
Getting into bed, all thoughts were of Morgan.
I was still wondering if I had made the right decision, but at the same time my body was filled with the warmth of starting a new type of bond with him.
The next morning, I woke up feeling great after the best night’s sleep in months. I turned over to grab my phone from my nightstand, only to feel that it wasn’t there. My mind went to the night before and I remembered I’d dropped my bag by the front door when I got in.
I got out of bed and padded to the front door, the feel of the cold tiles in the hallway on my feet waking me up even more. Pressing the screen, I saw a few texts from Morgan.
M: Last night was out of this world.
M: I’d like to see you again
Also, I’d had a text from Kate.
K: Come up early to sunbathe in garden. Nolan is out for the day.
I didn’t want to see Morgan with his mother there, not this soon after sleeping with him. I texted back. I didn’t know if I would be able to keep my eyes, or hands for that matter, off him, and things would be awkward enough with Kate.
A: Why don’t you come down to mine? Pool and Jacuzzi?
K: I would love to, but Morgan has Charlie, and I would like to see him.
K: I understand if you don’t want to come over x
There was a text from Lauren to the group chat we had going on.
L: Sooo, did you give up the goods to Mr tall, dark, and hot as hell?
B: And if you did, is he as good as he looks?
I giggled and texted back.
A: Maybe.
B: Fuck, you did, didn’t you?
I heard sounds coming from my kitchen, so I texted back.
A: I’ll call you girls later. Just headed up to Kate’s.
B: Oh, you’re seeing him again? He must be good.
A: I WILL CALL YOU LATER!
I padded across the deep cream carpet to see Jonathan placing two full breakfasts onto my dining room table.
“Morning, thanks.” I smiled when Jonathan handed me a cup of coffee, and I settled into my seat at the table.
“All okay at the club last night?” He took his seat opposite mine.
“Yeah, business seems to be picking up.” I took a sip of the hot, dark goodness that was coffee.
“That’s good.” He nodded and began to eat.
My thoughts turned to Morgan. Seeing the change in him last night from shy to…
well… not so shy, had made me see him in a new light.
My pulse quickened and I pressed my legs together.
I felt heat rising from my chest into my neck.
I picked up a slice of toast and nibbled on it, trying to give me something else to focus on.
Using his toast to soak up the tomato juice, Jonathan paused before asking, “You okay?” He narrowed his eyes at me.
“Yeah, just wiped out, I think.” I dropped the toast to my plate and instead, focused on my coffee once more.
“There’s a new man, I take it?” Jonathan grinned at me, wiggling his eyebrows, whilst stuffing a piece of bacon into his mouth.
“What? How did you?... Lauren texted you, didn’t she?” I shook my head in disbelief and grinned.
“She did, but only to check if you were okay.” Jonathan put down his cutlery and studied me. Tilting his head to the side, he placed his elbows on the table and interlocked his fingers. “Are you okay?”
“I think so. It’s weird that he’s Kate’s son, right? he’s so nice, and I don’t know if I’m ready for another relationship,” I blurted out. I felt my face burning up and I quickly looked away from him.
“Wait. The new guy is Morgan? Lauren just said a new guy.” Jonathan looked at me with wide eyes and a big grin.
“Yeah, he’s Kate’s Morgan. He’s amazing, Jon, but I don’t know if I ever want a relationship again, and he does. He wants so much more from this than I can give.” I sighed, pressing my lips tightly together, and began to push my food around my plate.
“Look,” Jonathan started. He reached across the table, and I took his hand.
I looked up at him and fidgeted under his gaze.
“There are two types of people in this world, those who need to be in relationships and those who don’t.
You are the type who is fiercely independent but loves to have someone to come home to at night, someone to love, who you can depend on.
Morgan seems like a good guy; good job, smart, nice but not too nice, which is good for you, because sometimes you need someone to rein you in.
I’m glad you said yes.” Jonathan smiled warmly at me, holding my gaze.
The warmth in his eyes caused me to smile back at him. “Well, I said no to a date, but we did spend time together last night.” Memories of the previous night flooded my mind, and colour stained my cheeks. “I have to go.” I didn’t want to talk about my sex life with my brother.
“Just don’t break his heart. He’ll be starting work on our house soon, and I don’t want it to fall down!” Jonathan shouted behind me.
“Har-dee-fucking-har, Jon,” I called back and slammed my bedroom door behind me.
I picked up my phone and saw an email from Nolan with the final plans for the outdoor area and a quote. I replied, agreeing to both.
Not wanting to let Kate down, I replied to her text from earlier.
A: I’ll be there soon. Do you need me to get anything for you?
K: No, just bring yourself.
I also texted Morgan back.
Last night was amazing, I’ll see you soon x
I put on a gold one piece and threw a full body wrap over it, just to cover up a little.
I drove up to Kate’s house, my heart thumping and with a dry mouth.
I had no idea what to say to Morgan this morning.
Had I made things worse by sleeping with him?
I knew he had feelings for me, but instead of standing my ground and remaining friends, I gave in and may have ruined it for us.
The little devil on my shoulder chose that moment to butt in. It did feel good being with him, though. The sex was good—no, it was out of this world—and he was perfect in every way, aside from wanting a relationship. Besides, I’d started it by kissing him back on New Year’s Eve.
Shit, I couldn’t stay out here forever. I got out of the car, locking it behind me and walked to the door.
“Please let Kate answer the door, please let it be Kate,” I said under my breath.
The door opened to Morgan’s smiling face. My heart just about stopped. If I’d been a cartoon character my eyes would have turned to love hearts and bulged out of my face.
He was topless, wearing only neon orange swim shorts. His perfect chest, abs, and delicious ‘V’ shape that disappeared into his shorts were all on show. His dark hair was a mess and not the neat style I was used to seeing on him, but I liked the ‘just out of bed’ look on him.
He looked me up and down quickly and licked his lips. Those lips that had taken possession of mine last night and…. Fuck Andie, stop. I couldn’t help myself; he was so hot.
“Come in, Mum’s out back.” He stepped back for me to walk through the door and into the hallway.
He smelled different today, a fresh citrus scent.
I hung my bag on the coat hanger behind the front door and walked down the hallway to the kitchen, which led out to the back, hyper aware of him walking so close behind me.
I nearly squealed out loud when Morgan grabbed my waist, spun me around and kissed me deeply, his fingers digging into my hips.
“You look fucking amazing,” he said, his lips not leaving mine for long.
I pushed him away. “Stop, your mother could come in.” I looked out towards the back.
He glanced towards the kitchen before pulling me back to him, his hand sliding under the cover-up and inside my swimsuit, caressing my arse. I leaned into him, kissing him back, my hand gently moving over the bulge in his shorts. All thoughts of Kate vanished as his hand touched my bare skin.
“Mmm,” I moaned as his hands gripped my arse tighter.
“I need you again,” he murmured into my ear, his lips moving to kiss my neck.
“Mmm, I want you, too.” I rubbed harder at his erection.
“Morgan, was that Brooke?” Kate called from outside. His mother’s voice snapped us out of it, and we jumped away from each other as if we’d been burned.
“No, it’s just me. I’m on my way,” I called out, hoping the quiver in my voice wasn’t too evident.
“Oh, good. Grab a drink and come out.”
I began walking out to the kitchen, making sure my clothing was back in place. Morgan stepped up close behind me, hands resting on my waist.
“I can’t wait to fuck you again, but next time I get to taste you.” He adjusted himself, took my hand and led me into the kitchen, before passing me a cold drink.
I was grateful for his hand in mine, as after the last sentence he uttered, my legs were shaking like mad.
It could be fun, after all. Maybe friends with benefits would work for us, I thought as I clinked glasses with Kate and sat down in the recliner next to her.
Picking up her sunscreen, I started to rub it into my skin.
“You two ladies have fun, I’ll be upstairs.” Morgan smiled at me and disappeared back into the house.
I watched him go, lifting my sunglasses up to get a better view. Nice arse.
“You okay, Andie?” Kate asked, dropping down her sunglasses to look at me.
“Yeah, I, uh, sorry.” I blushed, the burn on my face had nothing to do with the sun as I continued to put sun cream on.
“How are things at the club?” Kate asked laying back and tilting her face up to the sun.
“They seem to be doing well. Gareth and Lauren have done a good job keeping things afloat when I wasn’t around.
” I put the sun cream down and lay back.
The sun’s rays warmed my skin, leaving it feeling a little tingly.
“The club is great, just need to do the house now. We have a good start with the bar, library and then the kitchen, but I was wondering if you would have a look at the other rooms?” I turned to look at her, picking up my glass and pressing it against my forehead.
The cold felt good against my warm skin.
“Of course I will. Which room?” She turned and propped herself up on her elbow.
“All of them. They need colour and personality. They’re all just black, white, and cream. I need a bit more of…” I trailed off, unsure of exactly what I wanted.
“A bit more of you in them?” she asked.
“Yeah, at the moment it feels like I’m living at a hotel rather than it being a home.”
“No problem at all. Let’s work room by room.
You tell me what colours you like or the feel you want in each room, and I’ll pull together some ideas for you.
” She grinned; her eyes sparkled in excitement.
Kate loved her job, and it showed in her designs.
“Now, let’s get our tanning on.” She chuckled.
“Thank you.” I smiled, settling back down onto the recliner. I let my body relax into the soft fabric below me and let the sun darken my skin.
