Chapter 5
Dina
“Well...anyone else at your new school catch your eye? C’ mom, there has to be someone.”
Lucy propped her chin on her hand, matching my teasing grin with a smirk of her own.
“I could ask you the same thing,” I laughed. “Your school’s bigger. Any hot boys catch your eye?”
The teasing grin fell right off her lips, and her face took on a peculiar look. Her expressive eyes darted to the left.
“Oh, my god, you’re blushing!” I shrieked. “Here you are giving me shit when you’re hiding your own mystery boy. C’mon! Spill.”
Lucy and I had finally carved time to video chat. Even though I’d made a new friend in Cass, I still missed my best friend. It was weird not being able to see her every day, even though we texted almost hourly. She hadn’t mentioned any cute boys she was interested in, though.
Her face was bright red, even through the screen, but just when she opened her mouth to confess, a large figure suddenly loomed behind her.
“Oh!” I almost dropped my phone.
Michael.
My face burned, and I reared back from my phone. Every sexual thought, act and word we'd exchanged came crashing to the surface. What happened to the vixen who'd licked her own juices from her phone? She was now cowering in embarrassment.
Lucy turned and jumped. “Jesus, Dad!” She scooted up to sit on her knees. “Sneak up much?”
But he wasn’t paying Lucy a lick of attention. His whole focus was on her phone. On me. I felt the buzz of electricity between us. That spike of desire that hit me low in my belly and kept me awake at night in a fit of desire.
“What?” Lucy asked, looking from her dad to her phone.
I dropped my head, not wanting Lucy to see the truth in my eyes. That I wanted her dad. That her dad had had his fingers and tongue up my pussy. That we touched ourselves to the sound of our voices moaning for each other.
“Dina,” he growled. “How are you?”
My cheeks were still hot. I rubbed at my shoulder and gave Michael a small smile. “Fine, Mi–Mr. Thomas.”
He leaned over Lucy, glaring into her screen. “Have you been behaving?”
What? How fucking dare he? That he can demand that after how he left me?
“Dad–”
“Actually,” I haughtily cut in. “Luce and I were just talking about a date I have coming up.”
“Uhh...we were?” She asked, her head volleying between the two of us.
I lifted my chin. “I have a date this weekend.”
“You do?” Lucy’s face was scrunched in confusion.
Michael leaned further forward, his face a little red. “If that ever happens–”
He abruptly cut off before standing back straight and running a hand through his hair.
Bunched shoulders slowly came down, and his face softened as he fixed Lucy with a wide smile before ruffling her hair. She made an annoyed sound and waved his hands away.
“You know what? I forgot to mention that I’m popping into Koby Plains this weekend.”
“Huh?” Lucy responded, clearly confused.
I gasped as Lucy and her dad went back and forth about his reason for coming down. I tuned out their conversation as I internally freaked out. There was no way he was coming just for me…right?
“So Luce, you’re coming, right?” I interrupted. I couldn’t handle seeing Michael so soon. I needed time to mentally prepare…to decide whether I was still pissed at him.
Lucy didn’t respond. Her wide-eyed gaze was fixed on her screen as her hand fiddled with it.
“Luce,” I said again, trying to communicate that she better get her ass back to Koby Plains with her father.
“Sorry, Dee,” Lucy said, her mouth turning down in apology. “I have a test on Monday. I was planning on studying this weekend with a study buddy.”
Michael’s hand came down on Lucy’s shoulder. “Yeah, it’s a good idea for you to get ahead in your studies. I’ll only be gone for the night anyway. I’ll drive back Sunday afternoon.”
I gulped as he gave me a warning look, his eyes piercing my soul.
It made one thing clear: he was coming for me whether I was ready or not.
