Chapter 10 #2
With a groan, he pulled her hard against his body.
As he kissed her urgently, his tongue stroking hers, she wrapped her arms around his neck and moved against him.
His clothes were rough against her skin and a delicious sensation cascaded through her as she slid her body over his.
She didn’t even realize that he was walking her backward until she hit the bed with the back of her knees.
Instantly, she fell backward, but his hands never left hers and he eased her down on the mattress.
“Some have called ye a ghost, wife,” he muttered in a strangled voice. “Doona disappear, Sloane. I must taste ye.”
“I am not going anywhere.”
Rising, he quickly stripped off his clothes and, torn between curiosity and nervousness, she watched as his bare skin was revealed.
Inch by inch, she took in his broad shoulders and the hard muscles of his chest and abs.
A strange sound caught in her throat when his erection, long and proud, jutted out and she knew this was what Elspeth had told her to touch.
Before she could reach for him, his body was bearing down on her and covering her as his mouth stole more hungry kisses.
Driven by an urgent desperation that she didn’t understand, she explored him with her hands just as he stroked her up and down her side.
She wanted to protest when they parted, but he slid down her body and slipped his mouth over her nipples.
“Lachlan!”
Without understanding what was happening, she parted her legs under him and arched into his mouth. His tongue teased and flicked over her nipple until the sounds coming out of her mouth didn’t even sound human. Desire pooled at her sex and she tried to pull him closer to her.
“So responsive to my touch,” he muttered as he lifted and stared at his head. “I wonder how ye will scream when my tongue is on ye and my fingers are stroking deep inside of ye.”
“When yer tongue is…” Her voice trailed off in shock as his mouth moved down her abdomen, and he settled between her legs and placed a kiss on her inner thigh. “Lachlan, that cannae be right.”
He chuckled darkly, but rather than telling her that she was wrong, he slid his tongue over her wet slit and she arched and squealed at the ecstasy that pulsed inside of her.
From there, she had no criticism as his tongue flicked over a button of pleasure and he pushed one finger inside of her.
When he added a second, he stretched her and drove her higher.
Mindless, she pulled at his hair and begged him for her release, but when her voice reached a high pitch and she feared that she would shatter, he stopped.
“No. No!” she moaned. “Why did ye stop?”
“Ye are incredible.” Pausing only to place a kiss on her nipple, he rushed back up her body and pressed his lips to hers.
She tasted the tangy juices on his tongue and felt wild and dirty.
“And later, I will do that again until ye are rising to the heavens, but I need ye wet for me, Sloane. I doona want to hurt ye any more than I have to.”
“Ye willna hurt me.”
It didn’t even seem possible to feel pain when there was this heat between them. As his erection settled between her legs, she instinctively pulled her knees up. Even though she’d never done this before, she knew that she wanted him. She knew that she had to have him.
Lost in the thick haze of lust, she moved her hands over the rippling muscles of his back. “Look at me, Sloane,” he demanded harshly. “Look at me when I enter ye. Ye belong to me now.”
Slowly, he eased inside of her and she struggled to accommodate him. There was a pinch in the beginning, but when he eased his hand between their bodies and touched that magic spot again, the pain was quickly replaced by pleasure and he continued to stroke her as he withdrew and thrust.
With a groan, he stopped. “Do ye feel me, Sloane? I am all the way inside of ye. Och, lass, ye feel so good. Wrap yer legs around me. Just like that. Woman, ye will drive me mad with pleasure.”
He moved and there was nothing that she could say in response. His manhood slid inside of her, over a sweet spot she didn’t even realize existed, and it wasn’t long before all she could do was chant his name over and over again as they rose.
Arching off the bed, she clutched at his body until she lost all control. The dam broke inside of her and her shrieks echoed off the walls as she clenched around him and came apart.
“Sloane,” Lachlan moaned and pulled her knees up tight as he drove into her. Capturing her lips, he moved hard and fast until he shuddered and spilled himself inside of her.
Lachlan’s arms were still around her when Sloane woke up.
His breathing was slow and even, indicating that he was still asleep, and she let her eyes drift shut as she relaxed in his warmth.
Last night had been far better than anything that she could ever imagine and she wasn’t ready to let go of the moment.
Elspeth had told her to trust him and it had been the best advice.
She’d been so caught up in her own fears.
She was afraid to tell him that her father didn’t love her, afraid to tell him that her own clan didn’t care about her.
She had worried that he would question her place here and now, in the daylight, she still feared that, but last night, she’d let all of that go and trusted him and it had been a wonderful experience.
She felt connected to him on multiple levels.
If he could learn to love her, then maybe she could finally tell him the truth.
Maybe she could learn to love him too.
Slowly, she moved her fingers up and down his arm and marveled at how gentle and strong they could be. Elspeth had told her things that had made her blush and now, just the thought of them made her toes curl. The number of ways that Lachlan could take her. It made her heart pound.
“After last night, I had thought that ye would wake up more relaxed,” he murmured drowsily as he pressed a hand to her chest. “I can all but hear the blood rushing through yer body. Is there something amiss?”
Chuckling, she rolled in his arms and faced him. “Not with ye. I didna mean to wake ye.”
With a yawn, he pulled her even closer in his heat. “Ye didna wake me. In truth, I should already be up by now. Are ye sore?”
“No. ’Tis a good bed.”
“Nay.” He slid his hands along her back and to her thighs. “I mean here. Are ye sore here?” His fingers brushed over the curls of her sex and an embarrassed flush spread throughout her body.
“Just a little,” she murmured as she attempted to hide her face. It felt unseemly to be speaking of things like this.
As if he knew what she was thinking, he stroked her hair and kissed her forehead. “I can have yer morning meal sent up to ye if ye would like. Ye can stay here ’til ye are ready to come down.”
He was too sweet to her. “I will join ye for yer meal downstairs. I have things I need to do today and there is no reason for me to stay in bed.”
“Things to do?” He narrowed his eyes. “Do these things include secret conversations with Elspeth?”
Apparently, Lachlan was still a little angry about that, but she wasn’t going to give up her friend. “Yes, they do include Elspeth and ye will not tell me that I cannae speak to my friend. I have never had one before, but I do know that she helped me.”
“Ye have never had a friend?”
She would rather go back to talking about her sore muscles than have this conversation with Lachlan. Instead, she pushed back the blankets and tried to rise, but Lachlan tightened his hold around her.
“Sloane, eventually ye are going to have to talk to me about yer life at home.”
If she did that, then she would have to remember the wishes of her father and she couldn’t do that just yet. “This is my home and I am famished.”
With a sigh, he eased his hold and she wiggled out of his arms. Seeing her dress on the floor, she picked it up and winced when she saw the rips and tears.
Perhaps she could get Elspeth to mend it.
Straightening it on the bed, she hurried to the armoire to pick out something else to wear.
All the while, she noticed that Lachlan had made no move to get off the bed and just watched her.
Slipping on one of the dresses that Freya had loaned her, she tied the sash around it and finally turned to face him. “Shall I have yer morning meal brought up to ye?” she asked with an innocent smile.
With a soft laugh, he got out of bed and she swallowed at the sight of his naked body. No wonder he hadn’t wanted to get up. His manhood was hard and up and he wore a proud smirk. “If ye were not sore, I would say aye and then we could spend the rest of the morn in bed.”
Swallowing hard, she put her hands on his naked chest. Memories of last night surfaced and she grew damp at the idea of his hands and mouth on her again. “As I said before, I am not that sore.”
“Aye, but I would prefer to take ye when ye are not sore at all. Tonight, my sweet.” Bending his head, Lachlan kissed her long and slow and her heart fluttered. “Go. I’ll meet ye downstairs soon.”
For a moment, she wanted to argue, but she had been strangely combative with her husband already this morning by fighting against his wishes that she did not see Elspeth. So, Sloane turned and left him alone in the room.
The keep was quiet as she walked down the halls. The solace gave her a few moments to collect her thoughts. She was still trying to figure out how she felt about last night. Elspeth warned her that it might change things for her. She assumed that Sloane was afraid of Lachlan, but that wasn’t true.
She wanted to make her marriage work and at least in the bedroom, she had the luxury of giving herself over to him and hoping that he might accept her.
