Chapter 24 #2

“I saw exactly what Tyler was doing,” he says, his voice dangerously low as he finally looks at Tyler.

“Hey, man, the lady didn’t ask you to act like her bodyguard. We were just having some fun,” Tyler says. He reaches for my hand, perhaps hoping I’ll go with him, and I cling to my purse, pretending not to see.

Both men notice, and if the atmosphere was tense before, now it feels like electricity crackling in the air.

Chief takes my hand, sending a flush of heat through my body at the contact. “Let’s go, Sadie.”

“Maybe she wants to stay with me. Let her go.” Tyler steps forward, as if to try to wrestle me from Chief’s grip.

I can tell from Chief’s expression that if Tyler gets any closer, he’ll regret it. “It’s fine, Tyler, I was ready to go home anyway.”

Tyler looks at me, baffled, his eyes landing on my hand, which is still in Chief’s, as if he can’t quite believe what’s happening.

He hesitates, uncertain, aware that he’s one wrong word away from a fight with a guy far bigger and more dangerous than he is.

“Are you sure this is what you want, Sadie? It’s like these guys have brainwashed you. Turned you into something you’re not.”

A humorless chuckle escapes Chief’s lips.

“You have no idea who Sadie is, you barely know her.” He has a point.

Tyler hardly knows me at all. Even if I might be acting differently toward Mom Sadie, I’m still me.

In fact, I’m more like the person I used to be before Ethan, before motherhood, but Tyler wouldn’t know that.

“You have no idea how well I know Sadie. If it wasn’t for you and your gang—”

Chief steps closer, the threat of violence radiating from him. “I dare you to finish that sentence.”

Tyler’s mouth hangs open as he scrambles for something to say. It’s clear that Tyler is used to being the alpha male and is left clueless in this scenario against a guy who isn’t intimidated by his muscles, who’s bigger and stronger than he is.

At that moment, a burly bouncer appears. “Everything okay here, folks?”

“Yes, we were just leaving,” I say apologetically, acutely aware of the stares we’re attracting. Chief doesn’t budge, his eyes boring into Tyler. I pull his hand. “Weren’t we, babe?”

My words snap him out of it, and the red mist that had descended clears. “Right,” he replies tersely, his eyes flicking back to Tyler once more in a silent warning to stay away. He nods at the bouncer before turning and leading me through the crowd.

It’s only once we’re safely out of the club and away from the building in the quiet alleyway where Chief’s bike is parked that I finally explode.

I hit his muscular back with my purse, wrenching free from his grip.

“What the fuck, Chief? What happened to staying away? You scared the shit out of Tyler. He was just—”

Chief rounds on me, eyes like fire. “Just what? Laying his hands on you? Making you feel uncomfortable? Trying to take advantage of you while you’re drunk?”

I step back, pressing against the wall, and he moves closer, one arm braced against it, towering above me and making my pulse race. I open my mouth to protest, but he’s right, Tyler did do all of those things, sort of. “Why do you care?”

“I care because you’re hooking up with my best friends. I care because that guy is a creep. I care because—” he cuts off abruptly, as if catching himself just in time before saying he doesn’t want to.

He’s so close I can feel the energy radiating off him, anger and something else far more dangerous. I should be afraid, but instead, I’m turned on. “Because what?” I challenge quietly, tilting my chin up to meet his eye.

It’s as if he only now realizes how close he is, how he’s pinned me against the wall. I see a flicker of hesitation in his eyes, and my stomach drops at the thought that he might pull away. “Are you jealous?” I goad.

“Of course I was fucking jealous.”

“Why?” The word catches in my throat, coming out as a barest whisper.

“God damn it, Sadie,” he curses under his breath, resolve wavering. “You know why.”

I shake my head. “Do I? Because it seems to me, you’ve had plenty of opportunities to show me how you feel, and you’ve walked away every time.”

A muscle jumps in his forehead, the frown disappearing before it can form. “I do it for you.”

“Why? Because you’re afraid you’ll lose control?” I know I’m pushing my luck now. The alcohol has loosened my inhibitions, made me bolder. I press closer, leaving only an inch between us, close enough that he can probably smell the fruity cocktail on my breath.

He meets my gaze. “No, I’m afraid you won’t be able to handle my control.”

I reflexively gulp, my heart jumping into my throat. I force myself to stare into those intense hazel eyes that bore into me. “Try me.”

A sound akin to a growl escapes his lips.

He pins my hands above my head, circling my wrists with just one hand, and kisses me.

His kiss is firm and sure, and my body quickly responds.

I want to touch him, to feel his body, but he holds me firm.

With one foot, he pushes my legs apart wide, and his other hand reaches between my thighs to stroke me through the lace of my panties.

He kisses my neck, and I moan. He immediately stops, and I yearn for his touch so badly it hurts. He grips my wrists tighter.

“Not a sound, or I’ll stop. Understand?”

I nod, biting my lip.

“Good girl.”

He kisses me again, and I melt. He continues to kiss me, his fingers teasing me through my panties as he holds me firmly in place, pressed up against the wall.

The brickwork is cold and hard against my back, the sounds of music thudding through the walls, partygoers walk past, laughing.

If they turned and looked down the alley, they’d see us, but I don’t care.

With one swift tug, Chief rips my panties completely off me, and I gasp.

He tucks them into his jacket pocket before looking me in the eye as he slides his fingers inside me.

I open my mouth to moan, and he abruptly stops moving, fingers inside me.

I bite down on my lip, not wanting him to stop for anything.

With his fingers alone, he quickly brings me to a shuddering, silent orgasm, and I bite down on his shoulder to stop myself from crying out.

Only when I’ve stopped cumming does he remove his fingers.

He holds my arms still, meeting my eye once more as he licks his fingers clean of my juices. The sight is sexy enough that I almost cum again. Finally, he releases my wrists, and I reach for him, wanting to return the favor, wanting more, wanting him. He catches my hand in his and shakes his head.

“Not here. I want you to know exactly what you’re signing up for first, and you won’t be able to stay quiet,” he adds with quiet certainty.

I nod, not quite trusting myself to speak yet. He offers me his arm, which is good because my legs feel like jello, and we walk to his bike. All of a sudden, I feel acutely aware of the fact that I am now wearing a dress with no panties, and he wants me to straddle a motorcycle.

“Erm… I’m not wearing any panties, remember? You destroyed them.”

He chuckles, a devilish glint in his eye. “I know, why do you think I did it. Now, get on, stay close, wouldn’t want anyone to see.”

My jaw drops. “You’re worse than Dash!”

“Trust me, you’ll enjoy it.” He winks. “They don’t call us the Wild Riders for nothing.”
