“Come here…get on your knees…”
My eyes fly open as the words register in my ears. The sunlight pierces my irises as I take in my surroundings.
“Oh, fuck yes, just like that…”
My neck snaps up in the direction of that deep, velvet voice I’ve become familiar with, but it’s laced with a unique softness and American timbre.
I press into my elbows and push myself up as I peer out into the living room where Lennox stands alone, his back pressed up against the wall.
He’s wearing sweatpants, resting low on his waist with nothing but inked, smooth skin on the top.
His head is thrown back with his jaw slacked, his hand is held out in front of him, as if he’s holding an invisible ball in front of his groin.
“Don’t stop…” Lennox growls out and if I wasn’t seeing this with my own eyes I’d be 100 percent sold on the fact that he was getting a real blowjob.
My cock twitches at the melodic sounds of his whimpers and moans.
No, no. It's not him. It’s just normal. Morning wood is normal. I pull the comforter further up my torso, protecting myself and then clear my throat.
His head pushes off the wall, finding my gaze immediately. His mouth still slightly agape as he shakes himself from the scene.
“Morning,” he says breathy as he stands up straight, closing a copy of the splayed out screenplay on the side table. “Sorry about that, normally I like practicing scenes when there’s a bit more privacy.” I don’t miss the embarrassed chuckle behind his tone.
He doesn’t seem like he would have a shy bone in his body, and for some reason, I find that incredibly endearing.
“Well, you sure picked a helluva scene to rehearse first,” I say, attempting to make him feel more comfortable or maybe myself.
“I like to run through scenes that I don’t have much experience in.”
“You don’t have any experience getting a blowjob?” My literal brain can’t help but spit out the question, and I raise a questioning, but playful, eyebrow.
“Oh, aren’t you cheeky first thing in the morning?” He laughs, tossing a pillow in my direction. “Come on, let’s eat breakfast. I want to go for a hike before we get into our lines.”
“I’m not a fan of hiking.” Lennox pins me with a massively judgmental look.
“It’s just walking…in the woods.”
I huff out a breath.
He’s right. We have all the time in the world. What’s the harm of a little walk in the woods?
“So, yeah. He slid into my DM’s and at first I thought it was a joke so I ignored it. Until a week later when he messaged me again and I realized it wasn’t a fake message.” He shrugs, sharing the details on how got the lead role for his debut film.
“You know how many actors audition and get turned down for every role they try out for? Yet, you’ve got Philip Cedar rolling into your DM’s and you’re all over there playing hard to get.” I can’t help but laugh as I step up on a rock between two large redwood trees.
He chuckles, pushing against my back as if to help me up the steep slope of this Goliath of a mountain, probably trying to protect me from falling to my death.
I’m sure he can tell I don’t typically have experience hiking, nor do I have any directional sense in the middle of the woods.
We’ve effortlessly slid back into that friendly banter we had in the limo yesterday and it makes me feel at ease. I can’t figure out how he’s able to do that but I’m glad.
Everything about him is natural and easy, it brings something out in me that I haven’t felt in a long time, or ever actually. I’m relaxed and not so anxious, which is all foreign to me.
At all times I have to be ‘on’, like someone is always watching me. Because someone always is.
So, I’m going to chalk my positive state of emotions to being in the middle of the woods free of watchful lenses and judgmental eyes and not the six foot something co-star I’ve spent the last year secretly loathing.
“Race you to the top,” he screams, flying past me like the Flash, and my competitive body makes up its own mind, pushing into my sneakers in a reflex reaction. Unfortunately, my coordination has other plans as I slip on a batch of leaf litter and fall flat on my face into a massive mud puddle.
It sloshes over my face and around my hands, and I can’t help but cringe at the sensation. My body completely freezes in the wet dirt, disgusted and fucking embarrassed.
“Oh, shit.” Lennox races back to me, grabbing my hand to help me back up. “Brace yourself,” he says, as he pulls me up, helping me balance.
Once I’m fully standing he steps back, his eyes giving me a once over and bursts out into a full fit of laughter.
“Oh, is this funny to you?” I shake my head, then hold open my palms, brown sludge drenched over every inch of them.
Ew, yuck. I wipe them on myself, hating everything.
“You’ve never been camping before, have you?” he asks.
“Do I look like I camp?”
“Have you ever even hiked before?”
I press my lips into a thin line and give him an incredulous look.
“Okay, that’s a no, too. You just don’t want to admit it out loud. Got it. I’m getting to know you already.” He spits all that out, reading my expression like it was written in crayon.
“Here.” He reaches over his head and whips off his T-shirt in one swoop, handing it to me. “Wipe off your face with this, then we’ll head back.”
Why is he always topless?
I can’t help my eyes from trailing over his torso again. Like I can’t resist studying all the lines of his tattoos and serrated muscles.
“You must like my tattoos.” He’s still holding out his shirt, and I realize I stalled because of my current obsession with his stupid abs.
“I wasn’t looking. It’s the mud…in my eyes.” I snatch the shirt from him wiping as much away as I can but I’m distracted by the distinct scent of a rugged man. Deep rich cedar and woodsy after tone and I’m surprised how much I like it.
What the hell is wrong with me?
“Come on, let’s head back.” I turn around quickly, taking full advantage of cutting this hike short when a loud crack of wood echoes around us.
I stop dead in my tracks. My body is stalled once again as two large doe eyes stare right back at us.
“Holy shit, it’s a goddamn moose.” I scream-whisper through frozen lips trying not to instigate anything with the unpredictable, wild animal.
Lennox snort laughs at me and I slowly pan my neck in his direction, my eyes searing into him like they could laser him to death.
“It’s a deer, mate. It’s harmless.” He pats me on the back; his movement surprises the so-called moose-deer and it bucks its back heels as it begins to move.
“Ah, fucking shit. Fuck!” Jumping back, I grab onto Lennox, pulling him close as I hide and duck behind him, using him like a shield to protect me from the massive beast.
A moment of silence passes, only the leaves rustling in the wind and the distant footsteps of the retreating animal. Lennox steps to the side as he wraps his hands around my arms and pulls me in front of him.
“It ran off. It’s more scared of you than you are of it.” His eyes take in my embarrassingly shocked demeanor, the corner of his lip turns up in a smirk but I can tell he’s holding back a full blown laughing attack, then adds, “probably.”
I stutter out a shy laugh, attempting to ignore my gut reaction to the stupid deer.
“I’m just not used to this.”
“I couldn’t tell.” His smile widens, his eyes playful and not judgmental.
“Alright, Moose. Let’s head back.”
