My smile is unrelenting and impossible to smother.

“So, your curiosity is very specific to me,” I say, taking a step closer to him.

“Don’t get cocky about it,” he says, all accusatory and cute.

“Oh, I am,” I say, sure of myself, and that makes him smile.

All this time I wasn’t sure if Jace has always been bi-curious, or possibly gay, maybe. He’s hardly ever seen with anyone in public but when he is, it’s usually his female co-stars. So, hearing his little confession pleases me to no end.

Our conversation tonight has been heavy so I’m glad we’ve moved into a space that’s more playful, because that’s one of my favorite things to see come out of him. His frisky little spirited side that he doesn’t give to anyone else.

My eyes dart over his face as I take in his sharp features and prominent jawline.

I’m drowning in those baby blues that always look so unsure in moments like these but hold the confidence of a man who knows what he wants.

I see both sides equally and I love being the one that brings part of that uncertainty out in him.

“When did you know…about your curiosity?” he asks.

I toggle my head back and forth, pondering his question. I probably shouldn’t share this bit with him, but like everything else when it comes to Jace Wilder, I can’t seem to help myself.

“There was this after school special on every Wednesday, it was one of the few times we got to watch television in the group home.

I looked forward to it every week, but not because of the content of the show.

It was this blond kid that read stories to us and danced silly with these cartoon characters.

“At the end, he always looked straight-on into the camera and gave some inspiring, positive message about kindness and doing the right thing. It was those moments that I felt connected to him, like he was talking directly to me. He’d always smile at the end and I started to imagine that smile was just for me. I crushed on him so hard. I still am.”

The shy smile that curves his blushed cheeks is everything I was aiming for.

“I didn’t think anyone actually watched that show.”

“I looked forward to seeing you every week,” I admit, as I lean in closer to him. My body is inches away from his. The sensation of need and desire rolls over me, just like anytime I get near him. I lift my arms, pressing my hands onto the window, caging him in.

The heat radiating from my body transfers onto the glass and a sheen of fog outlines my hand. I’m quite literally a fireball inside. I feel like I want to explode, engulfing us both in a flame resistant bubble, blocking everything else out so it’s just me and him and the fuel of desire feeding us.

I lean forward, pressing my lips to his, swallowing his moan as my tongue drags over his bottom lip.

The movement is slow and deliberate. It’s sensual and meaningful.

The same passion that feeds that sexual energy moves between us, but in slow motion, taking its time like this moment is ours and what’s happening could actually be something. Something real.

Taking one hand off the window, I place it under his jaw, steadying him because I have this possessive need to keep him locked here. I want to consume him, trap him in my space for as long as I fucking can.

When I lean into him, the weight of my hand puts more pressure on the soft flesh of his neck, yet he lifts his chin inviting me in even more. I groan, loving how open he is in every way tonight, giving me everything I need.

Breathlessly, I pull away, because if I don’t stop now I don’t know that I’ll be able to stop myself from pushing for more and tonight has been perfect. A smile forms over my lips and I press my forehead to his.

There’s so much I want to do to this man. He makes me wildly ambitious, but it’s late and we have an early start tomorrow. I just don’t want this to end so I say the first thing I can think of to keep it going.

“I think I should stay the night.”

He raises a questioning brow.

“I swear, no funny business.” I put my hands up in surrender. “It’s purely out of convenience and common sense.”

“Oh, how’s that?”

“We have to report to the set in the AM. If someone sees me leave your room with you, it’ll just be like I came by to grab you on my way out, as opposed to risking me slinking out of here and tip-toeing down the hall in the middle of the night. Plus, my clothes are still soaked.”

“Leaving my room in the morning looks like you stayed the night.” He says, raising a judgmental eyebrow at me.

“Mmmmm, that’s subjective,” I squeak out.

“I mean, it’s not a bad excuse, I guess.” He responds with a shyness I’m not used to seeing from him.

“Ah, brilliant. Settled then.” I keep my cool, surprising myself with the ease of my response even though I’m so fucking excited because I’ve been dying to share a bed with Jace again.

“It’s a good thing the couch is bigger than the one in the cabin,” Jace says smugly with a jolly little sarcastic tone behind his words.

I deadpan. Oh, he thinks he’s funny now.

“That’s it.” I speed walk toward the room. “I’m taking your side of the bed.”

“Don’t you dare.” He races forward, pushing me out of the way.

I had no plan to race him. I just wanted to see him panic. So, I slow down and take my time walking toward the bedroom.

Rounding the corner, he’s standing next to the right side of the bed, claiming it. He pulls off his T-shirt and sweatpants, climbing in quickly.

I undress myself and climb in next to him, yawning, which is contagious because he does the same as he stretches his arms over his head then pulls the covers over his body.

I shift, pressing into my elbow to prop myself up and give the luxury pillow a fluff before laying down on it.

“I apologize in advance for my actions tomorrow morning,” I tell him. “My mouth tends to wander.”
