23. Ride #3
“Drop by my mansion tomorrow,” he insinuated quietly, his nose touching mine. “If you want this to pick up where it left off.”
I kissed him once more, savoring the feeling and giving him an answer. Silas let out a little sound of frustration, his thumb gently tracing my bottom lip. He didn’t move.
“Go,” I told him. “It’s fine.”
With a brisk nod, he stood up straight for one last readjustment of his clothes. Much like he had done whenever I brought him into my home, Silas flipped a switch, falling back into his professional persona like an award winning Oscar nominee.
“Oh, Mr. Hansen, I almost forgot,” he exclaimed loudly, enough for his driver to hear.
“Y-Yeah?” I watched, a bit startled.
“You might want to get home soon,” he confirmed with a smirk. “Because your brother called for you while we were in the heat of our discussion.”
I gaped at him. There is no fucking way.
Silas winked and shut the door, leaving me to sit alone in stunned silence.
SILAS
“Don’t you dare hang up. You know who this is.”
I did, in fact, recognize the voice of Damian Hansen on the line. If there was a God, then he handed me today on a silver platter. I couldn’t even begin to describe how rich this was.
I wonder if Damian knew I had his brother writhing in my grasp, mouth open so pretty and wide because he couldn’t even believe that I answered this call.
If only Noah knew who was on the other end.
“No, I can talk.”
“I would not be calling you if I didn’t think you were involved. Noah is not at the house.”
“Really? Interesting.”
“Tell me where he is. And if you don’t know, then help me find him.”
I couldn’t fucking stand Noah’s brother.
Always so holier than thou. Always thinking I somehow reported to him.
I pressed a kiss to Noah’s chest, encouraging him.
He was such a good fucking boy. He sort of fell into my lap, literally, and there was no way I’d pass up the chance to repeat our first time together.
“Hmm. I really can’t be of much service; my hands are so full right now.”
It wasn’t a lie. My fingertips tingled with the urgency of this interaction with Noah. I wanted him to see stars when I was done with him.
“If you’re not telling me something, and Noah gets harmed, it’s on your head. I know you’re young and foolish, but do you really want Noah to be hurt?”
Never.
“No. You’re right. That would be devastating to me.”
Noah moaned into my fucking shoulder and I was barely making adequate conversation at this point. Half of me wanted to leave the line on so Damian could hear his brother calling out my name in a few short minutes.
“Good then you won’t mind me saying that I’ll fucking skin you alive if he’s with you right now.”
I wish he’d try. That’s the next thing God could grant me: A reason to knock Damian Hansen on his ass and teach him a little humility. He just kept talking though.
“You’re the last thing he needs.”
That one stung a little. But that was okay. Noah did need me right now. Damian just wasn’t aware of how badly.
“That’s just terrible.”
“It’s a promise.”
Noah wouldn’t last much longer. He was practically bucking into my hand. Time to take care of my poor Raven. He’d done such a good job.
“Funny. I’ve now heard from you both on the same day, it’s such a pleasant surprise.”
“You son of a bitch,” Damian cursed into the line. Knowing that he understood my comment brought joy to my black heart.
“Same to you.”
I cast the headset to the side and brought my attention back to the only thing that mattered.
NOAH
“HEY, Noah!” A shriek came through the other end of my cell.
“Who is this?”
“Chelsea. From class. Remember?” Obnoxious giggling ensued and I remembered then exactly who it was.
“Umm, sure. What’s up?”
“Noah, are you sick? I haven’t seen you at school!”
“Sort of.”
“Okay, grab some tissues and soup and get your ass down to the theater on the corner of West Street in five minutes. We’re going to see a movies,” she squealed.
“I–”
“NO exceptions.”
“How did you get this number?” I questioned, afraid of the answer.
She giggled. “Ohohoho, but that is not for me to reveal. Ha!”
I didn’t really know what to say to that. It wasn’t the first time I had dealt with crazy. I glanced out the window of Silas’s Royce and realized I was nearly home. I didn’t want to be there. At all.
I could only imagine the mood Damian would be in after what Silas had done. West Street was about ten minutes past my estate, but Silas did say I could have the driver take me anywhere I wanted, so…
“Well, I guess I’ll–”
“GREAAAAAT!” She screamed. I could picture her jumping up and down with glee. “You don’t mind if my friend tags along, do you? She won’t get in the way or anything, don’t worry... Of course you don’t mind, right?”
I squinted my eyes together, trying desperately to rid myself of the incoming migraine. Just the sound of her voice was like nails on a chalkboard. “Why not?”
“You’re so hot. I can’t wait to get my hands on you. SEE YOU THERE! Haha!”
She hung up the phone and I didn’t have any time to process the gravity of the decision I had just made.
