Chapter 8 #3
He walks through the shimmering field, and so at least I know it won’t vaporize me if for some reason I have to leave.
“Wait,” I say.
“What’s wrong?”
“Can I, like, sit as I wish?”
“My apologies. At ease.”
Then there’s a light twinkle in his eye. I snapped him out of whatever mode he was in, even if it’s just momentarily.
“Enjoy the show.”
I lean against the low wall, wanting to balance on top of it but knowing better, as the blinding white of the Reaver flashes above me.
Blue-black energy streams from the back, Orb-powered, a trail that is soundless.
I don’t know if he is showing off, but Mero spins the Reaver, twisting it so the trail makes beautiful circles that exit for a perfect moment then disappear.
Then he accelerates, the dark blue burn flaring behind him, and I see the two other Reavers approach from either side.
They’re brilliant white against the last strip of sunset. Behind me, clouds are gathering, heavy and dark, and their shadow reaches across the estate as the sun slips away.
Their Reaver and the one to its right stop so suddenly I flinch. The left Reaver blasts forward, the blue-black energy trail spiking, almost exploding outwards as it gains speed.
The bait Reaver.
It jolts right, evading something I can’t see, a movement so quick I jerk my head to follow it. The two ships behind turn together, lining up on the space it’s just left.
I blink at the searing light that fires from their Orb-beam batteries. The beams lance out, both precise, meeting in the exact same spot. Whatever they’re imagining chasing the first ship would have flown straight into them.
The first raindrops reach the shield without a sound. I watch them disappear against it, and I get this strange vision of water droplets hanging in nothingness, transported into that place between worlds.
Then the Reavers change places, and it’s Mero piloting forward.
He pulls up, then dives straight down, and I gasp as he gets within, I swear, an inch of the ground.
He rolls and banks up at the last moment, while the two Reavers behind fire into the space above the grass.
The beams cut off before they can scorch the earth.
The third Reaver takes its turn.
Again and again they run the same drill.
The rain thickens until it’s torrential, splashing down in a haze around the bubble, and I want to reach my hand out and touch it.
I don’t think about why I want to so badly, but I keep still, not wanting to lose any privileges, not when they’ve let me come out here.
Instead, I open the ration bar and take a bite.
It’s chewy, enough that I open the water bottle and take a drink, and I try to focus on the Reavers as they change the drill. This time, two fly ahead together. They split at the last instant, swinging around to fire at once, aiming directly into the gap between them.
I focus on those blue-black beams that sear themselves into my eyelids, the echo of them, because otherwise…
I look at the pyramid. At the black liquid around the Orb.
The same liquid as below.
I watch it for another moment, then look away, unsettled.
The box.
I shiver. It’s warm, but I wrap the fur around me.
I need to… I can’t tell them I’ve seen it.
I can’t. But I need to tell them that if somehow, if somehow I wanted to do it, that, I don’t know.
My thoughts feel all jumbled. I need to ask them not to let me put myself in there for any… any serious length of time.
I think of it; floating, no sensation, nothing, no sight, no sound, and then that huge, hot thing forcing its way in.
Would they ram themselves into me, ruin me, brutally thrust as the mating rage burns, or would they tease me, pressing the heads of their cocks against my slit while I could do nothing but wait, unable to move, unable to do anything but feel that teasing, heavy, hot weight of them against my needy slit, while the arousal built and built, until I was so pathetically horny I would ache to beg and my mouth would open and that black liquid would fill my lungs…
I snap myself out of it as the Reavers enter a new formation, almost like the way that the triad walks. This time, there’s no bait one going ahead. They dart together, fire and spin off, with Mero’s Reaver rushing forward.
I don’t know how I know it is theirs. They all look alike, and I should have lost track, but somehow, I know it is them.
Maybe it’s the way it moves, the same last-second turns that had me grabbing his arm.
I follow it as they practice an all-out assault, driving themselves forward and firing with everything they have.
I settle back and eat, chewing on the salted caramel bar, and let my mind simply go blank as I enjoy the spectacle. Now and then, a few stars show through a break in the clouds before the dark closes over them again.
Hours pass, but I don’t get bored. It’s fascinating.
I think of the attack ships like hawks hunting together, and then their Reaver breaks off and returns, hovering beside the wall.
The door opens, and Arrek is there this time.
There’s a bead of sweat on his forehead, though I know he was only sitting.
The concentration must have been intense.
He holds out his hand, but I shake my head.
“Talarin said I can’t leave the bubble.”
He hops out and speaks commands to the shield generator. The rain suddenly comes down all around me, splashing against me, and I draw my coat closer as he carries the generator inside and motions for me to follow. I get up, gathering the fur and the water bottle, and follow him into the cockpit.
He sets the shield generator down. I put the blanket and bottle beside the targeting chair, and he grabs my hand, pulling me into it with him.
Mero had wrapped his arm around me when he flew me the first time…
But Arrek puts his hand between my legs, pressing against my pussy and pulling me against his thickening rod as the Reaver lifts off again.
A surprised whimper leaves my lips, and I freeze against him, but he simply keeps his hand there, firm and possessive, as we fly back and land in the circle.
As the other two get up to leave, he gives one last squeeze, then removes his arm.
I get up, a little dizzy and breathless, gathering the blanket and bottle again.
While he lifts the shield generator, I use my chance to rush after the other two into the estate. The fire is burning warm, and I set the blanket and bottle beside it. There’s a determined confidence to the two men as they move down the hallway towards the study.
“He’s got very quick reflexes. Pilots bravely,” says Mero.
One of the other pilots, I think, but they enter the study together and close the door before I hear any more.
Arrek comes in carrying the shield generator. He watches me for a moment, then leaves to put it away, and I’m standing alone in the great hall of the estate, my pulse up.
But when he returns, he doesn’t go straight to the study.
He walks to me, standing over me, this towering wall of marble flesh. Then he grabs my chin and forces my gaze upwards, meeting his hard gaze.
I can’t speak. I tremble, the size difference intoxicating.
“You’re the most beautiful creature I’ve ever seen,” he says, the growl under his voice, and my lip trembles when he kisses me again, hard, fast, urgent, his tongue claiming my mouth.
His hand shoots down my back, then under my dress and against my naked skin, groping my ass, squeezing it, and he pulls me against his huge bulk.
I can feel his cock throbbing, hard and heavy against me, and I feel so small, so protected, so owned, yet his power scares me, and that rush of fear fills me.
He breaks off the kiss, staring into my eyes.
“I love that little tendril of fear mixed with your lust, my little pet. And I’m going to taste it again when I break you.”
