Activating #7
Dad linked, “Bolt said Channing wants to kill these HUMAN police officers.” Channing snorted, “I will find a reason to kill them, Keaton. Maybe not today, tomorrow, or even next year, but they WILL die.” I replied to dad, “They are assholes.” Dad shot me a look.
I glared at the officers who shrank back. Emmett put a hand on my shoulder. Matt came in, “Might I suggest getting out of this room, officers? Keaton is not answering questions.” They could run, but they weren’t going to hide from me. Channing cheered, “That’s what I’m talking about.”
Emmett said, “Your wolf nearly wolfed out in this establishment?” I shrugged, “And? I know a bunch of Fairies that would’ve found that deeply amusing as they erased memories.” Channing agreed, “They think I’m a bit hair trigger right now, but I think the fact no one IS DEAD means they are wrong.”
The paperwork took forever to process. Once they were done, I announced, “I’m going to see Katie.
” Channing agreed, “Yes, get OUT of here.” Dad cautiously told me, “Your grandpa is processing getting Katie out of jail while Isaac is getting the charges dropped. Just come home and tell us what happened.”
Channing took over, “No.” Dad snorted, “Channing, your girlfriend will be expecting you to be hurt, and in the hospital. Your grandpa said she’s really worried about you and it’s deeply endearing.” Channing huffed at my dad who smirked.
I linked grandpa, “Is Katie ok?” Grandpa said, “She’s fine. Your lovely girlfriend is currently lecturing the cops on how they need to take the rabies wolves more seriously, because it’s their fault they were around your accident.”
Channing grumbled, “Everyone needs to stop saying girlfriend in that tone because I am DANGEROUSLY close to LOSING MY SHIT! ODETTE IS OURS!” I agreed, “I know that, Channing.” Channing said, “They want to talk about how hair trigger I am YET THEY TRIGGER ME!” Fair point.
I asked Grandpa, “Did they hurt her?” Grandpa answered, “That is a story.” Channing began to growl. Emmett asked, “What happened?” I asked, “Did Katie get hurt? Did someone hit her car too?!” Emmett said, “No, but her car hit a lot of things.”
I snarled, “Is she hurt? Because Grandpa didn’t directly answer!
” They exchanged looks. I snarled, “SHE IS?!” Channing replied, “I’m back to my killing those two cops at the hospital plan.
” I asked, “Did you get off it? We were plotting long term.” Channing retorted, “I’m back on the SHORT TERM PLAN THEN! ”
I left with dad and got in his SUV. No sooner had we got inside then a pop sounded next to me.
I smirked at Aunt Haley asking, “Uncle Eric didn’t come?
” Haley greeted, “Hi Keaton, it’s nice to see you.
No, Eric did not come. I popped away from him once Lexi gave me the all clear.
He’ll probably be all Alpha male about it. ”
I asked, “Then why are you smiling?” Aunt Haley winked and began to heal me. When she was done Aunt Haley waited until we got back to the house before popping back to the Summit. Mom was snickering while dad sighed.
I offered, “You could’ve told Aunt Haley to pop back sooner, old man.
” Dad laughed, “Son, I’ve known Haley long enough to know that she’s not going to do a damn thing that’s not fun.
She finds winding up Eric to be fun. Before she came around, no one would dream of working the man up like she does.
” Mom said, “Haley’s literally the only person who does it. ” Dad shrugged.
We walked inside. I linked my grandpa, “How is Katie?” Grandpa snorted, “Asking how you are. I told her I was certain you’d be by to see her. She’s now panicking because you should stay at the hospital.”
I insisted, “Tell her I’m fine.” Grandpa snorted, “Katie here is talking about how unconscious people are not fine. She wants to storm the hospital and give the doctors a piece of her mind.” I couldn’t help but smile because that was very much like her.
Emmett asked, “What happened? Keith told us he had to hold the pack back once they got there because Katie was dragging you to her car. Somehow, she knocked out fifteen rogues. I find that impressive, if not impossible. I guess she used your golf clubs.” There seemed to be more than that.
Channing said, “That is the first amusing thing detail of this event since we regained consciousness.” Emmett said, “Oh, and we found three dead rogues further away.” Keith coughed, “I did.” I snarled, “That Jag rogue is still following Katie!”
Channing growled, “Everyone wants me to kill them.” Then I shifted.
Dad sighed, “Channing, shift back.” Channing huffed at him.
Bolt took over, “Pup, shift back.” Channing bristled, “That tone again.” Mom snickered, “Channing, can you shift back please?” Channing huffed, “Fine but only because mom’s tone is better. ”
I shifted back and Ketih wordlessly handed me shorts. Emmett said, “So, that happened. I don’t think jag is a rogue at this point, but yes, he does seem to be following her.” I snarled. Dad rubbed his temples. Emmett asked, “What happened?”
Channing warned, “My patience is SO thin right now, Keaton.” I sighed, “Someone hit my truck, that’s all I remember. I was out so fast that I didn’t see the fight. I didn’t even have time to reach out to Keith. I let you down, I’m sorry.”
Emmett snorted, “Getting in a hit a run isn’t your fault, nor did you let me down. I’m not upset with you, little brother. Colton and I have been impressed with the reports that you’ve been sending. This was an accident, Keaton.”
My big brother looked pretty pissed off when he added, “And Malachi will find whoever hit you. They will find out what it means to cross the Daniels family. They will get the book thrown at them.” I smiled, “Thanks.”
Isaac walked in and smirked at me, “That’s some girl you’ve got, Keaton.
She’s quite worried about you.” I asked, “Did you get the charges dropped?” Isaac snorted, “I’m a lawyer.
Of course, I did. We paid the fine I got the charges dropped down to.
Katie was muttering about telling her brother about this, and they’d probably be sorry. ” I barely managed not to laugh.
Keith said, “I thought Katie didn’t know where her half-brother was.” I explained, “She’s connected with some other members of her mom’s family. If the cops had let Katie have her phone, we’d know what she is. I guarantee they would’ve come for her.”
Odette also thought they were in the mob. So, she definitely thought those cops would get killed for arresting her. Channing chimed in, “They will because one day, I WILL KILL THEM!” I agreed, “We can go our stealthy way about it and bring the techy Luna as backup.” Channing snickered.
I told the larger group, “Katie probably does think her brother would be pissed they arrested her.” Grandpa came in and laughed, “Oh no, my dear grandson. Katie’s not mad they arrested her. She’s upset they tried to arrest her before she got you into the hospital.”
Grandpa paused then added, “That they didn’t help her get you inside, and she’s furious they wouldn’t tell her how you were doing.
Or that they kept telling her she needed to call her mom but then didn’t believe Katie when she explained that she didn’t have the number.
Your girl insisted she needed her phone to call her brother. ”
“Katie told them that she’d give them her lawyer’s name if they told her how you were. They refused, so they were in a standoff. I think they are a bunch of assholes. Katie was crying and begging for them to tell her if you were ok.”
“The poor thing thought her brother would be upset that she was worried about you. I’m certain her brother will be mad they arrested her more so than the details about you. She said interesting things about her brother.” Yeah, I knew that.
I was also positive they would be more upset about her arrest than me getting treated slowly.
I was a Werewolf. I snarled, “I’m going to her.
” Mom handed me a sling, “You’ll have to wear this.
” I argued, “I’m fine.” Dad reasoned, “Katie thinks she’s human, and your grandpa said she knew your shoulder was out of the socket. ” I threw the sling on begrudgingly.
Keith jumped in front of me and gave me a hug. My twin linked, “You took ten years off my life, man.” I hugged him back. I said, “I’ll try to be back tonight. I assume everyone’s going back to the Summit.” Emmett demanded, “Give me a hug.”
Emma chimed in, “Me too.” I asked, “Emma, when did you get here?” My big sister snorted, “You have such tunnel vision about your girlfriend, I’ve been here the whole time.” Channing grumbled, “I’m only giving Sheba a pass because she’s our sister and I’m a sap.” Sheba was Emma’s wolf.
I gave my sister a hug, “Thanks for coming.” Emma snorted, “We got word you’d been in an accident and were missing.
Keith was trying to get a hold of Katie.
Our brother sent people to her apartment and checked out several hospitals.
I’m guessing no one has given your girlfriend a tour of the town.
Katie went to the biggest hospital around. ”
Which was the furthest away from our pack. I was really out of it not to notice the name on the hospital when we left. I did have tunnel visioned about getting to Odette. Channing said, “Yet we are still not with mate!”
I snorted asking the group, “How many things did Katie hit?” Grandpa laughed, “So many. Give her more lessons, Keaton.” Emmett teased, “He’s been focused on other things, like getting some.” I growled playfully at him and hugged everyone.
My family seemed rattled. May even launched herself at me. I heard Lisa yell my name before grandpa literally threw himself in her path. Channing said, “He should let her come so I could RIP HER TO PIECES!” Grandpa linked, “Go.” I didn’t need to be told twice. I needed to see my Song.
