The Alpha I Invented
Prologue Kit
Past
“Ry?” My grogginess began to stir when I felt the breeze through my window.
He made an odd request to stay at my place last night, but I didn’t to ask why when I saw something heartbreakingly broken below his stare.
If he needed to stay in my room for the two of us to have some time, I’d never deny him that.
Never, not when my future Alpha asked me to soothe him.
It wasn’t like I had roommates, and my mom was never home this time of night, selling her body for more drugs.
Though, the more I pulled myself out of my subconscious state, I became acutely aware about the lack of warmth from where he fell asleep.
My hand reached to find him, wondering if he rolled away from my nest of weathered blankets.
When I found nothing but cool fabric, I sat myself up to take in my empty room.
The moonlight spilled in through the window, revealing no one lied next to me.
I sat alone in my room, but that didn’t make sense.
He asked to stay here, and he had fallen asleep with me.
For an hour before our slumber, we made love.
He promised he loved me more than anything in the world, and he’d claim me when they returned from their private school.
Calling it a school was nearly comical because it wouldn’t be the colleges our old classmates attended.
All the boys in Ryatt’s pack were born into wealthy families, but those families’ pockets were lined in the corruption of our city.
They’d be going as a pack with other packs to an undisclosed location for proper training before taking over the family seat of the inner circle.
An unclaimed Omega couldn’t go, and they wouldn’t mark me to change it.
Ryatt and Kayos’s father didn’t like me.
An issue he made known when I’d been around their home, but I knew this had been the reason he hesitated to accept me as his Omega.
Last night, he kept kissing my face with a gentleness that spoke of his devotion to me.
He never told me what day they were leaving on, and I pieced together why he came alone to my trailer last night.
Hyperventilating, I let my hand clutch my heart. What if he had been doing that to say goodbye? Jumping to my feet, I made my way to the craggy door. Stumbling down the tiny hallway with wood paneled walls, I heard the TV on low with some dishes clinking in the kitchen.
Seeing a large form rifling through the upper cabinet, I breathed out a sigh of relief. “I thought you left without saying goodbye.”
The man paused, lowing his face to take me in.
That was when I understood it wasn’t Ryatt in my home.
The man stood in tactical gear that my mind glanced over because I thought I was safe with my men.
A looming form stepped out around the living room corner from where I still stood in the hall, looking across the tiny living room to peer at the man in the kitchen.
This other guy stood before me. I never liked him, but I didn’t question his presence from him working for Ryatt’s father.
His smile creeped me out when he took me in, and my gut sank from witnessing the way he studied me.
“He did leave, and he isn’t coming back.
Thanks to me, he thinks you’ll be safe under my watch.
And if you think your mom might save you?
I’ve already sent her on her way with enough money to leave Knotty City. ”
“N-no.” I shook my head, refusing to believe my reality.
“It’s okay, Pussy Cat.” He stepped forward to tuck some hair behind my ear. I couldn’t remember his name as the fear of his touch licked my spine. “I have the perfect plan set up for them to never know, and they’ll never think it was me.”
“N-never know what?” I tried to keep myself from crying, standing stiffer than a board.
That was when my world changed forever. Tackling me to the floor, the man in the kitchen came over to help hogtie me.
Every time I attempted to scream, he forced my jaw shut or smacked me.
I gave it my all to escape, but I wasn’t a threat against two fully grown men.
They learned I wouldn’t go silently, screaming with every hit to my face.
Once they had my limbs strapped in rope, he leaned over my body, pressing hard against the junction of my thighs.
“You’ll soon learn your place, Pussy Cat. All Omegas do…”
Stabbing me with a needle in the neck, I felt my legs and arms go limp first. A sedative that promised I’d be his favorite puppet.
Using the ropes that bound my hands to my legs, he let his henchman drag me back to my little room.
The edges of my vision blurred, but I’d never forget seeing the face of the man who took me, waving from the end of the hall, promising to be my end.
