31 Jericho

Everything started to have a purpose, but the woman we apprehended wouldn’t talk. She didn’t care what happened to her just if Kit suffered too. I hated her even more because of it.

I tried to collect myself to leave the bathroom and continue being the glue that held everyone else together, but it was hard.

With not knowing what Kit suffered, I couldn’t rest. My heart refused to slow down, and I slowly comprehended that I had gained feelings for the Omega.

Even if I hadn’t, her misery would’ve made me feel guilty, but by having it, I wanted to rip the throat out of anyone who harmed her.

A ping came through my phone, notifying me of a city alert. People in the city had the app for their own safety, mainly used for when an active shooting took place. Everyone would see whatever the risk was on the screen to warn them to stay out of that area until it finished.

This time, we didn’t see anything but darkness.

A few shaky breaths could be heard as though someone wheezed in pain.

Like a heavy stone inside of me, it sunk to the bottom of my gut, rolling in turmoil because I immediately knew.

Maybe it was from hearing her breathlessness with Turner, but I picked up on Kit’s undertones.

Running out of the bathroom, I found the others already staring at their devices.

Just as we all looked to each other, a light was shed on the screen for us to finally see Kit, completely naked and bruised everywhere.

Her eyes were hooded as though she fought through the drugs, and Saul hadn’t untied the tourniquet from her arm to enhance our imaginations.

“Look at my pretty little puppet.” His hand reached forward for us to see it but not him. Petting the side of her face, she flinched under his touch. “My favorite new toy thinks she’s not important enough to be saved, but we know otherwise, don’t we Ryatt?”

Saul tried calling out our pack, but Kit growled and bit his finger for us to see her defiance during the worst of it.

Even with her glossy stare, she wouldn’t give up.

The bastard shrieked and slapped her because there was no undoing the live feed with her resisting his power.

As he hissed and shook the phone a little while righting himself, Kit let her eyes try to stare at the camera.

“Protect my people. My life is not worth all of theirs, and you know that. If you love me, you won’t give up those who cannot protect themselves. ”

Saul slapped her hard again. “We’ll see how much of this they can handle viewing.”

Snapping his fingers, a masked man came up behind her, ripping her by the hair to force her mouth back for him to dominate. The lighting wasn’t good enough to show all her wounds, but I could make out some type of injury on her neck.

A knife was brought around her front, barely slicing through the shallow skin between her breasts. Kit bit back her cries, but her eyes revealed too much. The whole city would be seeing this, including all the Alphas inside the compound.

Anika stormed into our room just then, showing us her own phone in tears. Her best friend was being tortured, and she had to make the hard call to not save her with Saul’s demands. Saul’s face finally appeared on the screen to show us his ruthlessness as the other man began fucking Kit.

“Ryatt, why don’t you finally be the knight she thought you were going to be the last time I had her?

Maybe you’ll be smarter, hmm? Bring me the keys to her kingdom before the weekend, or I’ll begin taking limbs for everyone to watch.

Maybe I’ll even cut this delicious vagina out of her and fuck it for you to watch. ”

The clip ended on that, letting us in to see the brutality he was using against her for the first time. My stomach soured completely. Dropping my phone, I ran back into the bathroom and puked everything out. It ended up being mostly acid because I hadn’t eaten much since losing Kit.

I took a moment to pause once I wretched everything up, knowing the others were listening with concern. Kit needed me to be stronger, so I had to cry over this later. Wiping my mouth, I flushed the toilet and met the rest of them back in the room. “So what do we do?”

“Kit will kill us all if we gave him access to the people here,” Anika never lifted her gaze from the floor.

“We need to pick up our torturing on Mandy,” Turner interjected. She had been able to fight whatever Anika’s men had done so far and refused to cooperate. Looking to Anika, he stood from the couch he had been sitting on. “Mind if I take over?”

“You can join me,” she assured him. “She’s unconscious now, so we’ll need to wait just a bit.”

“Need us to do anything else?” Ryatt asked her from his position in the kitchen, leaning on the bar.

“We’re going to have to calm down the Alphas in here. They’ll need reassurance we’re not outing them. Can you help me spread the word? Maybe tell them our Alpha is hunting down Saul now to find his Omega?”

“They’ll want to meet this Alpha if we do that,” Kayos added.

“Then let them believe they will. If it gives us time to save Kit without a mutiny in this place, we have to.”

“So, it’s agreed.” I cleared my throat. “We up the torture on Mandy to get her to talk before the weekend, and we get the Alphas to believe their packs are safe while we fake her Alpha being back.”

“Correct,” Anika whispered still looking utterly defeated. Something ate at her even though we had a plan.

“What’s wrong?” I asked her.

“If I’m being honest with you, then you need to know one thing. If we’re able to save Kit from Saul, that’ll be the easy part.”

“What do you mean?” Ryatt stepped closer.

“What did your dad deal when Saul worked for him all those years ago?” Anika’s tongue was sharp.

“The drugs,” Kashmir answered. Letting his mournful eyes look up to meet hers, the realization hit us then. “She became an addict.”

Anika could barely nod, heading to leave our room. “You better be ready to see a version of her that’ll rip your heart out more than that video.”

Leaving us with that, we let the news sink in.

Kit had been drugged up and got addicted the last time this madman had her.

Now we had to cope with the knowledge she might slide down that slippery slope again.

Swallowing over the lump in my throat, I knew I had to keep being the glue.

“She has you… She didn’t have that last time. It might make all the difference.”

“It might make her want drugs even more.” Franco punched the wall near the bathroom. Storming out of the suite, we were all hurting deeper than I knew how to heal.
