CHAPTER 19

THE CROWN OF TWO BLOODLINES

Months passed.

The Wolf Kingdom changed.

The council became smaller.

The packs gained representation.

The royal archives were reopened.

The history of the lost heirs was finally written truthfully.

Elyan trained for leadership.

Elena learned to control the Moon Voice.

And Aldric learned how to be a father again.

One evening, the family gathered in the old nursery.

Lyra stood beside the empty cradle.

"I never stopped believing you would both return."

Elyan smiled.

"You should have told us."

"I tried."

Elena laughed softly.

For years, the nursery had represented loss.

Now it represented survival.

Aldric entered carrying the silver pendant.

He gave it to Elena.

"You should have this."

She shook her head.

"It belonged to Elyan."

"It belonged to your family."

She accepted it.

The pendant warmed in her hand.

The silver wolf appeared outside the window.

This time, Elena understood.

It wasn't guarding the kingdom.

It was guarding the bloodline.

Aldric looked at his children.

"I once believed losing you was the greatest tragedy of my life."

He paused.

"Now I know finding you gave my life a second beginning."

Elyan embraced him.

Elena smiled.

Outside, the moon rose above Moonstone.

The kingdom had survived betrayal.

It had survived war.

But more importantly, it had survived the lies that had kept its people divided.

The prophecy had not predicted destruction.

It had predicted transformation.

The crown would continue.

But the kingdom would never again belong to one person alone.
