Chapter 3
THE CRYSTAL MOONBLADE
Lucian took Aria to the ancient royal library.
Thousands of magical books floated through the air.
An enormous painting covered one wall.
It showed two rulers standing beneath a celestial moon.
Lucian pointed toward them.
“My ancestors.”
Aria looked closer.
“The woman looks like me.”
“She was the first Celestial Alpha Queen.”
Aria stared at him.
“And the man?”
“The first Alpha King of Moonshadow.”
She looked at Lucian.
“So our families were allies.”
“Once.”
“What happened?”
“The Starfall War.”
Before Lucian could explain, the library door opened.
Queen Isolde entered.
Her expression was cold.
“You should not have shown her this.”
Lucian frowned.
“She deserves the truth.”
Isolde looked at Aria.
“You are dangerous.”
Aria smiled.
“So I've been told.”
Suddenly, a crystal sword appeared from the wall.
It flew directly toward Aria.
She caught it.
The blade transformed into silver and blue fire.
The entire library shook.
Isolde stepped back.
“The Moonblade…”
Lucian stared.
“That weapon hasn't appeared for a thousand years.”
Aria looked at the sword.
“What does it mean?”
Isolde whispered:
“It means the prophecy has chosen you.”
