Chapter 20
My new favorite thing to do was wake up Sean's arms. It was the best feeling in the world.
I had meant to sleep in my bed alone last night, I really did, but sleep wouldn't come until I was in bed with Sean. I got tired of tossing and turning all night so I went to go sleep by him.
He didn't seem to mind. Actually, I think he really likes it when we sleep together.
I know he wants to do more than just sleep but I can't do that with him right now and I'm he's so patient with me.
"Good morning, beautiful." Sean said and he kissed my cheek.
"Good morning." I replied with a big smile and a slight blush.
"You're so cute when you blush. Did you sleep good last night?" He asked me.
"I slept great last night." I told him.
"I'm glad to hear that."
"I'm sorry that I've been ignoring you." I blurt out before I can stop myself.
"It's ok now, but why did you ignore me?" He asked.
"My mom told me that I had to break up with you. I couldn't do that so I thought it'd be best to just stay away from you for a while. Or at least until my mom left to go back for work." I explained.
"Ok. I get it."
"You do?"
"Yup. We're all good now though, right?" He asked.
"Yeah, I guess."
"You guess?"
"I don't know. I'm done ignoring you, but I still don't know what to do about my mother." I said.
"We can figure it out together. I'm just happy you won't be avoiding me anymore." He said.
"Good."
"All that matters now is that we're still together."
Aw. I love it when he says stuff like that. He's so cute and sweet.
I am really falling for this boy. I can't help it.
"Why were you out in the woods last night?" He asked.
"It's kind of a long story." I said.
"We've got time." He said calmly.
"Well yesterday was my brother's funeral." I start out.
"So that's why you were all dressed up."
"Yeah, but before we could actually make it to the funeral my mom and I got into a fight and I ran out." I told him.
"Was it because she saw your arms?" He asked me quietly.
"Yeah. She's still in a bit of denial."
The tears began to trickle out of my eyes and Sean gently rubbed at my back.
"It's ok, baby. Where were you planning to go?"
"Well I was going to the park and once I got there I would've called you, but then I decided to take a shortcut through the woods and I thought someone was following me." I explained.
"I didn't see anyone, but promise me you won't go into the woods alone again. It can be dangerous in there. We're lucky that I was able to find you." He said.
I notice how he says we're instead of you're. Does that mean he thinks he's lucky to have me?
I don't know. I feel like he'd be better off without me. Sean wouldn't have to deal with all these problems if he had never met me.
I let the negative thoughts go after that because there was no point in thinking stuff like that.
"Do you mind taking me back to my house today?" I asked him changing the subject.
He sat up looking worried and panicked.
"You don't want to stay here with me anymore?" He looked almost heartbroken as he asked me this.
"I'm sorry. No, I didn't mean that. I just meant will you take me there so I can grab some of my clothes?" I rephrased my previous question.
"We don't have to go back. We can buy you new clothes. It's no big deal really."
"No. I don't want new clothes. I want to wear my clothes."
I didn't want Sean to spend his money on me. Especially for clothes that I don't even truly need.
"Ok, but you don't have to go. I can get them for you while you stay here." He said.
"Why? So you can snoop through my panty drawers?" I accused.
His face turns all red. Aw he's so cute when he blushes.
"That's not it at-" He tries to deny.
I burst out laughing.
"It's ok I was just teasing you. But seriously, why don't you want me going back to my house?"
"I just think it might not be best for you to go there. You said your mom and you were fighting last night. I don't want you to run into her again."
"I can handle my mom, Sean. It'll be fine."
"Alright."
"Then let's go!" I shout jumping out of the bed.
"We have to go now?" He asks.
"Well duh. It took a lot of work to convince you, that means we have to go before you can change your mind."
He chuckles at my weird logic, though it makes perfect sense.
Without more argument, Sean quickly got dressed and led me out of his uncle's house.
