Chapter 85 #2

“What’s going on?” Jin asked, looking at the bags in Lita’s hands.

Chasen chuckled. “Reiya and Freja got jealous, so they decided to cook up children of their own, too.”

Jin and Chelsie squealed loudly. “Oh my goodness, we’re all having babies? When are we all due?” Jin bounced into Chasen happily.

“That’s what we’re going to find out,” Lita said, holding the bags up. “Come on, everyone. Let’s hook them up to the big screen in the living room. This will be exciting!”

“Lila and I get to be the cool aunt and uncle, since we aren’t expecting yet.” Xander beamed widely as they all trailed behind Lita.

“Oh, I don’t think so. Ruby and I aren’t expecting either,” Mason said. “And we already took Reiya in as our own, so why wouldn’t we do the same with the rest of the family?”

“Well, I plan to fill Ciana up as soon as possible. Nevertheless, we won’t be conceding the title of ‘cool ones.’” Dex watched as Ciana blushed brightly.

“Look, I’ll admit it. Jade is the one in charge in our relationship. So we’ll do whatever she wants, and that includes in the bedroom. But just in case, I do have ropes and handcuffs at our disposal.” Weston chuckled as Jade looked away in embarrassment.

“Hey! That’s my baby sister you’re talking about, Weston. Watch it.” Xander turned and glared at him.

“Wait a minute, though. I have a feeling she’s the one who is going to beat me up in this scenario, so shouldn’t you scold her?” Weston looked at Jade, who shook her head and laughed.

“Just because I’m stronger than you doesn’t mean I won’t let you feel like you’re in charge sometimes.” Jade bumped her shoulder into him playfully, and he pulled her tight into his side.

Weston’s grin couldn’t have been wider. “I don’t think there could ever be someone more perfect for me out there.”

Lita had Hunter, Brody, Chasen, and Levi all sit on the floor with their legs spread out. She then had each of the girls sit between their mates’ legs and lie against them. She divided the large theater screen into four sections and hooked each girl up at the same time.

“Okay, daddies,” Lita said, handing each of the men a little wand while everyone started crowding around to look up at the screen. “You’re going to place the wand over her stomach and gently guide it around. I’ll help you each find the position if you’re having trouble.”

Reiya leaned her head back and looked up at Lee, who was smiling down at her. “Ready to see our princess?”

“I’ve been waiting an eternity for this moment.” He reached forward and kissed her nose before lowering the wand onto the gel on her stomach.

Lita helped direct them as they each moved their wands.

“Okay. Brody and Chasen, hold yours still. You too, Levi.” She walked up to Hunter, helped him find the perfect spot, and returned to the screen.

“Okay, perfect.” She turned and looked at the display so that she could estimate the gestation time.

“Well, Brody and Chasen, you two are due at the same time. Reiya, you aren’t far behind at all.

And Hunter …” Lita grabbed the remote and furrowed her brows.

Asher quickly walked up to his son’s side and knelt beside him.

Lita walked back toward Hunter and Freja. “Let me take this.” She moved the wand around and turned up the sound on his monitor.

The swish-swoosh sound of the ultrasound played over the speakers as Lita turned her head back up to the screen. “And you are also due at the same time Reiya is.” She smiled at Freja and Hunter as Asher placed his hand on Hunter’s shoulder. “Congratulations you two. You’re having twins.”

“When our king does something, he does it right!” Sam chuckled while Adam and Winston high-fived one another.

Hunter glanced up at the screen with watery eyes and back down at Freja.

Their eyes locked onto one another and they both smiled.

He wrapped his arms around her, hugging her into his chest, and Freja leaned into him, curling her legs up.

The smile never left Hunter’s face, nor Freja’s.

They couldn’t believe they could ever feel this happy.

After everything they’d been through, they both ended up finding a life they could have only dreamed about, and a family that was growing around them.

Hunter looked at his parents and everyone gathered there with them. “Guess we better start babyproofing this place.”

Lita cleaned off the tiny infant and handed her over to Chasen.

“Yep, just like that, Chasen. Remember to support her head,” Lita said as he looked up at his mother nervously. “You’re doing just fine.” She watched him scoot in beside Jin.

“Lita, you can tell Harley he can come in,” Jin said sweetly. “I’m sure he’s very anxious to meet her.”

“I can hear him pacing right outside the door.” Lita giggled and opened it. “Come on in, Harley.”

Harley walked in, and his gaze was immediately drawn to the little bundle in Chasen’s arms. He walked up to Chasen and tears began falling from his face. The son of an original demon was crying at the sight of his new mate.

Chasen smiled. “Do you want to hold her?”

“I have time for that. I don’t want to take this moment away from you guys. I’m just happy you let me see her.” Harley wanted to be respectful of the new parents even though he wanted to hold her so badly.

Jin smiled at Chasen, who stood up and moved toward Harley.

“You’re family now. You aren’t taking anything away from this moment.

” Destiny started to fuss quietly but stopped instantly the moment she was placed in Harley’s arms. Her eyes popped open, and she stared back at him.

She was too young to feel the mate bond, but there still seemed to be a connection between them.

Harley smiled down at her, tears streaking down his cheeks. “I’ll give you the world. I promise I’ll always do everything I can just to bring a smile to your face. You’re my Destiny.”

There was a soft knock on the door and Asher and Grayson peeked in.

“You’ve got to be kidding me!” Lita said as she started scrambling around, collecting her things.

“What’s going on?” Chasen asked. His mother and father instantly knew what the other was thinking, but the others in the room were missing the instant conversation.

“Freja is in active labor. She’s already pushing. She was ignoring the pains, thinking they were just Braxton Hicks contractions. Damn her pain tolerance. Okay, I’ll be back to check on you. Love you both,” Lita said hurriedly and sprinted down the hall to the next room.

Lita handed the second baby to Hunter. “Congratulations, Daddy.” She wiped her forehead and looked at Freja and Hunter, each holding a new baby in their arms.

“What are the odds … Chasen and Jin just gave birth to little Destiny, and now you have your two little ones, too.”

“How are they all doing?” Hunter asked as he sat down next to Freja on the bed.

“They’re doing great. And Destiny is perfect, adorable and healthy. They already let Harley in to see her, and he is in love. So, what have you decided to name them?” Lita asked.

“Aedan and Lucie.” Freja smiled. Aedan was destined to take over as the future Werewolf King, while Lucie would have to decide if she wanted to continue with the treaty they had in place. If so, she would be the vampire prince’s bride.

Asher and Grayson rushed in.

“This can’t be happening!” Lita began rushing around again, this time more frantically.

“What is it?” Hunter asked, feeling a bit anxious at his mother’s panic.

“Chelsie is now in active labor,” Asher said, shaking his head in disbelief.

“It’s a good thing we have these pearls. How does this even happen? How are all of you going into labor on the same day? At this rate, I won’t be surprised if Reiya goes into labor, too!” Lita handed some of her bags to Grayson and took a deep breath.

“I guess we’re just weird like that.” Freja laughed softly.

“We’ll be back to check on you and let you know how everyone is doing,” Lita said as they hurried out of the room, leaving Hunter and Freja alone.

“Are you sure you’re alright?” Hunter asked as he kissed Freja’s forehead.

“I’m great, Hunter. I’m happy.”

“Knock knock,” Chasen said as he opened the door. “We wanted to see you guys, if you’re up for it.”

“Sure, come in. Pull up a chair for Jin. Tell Harley he can come in, too,” Hunter said.

Harley grabbed the recliner out of the corner of the room and effortlessly lifted it up, bringing it closer to the bed. Chasen held a tiny bundle in his arms while he escorted Jin to the chair to sit.

“Jin, she’s perfect,” Freja said as Chasen eased Destiny into Jin’s arms.

“I know we’re all siblings, but I think we’re taking this to a freaky level here.” Hunter chuckled, and Chasen laughed as well.

“Who do we have here?” Chasen asked, walking up to Hunter to see the babies in his and Freja’s arms.

“This is Aedan, and this here is Lucie,” Hunter said as he tilted the baby in his arm toward Chasen.

Aedan started to fuss slightly, and Freja gently swayed him until he settled down.

She looked down at the tiny infant in her arms …

a product of her love with Hunter. Aedan and Lucie were something she never thought she would have.

Her life had completely changed, little by little.

Once when she met Reiya, and then completely when she met Hunter.

She looked up at Hunter, and he rested his forehead against hers.

Hunter looked at his brother with a grin that never seemed to leave his face. Their family had made it through the war of all wars. Sure, he knew there would be other battles, but they would make it through. They would face them together alongside their new family and allies.

One thing was certain. With everything they’d been through and what they had done for the Moon Goddess, their family would always receive her blessing.

And no matter what future Lucie chose, they would support her and be there for her.

But that wasn’t something he would worry about today.

Lucie’s journey would be another story entirely.

“You brothers really don’t like doing anything separately, do you?” Lita checked over the new baby before handing her over to Chelsie.

“Thanks for coming, Mom. How’s everyone else doing?” Brody asked as he reached down to hold his baby’s tiny hand.

“Everyone is doing great. So … have you decided on a name?” Lita asked.

“Raine. We’re naming her Raine.” Brody smiled at his mother.

Lita, you won’t believe this … Asher’s voice entered her mind only a moment before she heard the door to the room open.

“How?! How is this possible? This has to be a fun game of Selene’s. It must be. This can’t happen. It doesn’t happen!” Lita and Asher started quickly gathering equipment from around the room.

“Guess Reiya is making sure she doesn’t get left out today.” Asher chuckled, glancing at Brody before leaving with the medical bags. “I’ll take these into Reiya’s room. Then I’ll be back to see my new granddaughter.”

“Okay, Gramps.” Brody beamed as he called his father that for the first time.

“Not to brag, but I am a pretty good-looking grandpa.” Asher laughed and raced after Lita.

Lita walked out of the room, giving the new parents their privacy. Lee cooed to his new daughter and held her tenderly in his arms.

“She’s perfect, Reiya. She’s beautiful, just like you. You did so well. How are you feeling?” Lee asked, snuggling into bed beside her.

“Much better. It’s so nice to not feel drained all the time. And I can finally start showering by myself again.”

Lee laughed lightly. “That won’t be happening. Doesn’t matter if you need my energy or not. I’m not about to let you go in there and wash the fun parts without me.”

“Are you going to tell Xander and Lila they can come up and see her?” Reiya asked, and Lee shook his head.

“No, not yet. I’m going to be selfish just a little bit longer. You know I’m not good at sharing.” Lee grinned and placed a soft kiss on Reiya’s head.

Reiya looked up at Lee and frowned. “What about Ken? You need to tell him to quit being stubborn. I don’t want her to go through what I did.”

Lee pouted. “I hate having to share her, though.” Then he noticed the stern look from Reiya, and he gave a soft laugh. “I’ll talk with him, my fairy. I want her happiness above everything. Even if it means sharing her.”

Lita walked back to Asher and Grayson. Asher scooped her into his arms and she sighed happily.

“Two more granddaughters came into the family. We have four granddaughters and one grandson.”

“How are you feeling?” Grayson asked Lita. They’d been running back and forth like crazy.

Lita giggled. “I’m fine. I’m not the one having the babies. Come on. I told Hunter I’d be back to check on them and let them know about their new nieces.”
