She comes to in a remote Irish asylum with no memory of how she arrived, surrounded by people who already know her as Rua.

That is not her name, yet the only man with answers is Dr. Bron Deargán, the physician she is certain kidnapped her.

He looks at her as if he could unmake her piece by piece, and she hates the part of herself that would allow it, especially when his voice makes her forget the name she arrived with.
