Chapter 11 (Caleb)The Half-Demon Goddess

Chapter 11 (Caleb)

The Half-Demon Goddess

W hen I opened my eyes, the room was freezing, the unnatural cold pulling me out of my dreams and bringing me back to reality. My mouth fogged when I breathed, and the tip of my nose was cold despite being a vampire. I groaned, running my hand through my hair. A feather floated in the air, and I could feel her aura imposing its grandeur on the room.

“Don’t you ever knock before entering a room?” I asked boldly.

Her wings twitched in annoyance. “Don’t tempt me to scold you, boy.”

I thought for a moment of all she could do to me, my cock twitching at the idea. I licked my lips, a smug smile forming on my face. “It’s tempting.”

She scoffed and decided to drop it. “I see you’ve been a good boy,” she said, gesturing to the floor.

I sat up in bed, leaning over to glance at Amber’s body. The blood had pooled, and I figured it hadn’t meandered its way to the floor below or I’d heard about it. I hated being sloppy. I loved the meticulous work involved in hiding my murders.

“You know, you’re ruining all the fun in killing people,” I said to the goddess.

“Oh, and how so?” she asked, her wings flaring.

“I don’t like leaving them like that to be found.”

“Too bad.” She shrugged her shoulders. “Suck it up.”

Goddess or not, she was getting on my nerves. I got out of bed, not even bothering to get dressed. I crossed the distance between us. She looked at me with an intimidating air, obviously unimpressed, and this annoyed me even more, my nose flaring. “You might not care,” I said, inches from her, “but I have a reputation to uphold.”

She huffed in frustration. “You think you’re so strong, aren’t you, boy?” She spat the words, her fingers stinking in my chest as she told them. Her strength radiated, and I had no choice but to shrink until my back hit the wall. “Don’t you forget who gave you this strength. I could easily crush you if I wanted.”

I swallowed my saliva, understanding the threat in her tone. This was a goddess we were talking about. She could destroy me with the flick of her wrist. Whether I liked it or not, I had to uphold our deal. It would also be best to have her on my side rather than fight with her. I took a deep breath .

“I don’t like it, but I won’t forget our deal.”

Aeris held my stare, and I knew she was studying me. I relaxed when she finally smiled. “Well, I’m glad you’re still obeying me, even if it’s less fun this way,” she said in a satisfied tone to end the subject.

I reaffirmed my obedience one last time, ensuring the goddess knew I would stay true to her. “As you can see, my goddess.”

I took a few steps, the air in the room becoming lighter. I was even surprised to sense a soft, magical breeze from Aeris, letting me know she was in a better mood.

“So, what’s so important that you had to come and see me?” I asked Aeris.

“I came to check in on your progress with the city,” she replied casually.

“I had no idea I was so important that a goddess would come for me.”

“There’s more at play than you think. It’s not just about killing people. There’s a purpose,” she answered before adding, “Of all mortals, you’re probably the most important, Caleb.”

I raised an eyebrow at Aeris’s use of my first name. It wasn’t her habit to call me that, but I liked hearing my name on her lips. It reminded me of when she’d shouted it in ecstasy.

A teasing smile played on her lips as if she were reading my thoughts. “Don’t get too cocky.”

I laughed at her remark, then added, “Which reminds me, are you always reading my mind?”

She flew around the room, looking at me from every angle as I grabbed my pants and dressed. “ Oh, don’t worry. You’re nowhere near important enough for that, boy. But since we’re linked, I can read your thoughts if I want to.”

I grimaced in annoyance. “Well, my thoughts aren’t always good to spy on.”

She laughed. “I’ve noticed.”

I raised my eyebrow and insisted, “I value my privacy.”

Aeris flew to me, her soft wings brushing my still-naked chest.

“Don’t worry. I’m not in your thoughts as often as you think.” She drew back, her tone shifting. “But don’t even think of using this privacy to betray me.”

This was the second time I was getting threatened by the goddess, and I didn’t like it. I’d only known her for a limited time. Although I had consumed her body and tasted her divine pleasure, there was nothing to indicate that I could fully trust her. I tried to hide the terror that momentarily filled me by looking away and putting on my shirt. “I would never dare.”

The atmosphere relaxed suddenly. She added casually, “It’s nothing against you. You need to understand that gods can’t trust anyone.”

I closed the distance between us, trying to lighten the atmosphere. “You can trust me. You’ve seen how I can care for you just the right way.”

She laughed, and I was happy that it worked. “Don’t be too smug. You can only fuck me as long as I allow it.”

Her words struck me. I knew she was using me. I’d known it from the moment she’d offered me her powers, and I was using her in return.

A god could never be fully trusted .

But she said it so candidly, admitting it in all sincerity, that I wondered what she would do when she no longer needed me. “And how long will you allow it?”

The goddess narrowed her eyes at me. She was probably determining how much information to give me. I would do the same. After pondering, she answered, “Well, since you’re my son, I might as well tell you.”

I nodded and waited for her to continue. “I will allow you to please me as long as my lover hasn’t come back to life.”

Her answer brought even more questions to mind. “Your lover?” I asked in surprise.

“Alastor,” she replied passionately.

The name rang a bell, and I remembered. “Isn’t he the one the Mi?onblooders worship?”

She nodded. I wasn’t particularly fond of this religion because of their actions and beliefs, but then again, I wasn’t religious either. They just had a bad reputation. I asked, “Do you share their religion then?”

She burst out laughing. “My poor boy. I don’t worship anyone. But I share the same desire to bring Alastor back to the living world, as he’s my lover. Together, we’ll become the most powerful couple once we mate.”

A shiver of terror ran through me at the thought. Surely, the two of them would be strong enough to easily destroy our world. I needed to know more. I wanted to see if she would throw me away or kill me when he was there. After all, she wouldn’t need me anymore. But I couldn’t be too direct with her. I took a deep breath.

“What will you do when he gets here?” I dared to ask.

The goddess stared at something in the void that only she could see. “Take my revenge on my family.”

The idea was terrifying, and I was glad to be on the goddess’s side. I murmured, “I wouldn’t want to be someone you take revenge on.”

The goddess smiled, focusing on me again as if suddenly remembering I was there. She reached out and took my chin with her fingertips. “And that’s exactly why you’re such a good boy.”

“What did they do to you?” I asked, my curiosity too strong to hold back.

A flash passed through Aeris’s eyes suddenly. “I’m Selena’s half-sister, the Moon Goddess.”

“The one revered by werewolves?” I asked in surprise.

Aeris’s eyes darkened. “That one. The one even humans have a basilica and a capital in her name.”

I could feel the rage even in our bond as she spat the words with hatred. “Everyone always worshipped my half-sister. But me? Well . . . Theia, my mother, cheated on her husband, the great Hyperion, with my father, the demon Erebus, from whom I inherited the wings.”

Her wings wriggled simultaneously as she walked up and down the room, small magical sparks flying as her anger was too great for her to contain. I wanted to go over to her and try to calm her down, but it was too risky, so I just stood there listening to her, speechless.

“I was the child of shame. Half-goddess, half-demon. Raised in secret in my sister’s shadow. I was hated by my half-father and forbidden to see my birth father, Erebus. I was chastised and locked away while my half-sister received all praises. ”

She clenched her fists tightly, a violent magical storm raging around her, the room’s dust flying around. I feared she’d lose her temper and wreak havoc on the room. The last thing I wanted was to attract too much attention from the tavern owners.

I cast a magical wave in her direction, momentarily drawing her attention as I shouted, “Aeris.”

She suddenly stopped and quieted, the room returning to normal as the goddess composed herself. She approached me, pressing me against the wall, her body warm against mine. She placed kisses against my neck, running her tongue over my skin, surprising me with her sudden change. She whispered in my ear, her lips brushing against my earlobe as her hands slid against my body. I surrendered to her touch, enjoying the feelings that filled me as she grabbed my cock.

“All this will change the day I bond with Alastor. We’ll unify our powers and create a new force of half-demons, half-gods. Together, we’ll make those who failed to see my importance pay.”

I listened to her words, but I was drunk on her touch. Aeris’s hands knew where to touch me. Her breath was warm on my neck, and her chest was pressed against me. Between her licks and kisses, I only half listened to what she was saying, a slave to my desires.

Aeris licked my ear, and I moaned as I felt a wave of magic caress me. I enjoyed doing it to my victims to lure them to follow me. I should have tried to get away, but I didn’t care. All I wanted was to enjoy the moment.

She asked, “Will you do it for me?”

I had no idea what she wanted, but at this moment, I’d do anything for her. “Yes,” I grunted as I ran my hands over her body, finding her moist center.

“Good boy,” she said with a suppressed moan. She grabbed my cock, and whispered in my ear, “Come, let me reward you.”
