Chapter 24. the Purr Cure

THE PURR CURE

SAWDUST

When Whitney arrived home late that evening, Sawdust could tell she was upset. She kicked off her boots with much more force than usual, and she talked to Collin in a loud, choppy way that said she was frustrated. But Sawdust knew how to fix the situation.

As soon as she lay down in bed, he curled up against her and started to purr.

The vibration didn’t only calm him, it always seemed to calm Whitney, too.

It took longer than usual tonight, but eventually she settled down into sleep.

He wished he knew what she was upset about, wished he could do something about it.

After all, she did so much for him, it would only be right to do something for her in return. But what could the little runt do?
