12. Shayna

CHAPTER 12

Shayna

Friday evening

I can hear Lexi and Cam laughing from the living room and it puts a smile on my face. The boys are spending the weekend at friends' houses. Placing the last glass from dinner in the dishwasher, I close it up and start it. Making everyone a drink, I head into the living room with them.

“Thanks, Shay,” Lexi says when I hand her a glass of wine, then sit on the couch next to Cam. The couches are in an L shape, and Lexi and my legs are close enough to touch. Camden takes the glass of Jack Daniels and Coke from me, giving me a kiss on my neck just below my ear.

The room is uncharacteristically quiet, except for the low music in the background. Hear Me Now by Bad Wolves play from Camden’s playstation. The song always makes me smile, making me think of Lexi every damn time. I give a little chuckle as the part comes up about never knowing we’d be more than friends. Lexi looks at me inquisitively, wondering why I’m laughing.

“Nothing. It’s just this song,” I say and she sits and listens for a minute and I can see when she realizes, because the blush rises on her cheeks. Cam tosses his arm over the back of the couch behind me and crosses his leg, resting his left ankle on his right knee.

“So… are we going to talk about the elephant in the room?” he asks, bringing his drink up to his lips taking a sip. Lexi looks down at her drink and hands in her lap. I wonder what she thinks he’s talking about. It could be Jason, or she and I kissing, or possibly the kiss they shared not too long ago. Yes of course, Cam told me about it. But she doesn’t know that.

“Okay then. I guess I will start,” I say and look over to Lexi. She doesn’t look up at me. “We said once Cam came home we would talk about this. So just to set your mind at ease…” I pause and look at Camden, and he has his handsome crooked smile on his face looking back at me. “Baby, please tell Lexi that you are okay with her and I having something on the side.”

When the words leave my lips, Lexi’s head shoots up looking at Camden and I. Her mouth pops open but nothing comes out. I don’t think she expected me to be so blunt about it. But then again, when have I ever not said what was on my mind at the time.

“That’s not… wait a minute… what?” she stammers over her words making me smile even more. Camden furrows his brow, resting his glass on his thigh. I know he’s playing around and she should as well, but she’s so caught up in the moment worried she’s stepped over a line.

“What’s not what, Lex?” he asks. “Did you or did you not kiss my wife?” he asks leaning back casually with one single brow raised.

Her mouth is opening and closing like a fish out of water. She honestly doesn’t know what to say. Her eyes keep bouncing from me to Cam. But after a few minutes, I smack the back of my hand in Camden’s stomach.

“Stop. She thinks you’re serious,” I say sternly and he laughs.

“Sweet girl,” he says, looking at her softly. “All I want is for my wife to be happy and if being with you brings her happiness, then I’m all for that.”

I finally look back to Lexi and I can tell she’s processing what he just said. I sit my wine glass on the table and lean forward placing my hand on her knee, rubbing my thumb soothingly.

“See. I told you he was okay with it. Now, you just need to be okay with it,” I say.

Her eyes bounce from him to me over and over. I sit back, giving her a moment to process everything.

“I honestly don’t know, Shay. I’m confused as hell right now,” she says. My body goes cold. Does she not want me? My eyes downcast as I clasp my own hands in my lap. I’m feeling a bit insecure at the moment. Maybe I read everything wrong.

“We’re not trying to pressure you, Sweet Girl. We only want you to know we’re here when you’re ready,” Camden says. Always like him to pick up on my thinking and knowing my body language. And I wonder if she heard what he said when he used the word ‘we’. I look up at her through my lashes, hoping to see something from her.

Lexi’s eyes slowly lift to mine. I wish I could read her mind. She seems to be processing everything we’ve said. Suddenly, I see it cross over her face and she leans forward sitting her glass on the table. She’s now leaning her elbows on her knees looking at me, and Cam subtly nudges my leg with his thigh. Not enough to be noticed but I felt it. Her eyes focus on mine.

“I want to try. But…” she stalls a bit. My heart is racing. She said she will try, and that’s all I care about right now. She’s willing to give this a shot with us. I know she only means she and I, but that’s okay. If she can be brought around to this, then I’m hoping eventually she will let Cam in. She’s already kissed him, so I know she has some kind of feelings for him. “...I really don’t know what I’m doing with this type of thing,” she finishes and I release a breath I wasn’t even aware I had been holding.

I nod at her, but before I can say anything, Cam clears his throat. He leans forward, now sitting his empty glass on the table as well. “Why don’t you two take a step at a time. Maybe you will feel more comfortable, if you are sure it’s not going to bother me,” I turn my head to look at him and Lexi’s eyes move to him as well.

Camden has such a dark and devious look on his face. “How?” Lexi asks as Camden stands from the couch.

“Kiss her. Right here in front of me. You will see that I don’t get upset and maybe then you will know,” he says. I’m looking up at him standing next to me. I glance down at his crotch and a smile passes over my lips, because just the thought of us together is making him hard. I shake my head slightly and turn back to Lexi. She’s looking at him but her eyes move to mine.

I slide off of the couch onto my knees and make my way in front of her. I push her thighs apart as she sits up straighter. Her eyes are now focused on me. I can feel Camden staring at us. He hasn’t moved to leave at all.

“Kiss me, Lex,” I say as my hands travel up her thighs. The yoga pants she’s wearing are thin and I can feel her muscles jump under my touch. I focus on her eyes and her hazel green eyes are bouncing between mine and my lips. After a moment she looks up and I feel Camden move behind me, but I don’t lose my focus.

He reaches his hand and cups her chin in one hand, letting his thumb rub over her lips. “Let me watch you enjoy my wife, Sweet Girl,” he says. When he removes his hand, her eyes once again focus on me.

Her hands softly touch each of my arms and travel up the length of my arms. I shiver from the base of my spine all over. Her touch is lighting my entire body on fire right now. Is this really happening? Am I really able to enjoy this?

Lexi’s hands move over my shoulders to cup my cheeks, and we both move at the same time, tilting our heads and closing our eyes as our mouths connect in a fevered kiss. This one is sweet and damn sure not quick. It is a clashing of mouths and tongues dancing in such a primal way. I moan at the contact. Her hands move into my hair and she fists her hands holding my head still. I press my body further into hers, spreading her legs even further. I know we’re not taking this too far. I want to take things slowly with her, since I don’t want to scare her. She’s already confessed she doesn’t know what she’s doing since I’m already married and my husband is literally standing right behind me watching us.

I hear Camden growl at the sight before him. I’m sure I will benefit from this little show tonight when I finally end up in our room. I can’t wait until I can have her in there with us. The scenes and scenarios of all three of us bounce around in my head like a depraved movie that I want to act out so badly.

After a few minutes, or could have been seconds or hours for all I know, Lexi pulls back, but kisses my lips a few more times. It's strange, but I feel like she’s holding something back. Like maybe she wants more but is afraid of doing it. I know we need to build up to that, and I’m hoping she will open up to me soon. In more ways than one.

“I guess we’re doing this then, aren’t we?” she asks softly. Her hands release my hair from the hold she had on it, and move them to the nape of my neck. Smiling at her, I give a little nod pleased with how this worked out. She nudges my nose with hers and kisses me again, making me moan in delight.

“We can take it a little slow and see where this goes, okay?” I ask, and she nods.

“That sounds like a plan,” she replies. We sit there staring at one another, until I hear Cam move behind me and I look over my shoulder. Lexi looks up at him too and he’s smiling as he takes a step back.

“It’s getting late and we all had a long day. How about you two plan something for tomorrow night. Like a little date. The boys are going to be gone until Sunday. You have the whole weekend,” he says smiling. I look back at Lexi and she smiles at me.

“What do you think?” she asks me and I nod.

“That sounds great,” I say. I lean forward one more time, using her thighs to push myself to stand, but take the opportunity once more to kiss her chastely.

We both laugh. Camden places one hand on my waist as I hold my hands out to help Lexi stand up. When she stands, I step forward and wrap my arms around her waist hugging her. Her arms automatically raise to wrap around my shoulders. We hug silently for a few moments.

We pull away from each other and we all head toward our rooms. I watch as Lexi goes into her room across the hall from ours and closes the door. Camden steps into our room first ahead of me. I close our door and turn the lock, feeling him behind me before I can even turn around. His presence has always overwhelmed me, especially in the bedroom. I can feel his dominant aura heavy right now. I move to turn facing him, and his hand is around my throat in an instant pushing me against the hard door. My hands immediately grab onto the sides of his shirt, gripping the fabric tight. He presses his body into mine, looking down at me with a sinister smile on his face. “Now, Princess…” he whispers against my lips. “How wet are you for her?”
