Ava: Okay, so Sophie was a bust.
Tabby: to be fair, your setup did work. she left with Carter
Ava: She was SUPPOSED to leave with Hale.

Tabby: he could just not be interested in dating right now, Ava.
Ava: No. He’s interested. Nobody at Ricochet that much unless they’re an alcoholic, trying to meet someone or avoiding home.
Yasmine: Maybe the man just likes being outside.
Ava: No. He’s lonely.
Annie: some people like being alone
Ava: Some people do. But not him.
Tabby: and you know this how?
Ava: Because I have eyes. And emotional intelligence. And unlike some of y’all, I pay attention.
Tabby: I pay attention!

Tabby: a professor? and a doctor? nice.
Ava: Thoughtful. Intellectual. Reads books for information, not entertainment.

Ava: Hale is smart-smart. He needs somebody who can keep up.
Tabby: I guess. when are you thinking?
Ava: This week. Tuesday maybe? I’ll tell Hale I wanna grab a drink and then Dr. Kimball just so happens to drop by.
Annie: he is absolutely going to know it’s a setup
Ava: Obviously. But he’s too polite to get up and leave.

Ava: It’s not mean. It’s helping. The man needs help.

Yasmine: I’m unpacking.
