Chapter 2 He Admitted He Snatched It

When I reached the company, Xiao Yuan was in a meeting.

Haohai's focus was film and TV investment. Five years ago Xiao Yuan completely fell out with his father. He left the Xiao family and struck out on his own.

Every project he invested in made a killing.

After I signed with Haohai, Xiao Yuan handed me to career department director Xie Kun with full authority.

I was left to work almost on my own inside Haohai.

On the surface he said he had no experience planning a singer's development.

But in reality, it looked to me like Xiao Yuan was just hiding from me.

I waited forty minutes. Xiao Yuan came out of the meeting late, in no hurry.

He had cut his hair short. He wore a black leather jacket and dark blue jeans. He looked slack, nothing like a so-called company head.

Xiao Yuan rarely wore formal clothes. Occasions that needed him in a suit, he dumped on Xie Kun.

The last time I saw him in a suit was Shen Xinrui's movie premiere.

He showed up as the investor to back Shen Xinrui. That same day, his CP with Shen Xinrui hit the trending search.

I figured that had been allowed by Xiao Yuan. Maybe he had even ordered it himself.

Otherwise, with a temper like his, who would dare exploit his popularity? He would come down himself and humiliate them in public.

That familiar dull ache hit my heart again. I was already used to it. My face stayed the same as I called, "Xiao Yuan."

Xiao Yuan let out an mm and asked politely, "How long did you wait?"

"Forty minutes."

He tossed out a perfunctory thanks for the trouble, took off the leather jacket, pulled out the office chair and sat. "If you have something, go find Xie Kun. I don't know much about your career development."

I clenched my hands, then slowly let go. "The new perfume endorsement. They approached me first. Why did it go to Shen Xinrui later?"

Xiao Yuan raised a brow, like he was hearing it for the first time. "They approached you first?"

He didn't need my answer. Xiao Yuan said straight, "Shen Xinrui asked me for this endorsement, so I gave it to her."

I blinked, slow and dull.

"Xie Kun doesn't know. After Xia Yu's scandal broke this morning, the company has been discussing a PR plan."

Xiao Yuan's pace didn't change. He sounded like he was coordinating between staff from the company head's seat, in case I got the wrong idea. "I snatched it. Don't blame him."
