Chapter 6 He Ran From Me
I had thought the Emperor was only joking with one casual line. I had not expected this dog of a man to truly stop minding me.
That day I went to the Imperial Garden in high spirits to look at the flowers. The moment this wretch saw me, he ran. I blocked him, a little unhappy. "Why are you hiding from me?"
Xie Linmu set his hands on his waist. "So it is a person. I thought a pig had taken shape. Scared me to death."
My heart jumped with anger. "Xie Linmu!"
"Oh?" A smile sat in Xie Linmu's brows and eyes. "Where did this palace maid come from, daring to call me by name?"
"Who is a palace maid?"
"Then are you a eunuch?"
"Xie Linmu, if I pay you any more mind, I am a dog!" I glared at him, turned, and left in a huff.
Behind me, Xie Linmu stretched, lazy. He sounded well pleased as he spoke to the eunuch beside him. "I have been hearing that line from childhood until I am sick of it."
