Chapter 1 Landing in Vancouver
I had just gotten off the plane when I scrolled to Lu Huaichuan's post.
Just because Lu Huaichuan had complained on the phone two days ago that he had a fever and still needed to rush a PPT. He couldn't even rest during the New Year.
On the phone, he coughed as if his lungs would come out.
I thought about it and still felt worried. I bought a ticket right away and flew over.
From Vancouver Airport, it took an hour by taxi to Lu Huaichuan's apartment.
During that hour, I read that post over and over on my phone.
I tried to find a trace of reluctance or love in it.
There was none.
He said everything was calculated.
He said he needed my money, my connections, so he pursued me.
Now his wings were full, and he met a girl from a good family.
So he wanted to return to the right track.
He said the thought of spending the past seven years on a man made him sick.
But for fame and fortune, he had no regrets.
His only worry now was how to break up with me peacefully without me retaliating.
