Chapter 24 The Lonely Grave

I heard someone had found a lonely grave near the Imperial Mausoleum.

There was no tombstone in front of it, only a Silk Tree. A camphor box was buried beneath the tree.

Inside the box were a few small things woven from bamboo strips, a dried red leaf, a faded sachet, and half a broken Qilin Pendant.

People said that on every night of the full moon, they would see a young master in a plain robe sitting under the tree, playing the qin toward the moon.

The music sounded mournful, as if it were telling of some unfinished worry.

I had a feeling the one he waited for would never come again.

The peach blossoms of Jiangnan bloomed at their brightest. They still could not wait for the one who watched peach blossoms.

The snow of Changan fell without pause. It still could not land in the hair of the one who had longed for snow.
