Chapter 13 Take Responsibility

I held back my tears and came to Qin Ruoyi's cave dwelling, thinking how to explain.

I had only been fighting for a bit of face.

It was not enough for her not to want me, right?

But what reason could I use to call her over?

Just then.

A small jiao dragon quickly crawled across the stone steps.

I went quiet for a moment, then returned to my own cave dwelling.

Sure enough.

A pure black mini jiao dragon was waiting for me in my cave dwelling.

"Father," I called it.

"Wu?" The cute little jiao lifted its head to look at me.

"Can you do a backflip?" I asked my Father the jiao, who had lost his mind.

"Wu..." The little jiao blinked, then bit its own tail and rolled backward.

I accepted it reluctantly, took out Qin Ruoyi's small portrait, and let it glance.

"Fine enough. Father, practice a bit more. I'll find this person to come watch. Remember, when this person comes, you backflip."

I had a reason now. I could go to Qin Ruoyi's cave dwelling and call her.

I knocked on her formation.

"Qin Ruoyi!"

"..."

No sound.

"Qin Ruoyi, want to come to my place? I have a little jiao at home that can backflip."

"..."

Wu... she was ignoring me.

I sniffed my sore nose. My nose started running again.

I went back to the cave dwelling.

I saw Father still working hard at learning the backflip.

"Yi wu yi wu?" Little jiao Father looked behind me, showing confusion.

"Right. She's not coming." I tilted my head up, tears about to fall. "Father, you should go. You came too early. Mother hasn't woken yet."

Jiao Father would not leave and started playing in my cave dwelling.

I could not hold it in. If jiao Father would not go, I was going to cry anyway. I lay on the bed, drinking wine and crying out loud.

Rustling came by my ear. I ignored it.

After a while came chewing.

Then rustling again.

"Father! Can you not steal my spirit fruits while I'm crying! I already got dumped! She doesn't want me, wuwuwu..." I lifted my head, roared at it through tears, and stuffed the spirit fruits into the Qiankun Ring.

The little jiao shot off in a streak of smoke.

"A Mother who will not wake, a Father who lost his mind, and then the broken me."

I started drinking again and wailed.

After I got drunk.

A small black claw patted me and delivered a little book in its mouth.

I took it, dazed.

I looked carefully. A few twisted words were written: "The Overbearing Mountain God Fell For Me."

"What do I need this for?" I asked jiao Father, squinting.

The little jiao licked its claws. Its little black eyes shone bright. Yi wu yi wu, it flipped to a certain page.

I fixed my eyes and looked.

Only one sentence was marked in red.

"I'm pregnant, yours, take responsibility."

If I had been sober.

I would have swung my arm and given the little jiao a smack.

But drunk me thought...

"This works! I'm pregnant too! Qin Ruoyi has to take responsibility!" I held up the book and shouted, eyes unfocused.

Then I took the book and ran again to knock on the formation at Qin Ruoyi's cave dwelling door.

"Qin Ruoyi, open the door!

"I know you're home!

"You've got the guts to get me pregnant, how don't you have the guts to open the door! Wuwuwu..."

I knocked the formation at the door until it went bang, bang.

I cried miserably.

That broken door finally opened.

Qin Ruoyi stood there with her hair down and stared at me, unsmiling.

"What is it?"

"I'm pregnant. Yours." I looked at her with red rims around my eyes, pitiful.

Qin Ruoyi seemed to see that I was drunk. Her fine brows drew tight. In a hoarse voice she said, word by word, "Is toying with me fun?"

I grabbed her waist, eyes full of tears. "I'm sorry."

Qin Ruoyi did not move. She did not hold me either. She turned her face away. "Sorry for what?"

My head was foggy. I answered her with a wretched face.

"Actually I'm not pregnant, because you can't."

Qin Ruoyi's fist clenched all at once.

"But I love you."

Drunk, I rested my head against her soft chest and nuzzled lightly.

"Everything I said today was fake. I was wrong.

"Qin Ruoyi, say you forgive me. Then don't let me off, all right?"

I reached out a cold hand, slowly slid it into Qin Ruoyi's slightly open collar, and pressed it to her warm heart.

"Even if I'm not pregnant, if you sleep with me now, you can still take responsibility."

Qin Ruoyi's breathing grew heavy. She reached out and pinned down that restless hand of mine.

Qin Ruoyi's heart beat very fast.

I thought she had probably forgiven me.
