Chapter 30
Damien
Six months had passed, and London’s speech was fully recovered.
She continued going to Laurel’s meditation center twice a week and even managed to get me to go with her.
We made it through the toughest times of our lives, and now, we were living each day to the fullest as if it were our last. I cut back on my work schedule.
I went into the office at eight and was out by five.
Weekends were no longer workdays for me because those were the two days I spent every minute with my wife.
I loved my new life; it wouldn’t have been possible had London, and I never crossed paths.
When I look back on those days, I was a terrible and lonely man who only cared about work and making as much money as possible.
I never knew the love of one special woman could change me.
I didn’t think people could change, but I was proof they could.
She saw something in me that nobody else had, and I would always be grateful to her.
She was the love of my life and the only thing I needed in the world.
London
The happiest days of my life were now, and the best days were still to come.
My brush with death taught me not to take the little things for granted and to cherish each and every moment we are given.
There was a reason Damien and I crossed paths that day at the airport.
I was sent to help him, and he was sent to help me.
Every morning when I woke up and looked at him, I thanked God for sending him to me.
We were meant to heal each other, and that was exactly what we did.
We decided not to have another wedding with our friends because the day we were married in California had such special memories.
That was all we needed. Instead, on the one-year anniversary of our marriage, we would host a big celebration.
Not only celebrating our marriage but also celebrating the new life I was given—a life full of love, happiness, and free of worry.
Damien Prescott once told me that he would never be anyone’s knight and shining armor, but he was wrong.
He was my knight and shining armor, and would forever be.
Thank you for reading Damien Prescott.
I hope you enjoyed it!
