Jerk

After waking up on the shore, naked and soaked in the warmth of sleeping next to Lucas all night, I wondered why people went to such great lengths for the comfort of the king sized beds and luxurious bedrooms. Maybe it was because I had all I needed right here with me, except Abby and Aiden—I was sure Lucas could make arrangements to have them over, and maybe we could start our own little family here too—but this was the highest form of comfort to me. And I never wanted to go back home.

If wishes were horses, right.

I could at least savor this delicious moment where I watched the sunrise slowly on my boyfriend's handsome face.

With his arms draped around me possessively, it took a little effort to turn to my side without waking him up.

That effort though was rewarded by the sight of how peaceful Lucas looked in his sleep.

Everything about Lucas filled my senses with both desire and need.

I ran my fingers across the dusting of hair scattered on his sturdy muscles and pressed a small kiss on his chin. The moment was only short-lived though since that seemed to stir him awake.

"You know it's creepy to watch someone in their sleep," he said with a grin and it melted my heart to see that big smile on his face as his first expression this morning.

"I couldn't help it," I giggled, snuggling closer to him and burying my face in the crook of his neck.

"Well I can't say I'm complaining, but I do hope you like what you see,"

"I love it." my whisper was followed by another kiss on his neck.

His low groan vibrated against my skin, "You keep doing that and we won't get anything done today."

"We have things to get done?" All I wanted to do was stay right here in his arms and only get up when we wanted to have another session of skinny dipping slash sex in the ocean.

"I have something I would like to show you today, a place actually," he explained.

I tilted my head away from him, raising a brow as I gestured to the large expanse of nothing but perfection laid out before us, "better than this?"

He chuckled, "Believe me you haven't seen half of what this island has to offer yet,"

"Well, now I'm curious,"

"Good," he growled as his fingers dug into my hips, pulling me further into him, "which is why you should stop putting thoughts in my head."

"I'm putting thoughts in your head?" Unable to help myself, I gasped at his morning erection throbbing against my abdomen.

"Yup," he nodded, "and I'm afraid if you don't stop all our plans for today would be canceled, including the surprise I have for you."

Every surprise Lucas had given me in the last few days had brought nothing but a big smile on my face and I had no doubt this would be any different.

That was the only push I had to withdraw myself from him, an action that took some strong will, "Then I guess, I need to get ready, but we're taking care of that big guy later," I said suggestively, winking at him and ignoring the desperate urge to gawk at his cock.

He was right, we were getting nothing done if we lay here in these sheets even a little longer.

"Promise?" he gave a sexy grin as he drew me closer for a kiss.

"Promise. Now if you'd excuse me, I have to go get ready for my boyfriend's surprise. Is there a dress code, or are we sticking to the no clothes plan,"

His chest rumbled with a deep laugh, "Something comfortable enough to walk up a mountain."

"We're going hiking?!" I squealed in excitement and threw my arms around him in a tight hug when he nodded, "Oh I love you so much."

Unlike back in Diego, getting ready simply meant taking a short swim, having a delicious brunch of scrambled eggs, cheese, and shrimps, downed with a glass of wine, made by none other than Lucas. Again, I had the best man I could ever ask for as a boyfriend.

I threw on something cool and light, considering the activity in tow, and followed Lucas's lead as he headed through the wooded area.

It turned out we had only explored one-third of the island.

As the hike went further, we took more rocky terrains which were not too difficult, yet Lucas had insisted on carrying me through most of them.

While I was not complaining, I decided it was time to stand my ground as we reached what looked like the stomp of a dead old tree. Despite his disagreement, he let me climb through on my own, not without being beside me to make sure I did not slip or fall.

The hike went on for the next few minutes with me oohing and ahhing over the different forest life.

I felt like I was two years old again, having a conversation with a squirrel we had found on our way and it refueled my desire to get a pet before we made our way back to Diego.

Apart from the glint of amusement in his eyes when I caught him watching me earlier with the squirrels, Lucas though seemed less impressed by everything else.

Shocking, because the view up here was nothing short of impeccable.

The go camera I had taken with me was now only left with 6 films strips as against the 50 I had when we set out this morning.

Celine would have more than enough pictures to fawn over for months.

Placing the camera in my back pocket, I wiped a bead of sweat running down the valley between my breasts.

I was not ready to admit to Lucas yet, but I was starting to feel a little exhausted after walking for nearly two hours.

It was a little weird because I did not actually walk for most of it and then there was the fact that I was curious to know what Lucas's surprise was.

Still, there was that weariness in my legs and I closed my eyes, resisting the temptation to sit on a nearby rock.

Knowing Lucas, he would not only be suspicious if I asked for a third break-in less than two hours but would insist on carrying me for the rest of the way. I was not having that.

Apart from my legs threatening to give out any minute, there was also a dull ache in my back. I dismissed it quietly, attributing it to one of the negatives from waking up on the beach floor.

Yeah, I see why people need beds now.

"Are you doing alright muffin?" Lucas asked as he passed me a bottle of water after taking a sip.

I offered him a convincing smile, with a small nod, bringing the water to my lips. The burst of freshness streamed down my throat and I realized my tiredness might have had a thing or two to do with thirst. "Are we there yet?"

"Almost."

Even though the thick vegetation, I could tell it was an upward slope, and the farther we hiked, the more dizzy and weak I felt.

And at this point, the thin cotton of my dress clung to my body, proof of how much I was sweating.

I closed my eyes, imagining what it would feel like to be floating over the cool waters back at the beach, and in my reverie, I could hear the rush of water in the distance.

It felt like a trance that only got more real as we trekked further.

Lucas returned my curious look with a bright smile and I was about to voice a question before I realized we had reached the pinnacle of the mountain.

"Oh my God!" I gasped, eyes widened at the glorious sight before me. Lucas was right. I had only gotten a glimpse of what this island could offer earlier. Now I had the full view. "We can see the entire island from there."

We really could. The space beneath us stretched out into thick vegetation, trees tall enough to compete with the clouds, and the blue ocean stretched out far into the horizon.

From up here, it all seemed so small almost like it was when we were skydiving.

It was both dizzying and breathtaking and suddenly I forgot how tired I felt minutes ago.

"This has to be the tallest mountain I've ever seen." I giggled, turning back to Lucas. He had his hands in his pockets and once again, his entire focus on me instead of the view in front of us.

"It is the tallest here," he said with an amused smile, eyes never straying from me.

"You don't seem too impressed," I noted and realized how stupid it sounded as it occurred to me that he had spent some of his childhood here and had probably grown bored of the view. I waved it off with a hand, "Silly me, you have probably already seen this a thousand times."

The smile on his face was quickly replaced by a stern frown, "You are not silly, and I am impressed by the view here. I'm just happier to see that you like it."

How could I not? My look drifted back to the sight. "It's gorgeous." I reached for the camera in my back pocket and took two shots, "Celine would die for these."

Chuckling, he took the camera from me and wrapped an arm around my hips, yanking me closer. "I have a better idea what we can do with this,"

"Really?" I raised a brow, even though I had a good idea what that was.

"It's been on my bucket list since we arrived here," he tilted his head, capturing my lips in a soft kiss as he held the camera at a higher angle. "This is probably my favorite so far," he said handing the picture he had taken to me.

I could not help but giggle as I looked at it, "Mine too," tilting my head at him, I feigned a suspicious look, "A good chef and great at photography too. Any other hidden skills you'd like to surprise me with?"

"Well I'm not sure if it's hidden, but I have been known to give great orgasms too," he said with a playful smirk, placing the camera as well as the pictures in his pocket.

My body realized the truth of his words first and my cheeks burned as desire rocked wantonly through me.

I chewed on my lips shyly, redirecting my gaze.

The slope from where we stood reminded me of the pride rock from the lion king.

Only, in the place of the animal subjects below us, we had a waterfall cascading down a cliff.

It's a little confusing because I was unable to see whether the surface below us was just a reflection or real.

"Is that solid ground?" I said, taking a peek below.

"We're about to find out," I could not tell how he did it in no less than a minute, but when I turned to Lucas, he had lost every piece of clothing on him.

His tanned muscled body glistened in the blazing sun and I found myself stuck in a trance again, only this time it was more depraved than needing a cold swim.

We exchanged wordless looks as I stood there watching him and in my effort to keep my composure and not drool over his perfect body, I only realized his presence next to me when I felt his warm strong arms around my body.

"Are you ready for this?" he asked, snapping me back into the present.

"Ready for what?"

"To dive." he nodded towards the waterfall below. "there's a pool below."

I tilted my head to take a peek again, unconvinced, "there is?"

"Come on, I'll show you."

Any further question was cut off by a sharp gasp as with one quick motion Lucas had us tumbling over in a giant leap and the next second we were plummeting down the pinnacle. A moment later our bodies hit the cool surface as we crashed into a burst of water.

The impact of the water was more immediate and exhilarating than I expected. Our bodies separated and in my thrill, it took a second to realize I was sinking further to the bottom. Kicking my way up, I broke through the surface with an elated scream.

I looked up to realize it was a reflective surface and the dark pool of water was an optical illusion. From up there, it mirrored the rocks and everything else above it, making it look like rocky ground. It was both scary and thrilling.

This would go down as one of the most unforgettable vacations of my entire life. That was what I meant to tell Lucas, but as my eyes roamed the space before me, I realized he had not come up yet.

"Lucas?" My loud call bounced through the wet walls of rock.

Dread filled my senses as I received nothing but my echoes in reply. I clutched my nose, took a deep breath, and sank back into the water hoping to find him lurking lower for whatever reason.

A few seconds search underwater brought up no result and I broke back to the surface again no less worried than I was before.

I called out a few more times, but every one returned as a heartwrenching echo.

My mind had already started to race with the worst possible explanations when I caught sight of his large, unmistakable figure sprawled face down across the shore.

"Oh my God!" I screamed, my stomach churning with horror.

I forced my way through the water, sobbing the words, "please be okay, please be okay.

" My heart was pounding from racing through the water with such speed and the ache in my back was now even worse escalating to my abdomen.

But none of that mattered. All that mattered was getting to him and making sure he was alright.

"This cannot be happening, this cannot fucking be happening," I whispered, swallowing the bile in my throat as I turned Lucas over with shaky hands, expecting to find the very worse.

Instead, I was met with an amused grin on his face, followed by a long peal of laughter.

I blinked in surprise, taking a moment to realize that he had done this on purpose.

But unlike him, I was so not finding this prank funny in the very least. It was more upsetting because he could not see that I was on the verge of having a heart attack minutes ago when I found him looking lifeless on the floor.

After releasing a deep sigh of relief, I smacked the hard planes of his chest, giving him my deathliest glare. "Jerk!" I was pretty sure my hand was more hurt from the impact of the hit, but at least it managed to pull him out of his amusement.

"I'm sorry Muffin," he said, taking my hand and stopping me from throwing another smack, "Are you okay?"

"Am I okay?" I scoffed blinking back tears, "What do you think the answer is? That was the meanest. I thought you..." my voice trailed off because I was too terrified to even complete the thought.

"I'm fine. It was just a joke."

"Well, it was not fucking funny!" I yelled, backing away from him. If I was going to leave here without hurting him I could not be near him.

Lucas was not having that though, he got to his knees, inching closer until I was within his reach again, "I'm sorry Muffin, I did not mean to scare you," I quirked an angry brow at him and he rephrased his words, "I mean not entirely, it's just something Mia, Robin and I used to enjoy doing as kids. "

"Do you know how terrified I was," Despite my efforts, the tears still streamed down my cheeks? Needing to be away from him, I hugged my legs and buried my face in my knees. For some reason, every damn topic was making me very teary, only this time I knew I had every right to be upset.

"Hey don't cry, please don't cry," this time when he spoke I could hear the strain in his voice, it wielded a million apologies even without the words.

I felt his hands running through my hair smoothly and his warm breath on my neck was surprisingly doing a lot to comfort me seeing as he was the one that upset me. "I didn't mean to hurt you, Chris."

"I know," and that was the truth, yet knowing that was not helping either.

"Come here," he said, urging me from my enclosed space and slid an arm around my back.

The last thing I expected was a hug from him, and even more so the way all of my fears completely melted at being enveloped by him.

I wrapped my arms around him and buried my face in the crook of his neck, savoring the moment "I'm so sorry muffin,"

"I know,"

We spent the next few breaths rocking back and forth in a slow rhythm, Apart from the rushing water and the sound from trees and other forest life, we were in silence, not the awkward kind since I did not mind been held and pampered once in a while.

"Can I dare to ask forgiveness now?" despite the softness in his tone, I could still hear the guilt.

"I'm no longer upset, but I don't want you to stop holding me yet," I whispered, "it makes me feel better,"

Tilting his head to meet mine, he kissed the length of my neck down to my collarbone and then whispered in my ear, "I can think of a few other ways to make you feel better."

His voice dripped with a familiar hunger and whatever lingering anger I felt before drifted away, repaced by something else. Despite my freight, I found myself smiling sheepishly at his suggestive offer, "Well now I'm curious."

"Good," without letting go of me, Lucas lifted me off my feet. Carrying me in his arms, he led us toward the waterfall and I raised a brow, wondering where he was going as he continued walking toward the seemingly dead end.

"Trust me," he said, but I could hear the question. This time it was not a statement, he wanted to hear me say it and I was not about to deprive him of knowing how much I trusted him. His satisfactory smile as I uttered the words made it clear I was not wrong.

"Now, close your eyes and hold on tight."
